I am a professional NL Cash game pro who has been lacking motivation to grind recently. The purpose of this blog is to make sure I follow the schedule that I built for myself.

I do not have a profit, win rate, or stake level goal, my only goal is to stick to this schedule.

This schedule includes:
8 hours of poker every Monday-Thursday
5 Workouts and stretching routines / week
Cold Showers
Meditation, reading, and studying mandarin

Additionally I clean my house weekly on the weekends. The weekends are for socializing, in the event that I do not have plans and am sitting alone at home I will follow the Friday schedule omitting the gym.

Upon violation of the schedule I will update this thread and pay the first to comment.

I return from a vacation on Monday so the schedule will be in effect starting Tuesday. Wish me luck

Since starting this thread I have stayed true to the schedule in the sense that I have gotten 8 hours of poker done every work day as well as my extracurricular activities. My monetary results have also exceeded my expectations and that's great. However, recently I do not feel as fulfilled with the grind. I find that I find the most satisfaction in making improvements to my game and recently I have been lacking in the quality of my study. This month while studying I have been camping the lobbies and open sitting, keeping my eyes peeled for games that pop off. The issue is that my study gets repeatedly interrupted and I can never enter a flow state. In the past I have done 3 hours of uninterrupted study with no lobby camping but I was getting fomo since big games would often pop off while I was not around. There is a sweet spot for uninterrupted study and I have edited my schedule to accommodate it.

Here I have dedicated an hour to uninterrupted study, hopefully with this hour long focus block I can make progress on my technical abilities and feel as though my game is improving rather than stagnating.

Thanks for the advice, I do take it pretty hard on myself when I have an off day. Need to be more forgiving.

Looks a lot like the type of schedules I make for myself. Hope you can stick with them. Best of luck!

What range of stakes do you play?

It helps to consider rest as part of your work detail. You need to factor in rest as a part of your schedule like any other part. Without it, you never perform efficiently enough.

In order to get to your poker level, do I have to get to your pullup level? Is that the key?

Pull up to the gym, pull up to the study session, pull up to the grind session. Everyone is capable of greatness but most find it hard to pull up consistently

Your response is so good, to continue the conversation would be disrespectful.
