Sup beautiful peoples of teh 2+2, I am blakkman08, one of the founders and likely most consistent contributor of #teamcantclose and I am back for teh third time!
For those who don't know me , a little backstory:
I started playing full time in 2012 and $200 in my account and ran that up to a total of $80kish in profits since, playing mainly $5NL-$100NL cash games until April of 2013 and mainly MTTs with a $22 ABI ever since. However I ve played HUSNGs, 180s, 18mans and whatever else there is enough to consider myself capable in each of those formats.
During that time I've moved to Malta and lived there for 14months, whilst meeting a bunch of cool people and doing some traveling around Europe. It was fun while it lasted but now I m back in Berlin planning to stay here for the foreseeable future.
2013 was a pretty big year for me in that I managed to final table two SCOOP events which allowed me to start playing on my own roll and gain some degree of financial freedom. Sadly I made sure to #teamcantclose them both by coming 6th and 5th respectively but that only made me hungrier to make big things happen in 2014! Get #teambink or die tryin style !
2013 cash results on stars:
2013 'other stuff' on all sites:
Despite the above I have come to realize that for me, poker can't be a long term way to spend my life and as 2014 might be my last year playing this beautiful game fulltime I have decided to make - and do all I can to achieve - some very lofty goals. As they say, if u re gonna go out go out with a bang!
2k14 poker goals:
[ ] 2000 hours played (90% MTTs+ 180s on stars)
[ ] 200k VPPs
[ ] 200k $ total profit (don't like $ goals but it looks nice next to the other two and I think sth in that ballpark is achievable if I rly go berserk)
2k14 life goals:
[ ] find a sick apartment and move b4 SCOOP
[ ] quit smoking for good
[ ] run Berlin half marathon in <2hrs
[ ] finish Berlin marathon in one go
[ ] learn to dance Tango
[ ] eat healthy (more self made than fast food, fruit/salad daily)
Also I ll be actively trying to find something else that I can pursue with a passion after poker. The main reason I ve been thinking in that direction is that while poker is a very decent means to living an independent and free lifestyle without much in the way of concerns, to me personally it lacks the reward of doing good to others. I m not quite sure what exactly that means but I m sure something will reveal itself to me during the lifespan of this thread
until then leggooooo and let's try and make the most of teh two thousandth and fourteenth year
