Hey,

This is my first PG&C and hopefully my last one aswell as I intend to update this one frequently and hopefully won't stop after one week, lol.

I've played poker since I became 18 and now I'm almost 23. I've never played higher than nl100, mostly because I averaged 5k-10k hands/month and didn't study the game for a long time. I always wanted to give poker a real try and really make an effort to improve but that didn't really happen besides some one week semi-serious attempts. Usually it lasted some days before I went back to my old habits, which was usually to be out all day and not doing any productive. My life is almost the same now besides that I work now for 3h/day monday-friday.

Yesterday I started to read forhayley's poker blog on a russian poker forum (with google translate) where he went from SSNL to become one of the best 6max regs out there. I haven't read the whole blog since it's pretty annoying with google translate but atleast it got me inspired to change my habits and make an effort everyday to put in hands and to improve my game.

I play on Svenska Spel (swedish site owned by the government) on 2-4kr and 2,5/5kr tables which is equal to ~nl$60 and ~nl$75. The max-buyin is 200 big blinds but I buy in for 100 bbs since I want to improve my 100bb game.

So my main goals for an unknown period are:
1) Stop autopiloting and focus and each hand when I'm playing
2) Play max 3 tables (maybe 4 if the tables are really good)
3) Tableselect hard
4) Spend everyday studying off the tables
5) Again, play max 3 tables, tableselect hard and studying everyday off the tables
6) Put 1k/hands a day
7) Only look on results after the session

999) Become a highstakes-reg

I'll try to update daily with graphs, hands and my struggles during my journey. I'm also looking for people to talk to through skype about hands and strategy with ppl that play similar limits. So feel free to PM me with your skype name if u want to talk strategy!

Feel free to ask my anything in this thread.

So here we go!!!

This is yesterday's results. Managed to win little over 7,5 buyins but didn't achieve 1k hands. The tables weren't that good at the end so I quit earlier.

3520SEK = $562,75

I'll be posting hands that I had trouble with soon!

Tackar!

I think depends on what stakes you play. At the lowstakes I would recommend playing on Svenska Spel since they rake half the amount at lowstakes comparing to most other sites. And the competition at the lower stakes are pretty fishy but decreases as higher you go.

Some hands from yesterday's sessions.

A funny hand.
SB is a fish.

I 3b pre because the first opener is opening pretty wide, BTN 3bs often and SB is a spazzy fish who I don't mind playing with postflop. With my blockers to KK, JJ, AK, I thought it was an okey 4b bluff.

When SB fish calls I thought his range could be all kind of **** like high brodways, pairs, Ax hands although not really sure how wide he would call here. But I went for a cbet since I thought my range is pretty strong here and KJ is good having in my cbet-bluffing range.

When he calls flop I thought his range is probably high pairs that won't fold to a turnbet and prob riverbet. So I checked down.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $5(BB) Replayer
SB ($964)
Hero ($749)
UTG ($1,023)
CO ($171)
BTN ($1,610)

Dealt to Hero K J

UTG raises to $17.50, fold, BTN raises to $49.37, SB calls $46.87, Hero raises to $150, fold, fold, SB calls $100

FLOP ($366) 5 5 4

SB checks, Hero bets $150, SB calls $150

TURN ($666) 5 5 4 6

SB checks, Hero checks

RIVER ($666) 5 5 4 6 6

SB checks, Hero checks

Hero shows K J
(Pre 41%, Flop 20.1%, Turn 9.1%)

SB shows 3 A
(Pre 59%, Flop 79.9%, Turn 90.9%)

SB wins $651

Here's another hand.

Villain is reg that's not being very fancy.

I flat pre instead of 3betting because villain openes only 17% in HJ but should prob 3b since it's not that tight, but not sure. What do you think?

On the flop I went for c/r because I want to have c/r range here and TT seems good to have in my value-range. And I don't want to give him good price to hit with gutshots etc.

On the turn I wasn't sure what his range was. Thought most AA, KK, AK, QJ, would get it in and maybe AT, but prob not. So when the turn was another K and thought he wouldn't call here with much since most of the hands would 3b pre. So I expected his range to be something like slowplayed set, twopair, pair+gutshot and slowplayed straights and against that range I'd rather c/c I thought to myself since he would prob fold pair+gutshot on this turn so I give him opportunity to bluff.

On the river, I'm not sure what the best line is. My thoughtprocess was to just donkshove to make it look like a missed gutshot, abd pair that want to get fold.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $5(BB) Replayer
SB ($1,083)
Hero ($580)
UTG ($958)
CO ($182)
BTN ($1,463)

Dealt to Hero T T

UTG raises to $17.50, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls $12.50

FLOP ($37.50) A K T

Hero checks, UTG bets $28.12, Hero raises to $75, UTG calls $46.88

TURN ($187) A K T K

Hero checks, UTG bets $140, Hero calls $140

RIVER ($468) A K T K 4

Hero bets $347 (AI), UTG folds
