I have been playing online-poker for a decent time now. But i have a big problem: tilting! It was allways the same story. I cashed in some money, beat the micro-stakes very good but at some boring weekend i played a bit not a 100% concentrated, lost one or two stacks and then i tilted completely and donked of the rest.
I sometimes cashed out before, so if you are afraid if im a poor gambler, you can set up your mind at rest. Im break even over the years i think.
So what im now planning now is to work a litte bit on my game and get a grip on tilting.
So what is my approach to work with that:
- Play sessions for a fixed time (1h or 90min - Timelimit will be set before)
- Leave the tables earlier if i loose 2 buyins
- post in this forum
- think about every hand in detail
- If you have any more tips or literature to work with, please let me know.
Now some facts about my limit:
I play at the ongame network 5c/10c NL. My current BR is $ 80.41 and i have $ 100 behind ready to cash in (to prevent tilting it of). So lets say i start with a bankroll of $ 180.41.
I dont play 2c/4c NL is because i dont feel comfortable at these stakes. The chance of thinking "well, just $ 3, get it in" is to high. So i decided to play one limit higher.
I want to post my development, my state of mind and for sure some example hand of my sessions to discuss.
I will start with my first session. After tilting of my money, i have a fresh state of mind and played quite a decent session i think. I played four tables at a time.
Session Summary:
Net Won/Lost: $ 12.23
EV Net Won/Lost: $13,75
Bankroll: $ 180.41
Do you put him on AQ here when limping preflop and calling a raise? Not really? I bet on the turn this big, because i picked up a flushdraw too. How would you have played this hand?

i have played two addtional sessions on sunday a 90 minutes. After losing a litte bit to the gambling weekend fish is reconsidered my game and played a little bit looser 3betting, because they call with so marginal hands on a 3 bet.
After this i had a good run for the day. Some interesting hands will be posted tonight.
Session Summary:
Net Won/Lost: $ 26.39
Bankroll: $ 206.80
Hello everybody. It seems that, unfortunately nobody cares about my blog. Im going on anyways, to monitor myself.
I have played a session tonight, and felt very comfortable. This fact reflected directly into my winnings. When im winning i logically dont tilt, so i had have not to much to report about the state of my mind.
Session Summary:
Session Summary:
Hands Played: 521
Net Won/Lost: $ 28.25
EV Net Won/Lost: $ 25.70
Bankroll: $ 235.05
Played a last session of 60 minutes for today. It looks, like a have a decent run at the moment.
Session Summary:
Hands Played: 521
Net Won/Lost: $ 31.54
EV Net Won/Lost: $ 16.75
Bankroll: $ 266.59
Im wondering if you people also have this weired mindset that is around my mind. When im running good, im afraid all time about the next downswing. Maybe this correlates with my tilting, and i know that when im loosing some stacks, i will go into tilt mode.
What is about you? How do you set up your mind to not get to tight or afraid of playing hands?
Afterwards i think, i should have b/f the turn. If played i see no way of calling here. THe stats of the player are quite fishy (VPIP: 68, PFR: 20, 3B: 0, AF: 1,0, Hands: 25), but i give him here weired twopair or the straight nearly all the time. What is your opinion on that hand?
