Is there poker in my near future? Is there poker in my near future?

Hello, i didn't quite know where to post this, but this seemed like the category it would fit in the most.

I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina, I am 18 years old and aspire to one day be able to live off poker (such as many people on this forum).

The problem with my country is, online poker is pretty much off limits, not because playing isn't legal, but because withdrawing money via bank transfers from overseas is illegal due to trading restrictions, anyways, bla bla, the only method for withdrawing in Argentina is via the Net + card, but they basically pay you 0.50 cents for every dollar you withdraw.

The question is, should I continue to play online even though i can not withdraw my money until the law is changed? (which could take a minimum of 2-3 years), Do you think I can make a living out of live poker? (I think i have an edge in every casino, but varianze (sp?) worries me since you can play only a limited amount of hands compared to online.

My only other option would be playing live poker and using any online money to buy into live pokerstars tournaments (EPT, LAPT, etc), but It's discouraging to not be able to use the money in any other way.

Thanks for the attention.

Edit: Btw, live poker here is basically limited to NL100, NL200 and NL500, but take into account $50 here gets you much more than $50 in the US

I can use them, but as I said, withdrawals give you half what they should, since they pay you in argentinian currency, but for example, when you withdraw $100, they give you 500 ARS (argentinian currency), when actually $100 is worth 1000 ARS.

I play on Pokerstars.

Yea I'm sure there is but when you are trying to make a carreer out of something, and probably have lots of money at stake in a site, it's not the smart thing to do to break the rules.

Yea, the only thing I heard was travelling to a neighbour country and withdrawing there, but there's a $1000 per day limit, and you don't want to travel that often..

Is live poker not an option?

I don't play live, but from what I have read on 2+2, if you can beat NL10 online, there will be no problem beating NL100-200 live, you just have to adjust a little bit.

put the money on a paypal, netteller or money bookers, try to buy gold and silver bullions, have them shipped to your home and sell them back in your country.

Hey 4+5, I am pretty sure you can get this around. Unless you make more than $5-$10k a month there is no problem transfering your earnings to another player and that player sends you on Skrill or w/e. As long as you keep playing, Pokerstars will not do anything at all. Take for example staking deals, there's always money going around, it's allowed. You will ofcourse loose some money on fees (maybe 5% tops?) or even none, depending if the player wants to charge you or not.

Anyways, I am pretty sure you can get this fixed without loosing 50% actually for low ammounts even I could help you out.

Regards an gl.

I understand your point, but the problem is not only with withdrawals from gaming sites, but also from withdrawals from online wallets such as skrill, moneybookers, paypal, neteller, etc, which means that wouldn't work unless the player I'm transferring to actually paid me in cash, since bank transactions are also restricted.
