Sorry should be clear on the top 15 on the NJ sites. 5k barely runs but would sell action if it came up.

Think it's better to keep my thoughts to myself...but some of the best are Jumbo Rocks/ Ferocious Panda/ Ryan Leaf/ Gags/ Mr. Robot

I'm very sure my thoughts will change as I play more at the higher stakes.

As for tonight mixed in a bit of 500 and 1k, didnt play great and didnt get great results

1.) Biggest losing pot of the year! kinda annoying spot against reg i havent played too much with. His hand is obviously a very good hand to put in his c/c range on flop and in hindsight despite villains WWSF his only probable bluffs are KsKx and QsQx which im not sure how often he'd bluff anyhow...so in hindsight I should fold I also would rather 3b preflop

I really like this quote, I'm hopeful that if I put in enough work I can eventually be the best, but I have a long way to go. Enjoying the journey either way

I play on Borgata in NJ which use the party poker skin.

Haven't been able to do much work lately. Had a wedding than a wake/funeral past few days. Another frustrating session today where I think I actually played pretty well but just all my bluffs were caught/ran into the nuts or I couldnt make any hands

Going to get back on streaming tomorrow from 6-8 PM, will talk about Vegas journies, getting coached, etc. https://www.twitch.tv/bbissick

Real Life News

Since September I've been living in Hoboken. It's an awesome city with just a ton to do, it's definitely a hotspot especially being so close to NYC. However, after looking at a few places with my girlfriend, we'll be moving up a little north to Edgewater, right on the water this coming October.

My lease ends next month so I'll spend a month back home to the parents before moving in to the new place. I didn't think I'd get in a serious relationship in the early stages of me playing Poker but I'm glad it's worked out!

Poker

Starting to get back in the swing of poker things lately. Had two really good study and grind sessions the past two days, unfortunately the results haven't come on yet. To be fair, I've run fantastic in flips and All ins as I'm 3k over EV which is nice since I'm just break even.

Regardless of my results, pretty happy with how I played and despite being down a decent amount and lack of sample pretty sure I'm a winner in the 500 pools.

Anyway, some hands...including some fun ones.

Surely, first hand Villain is super nit and has only opened (AA,KK,AKs) so far at 4x so didn't feel comfortable 3bet GII and don't want to 3bet QQ. It's a weird spot for sure, given how strong he is not sure why CO didn't 3 bet.

2nd hand is obviously awful, won't try to justify that one, in game I thought in a vacuum it wasn't as bad for reasons I can't write, but yes I'd just put it under the spew department. Love your blog btw, hope you keep up this heater!

Will play a short afternoon session today, then have a double date and rafting/camping today and tomorrow, sneaked in some hands very late last night.

Thanks boss

Monthly results

Given that I didn't get to click buttons til the 18th, I'm ok with the volume and definitely feels nice to run pretty well in EV! Despite the lack of Sklanksy bucks, pretty happy with how I played considering 40% of the volume was 500+ and I didn't table select.

*Note: Graph is missing a 2k pot I lost so a bit worse than it looks.

I've gotten into a groove recently and have fine tuned a few things in my game that needed work. Early in my career I really hated studying and now I really enjoy it and have fun with it.

August should be another fun month as I have a lot of fun trips/events played outside poker and really enjoy the last month of summer. Expect major volume September/October and I'm considering a pretty nuts prop bet for October as well

Some August Goals to wrap up the month:

1.) Play 75,000 hands
2.) Study 40 hours
3.) Meditate 25 days
4.) Coach 10 hours
5.) Go to the Gym 18 times

Not sure if troll, but 1/2 and 2/5 with a little 1k sprinkled in for degeneracy purposes

Swings have been real to start the month, playing 2/5 is just too much fun though especially against the top guys. Think it's kinda funny that I read an excerpt from a poker book against one of the players two years ago and now have battled him quite a bit at 500 to start the month. (He sunruns me though)

Thanks bud, always nice to hear I have some followers.

Had a really nice 2 hour coaching session with my coach on Friday, really starting to tighten up all my leaks and my game is just exponentially better than even 6 months ago so excited to keep getting better and finish this deal on a great note.

I took yesterday off to head home for me and my highschool friends 9th annual fantasy football draft before heading out to a local bar for drinks.

It was a ton of fun although I felt a little guilty as I saw some of the Saturday games were great.

Oh well, gonna fire all the Sunday majors today while playing 4-5 cash tables and hopefully start to get on track for a big month.

A Frustrating Month...so far

Results have been not so good, down a few k to start the month, although I think I'm playing well for the most part. (Note: played horrific today)

I notice I am having a bit of an entitlement (?) tilt coming up, getting way too frustrated with weak regs doing not great stuff so I am going to work a bit harder to not get as tilted during a session.

I have also been bad with studying and really haven't put in a good enough effort, if anyone had any videos or books to help with motivation it would be appreciated.

On the bright side, volume has been decent having about 23k hands so far so small win there.

Prop Bet

200k hands come October and I have to win at 2.5 EV bb... details to come

Mini Poker Break

Off til I believe the 13th as I have a bunch of fun events planned the next few days including Broadway, salsa dancing, a birthday celebration, and beer olympics.
