Hand 3: You can def check it back but i would bet the turn. I dont think he will c/r in this spot alot. He almost always has a pocketpair or a king here. By betting you represent a strong hand and he should fold all his pocket pairs.
If not you still have a lot of equity. You have atleast 1 overcard and a flushdraw everytime (close to 40%). And you keep yourself the possibilty to bluff the river if you miss.
If you check here and bet the river he prob will call with any pair.

Hand 4: I def wouldnt raise all in here. His bet is polarized to hands that beat you and air. Hes never doing this with an ace 4 value. I dont see value is raising.

Hand 5: Preflop i think your raise is good. I would raise less preflop cause you are IP and he has a small stack that you will get anyways if you hit. Another reason i would raise here is that hes prob not that good (62BB stack) and we want to isolate him.

Hand 6: I really like your call here preflop. Flop and turn are played good aswell although i think i would raise flop. WP

id raise the turn with the Q9.

no point playing trips so passively here, obviously you want him to tripple barrel with Air, but i think he shuts down on most rivers anyway, as you arent folding a Q or K on dry rivers most of the time.

Also the flush draw came in on turn, which also gives a little more reason to raise, try and build a pot with such a big hand, expect crying calls on the river with Kx

Hand 16 I don't see how he's ever going to exploit me if I fold, I still have TT, 66, 55, 65, maybe some T6 and T5, as well I don't see an unknown check/raise bluffing twice, and I was expecting him to call with hands like AT.

Hand 17 I completely agree with you, and my play on the turn is just really bad.

I'm pretty sure I was playing bad the entire day, I know I made some fairly loose calls and I'm probably still missing spots to bluff.

It's really weird that I haven't played very many big pots, I notice this every day when I'm going through my database to look through hands, for example I played 6k hands today and only had 8 hands where I won or lost more than 80bb. I remember I checked once when I was playing on Party and over a pretty big sample of probably 100k+ hands it was around once every 60 hands.

Hey man, just wanted to comment on this because I play a lot of big pots and it seems really frequent that I'm getting all-in. I haven't checked in my db I'm definitely getting all-in pre at least a few times in a 6k hand sample.

You should check to see if you are value betting fish thin enough and triple barreling all-in with TPGK type stuff most of the time even if that flush card rolls off on the river because a lot of the time they're sitting on TPWK or some **** so you gotta capitalize on that.

Another thing I try to do a lot is isolate limpers super wide. I guess you can only do this in line with how well you play post flop. This allows you to get HU with the fish more often and these are the guys that are most willing to play big pots with you.

One more thing is I love to 3bet squeeze stuff like AQ, AJ, KQ, KJ when some reg opens and a fish cold calls and I'm in position. I'm bluffing the reg out and value towning the fish because I can collect dead money on the flop a decent amount and other times I stack them when I flop a pear and they have some piece.

3bet bluffing with them hands is ridiculous!! surely they are 3bet value hands vs pretty much any reg??
And squeezing hands like AJ and AQ is much better than flatting them, especially unsuited OOP, because they just dont play that well multiway.

If not then your 3betting value range is like AA KK QQ AK.... JJ would be questionable with your range

Also tripple barreling TPTK when a flush comes in is a bit daft, you have to hand read and put villian on a range, before you just go all in on the river with TPTK.... seems a little thin, fish love to chase flush draws more than anything, they can never let them go, no matter what price they are getting IMO

AJ or AQ probably isn't a 3bet for value vs a reg unless the opener is in the BTN or SB, and even then they can be a call.

If your 3bet value range is JJ+, AK what's the problem?

The triple barreling TPTK stuff I think LazyAce is just saying to notice those spots more.

Seriously not sure is serious... Most regs at 25NL full ring are not calling 3bets, especially oop with anything worse than the hands that I mentioned. At the same time, these hands ARE great value 3bets against a typical fishy cold calling range. So it's a great play since you get the regular to fold out his equity and you isolate the fish into a 3bet pot with a hand that dominates his calling range. Not sure what is not to like.

I'm sorry.... This post was directed specifically at the OP. After reading his OP and watching his video ( very nice btw ), and skimming through the thread I knew that I didn't have to go in to explicit detail. Obviously we aren't just blindly 3balling every river with TPGK. Trying to sell OP on some simple recipe for how to play all his top pairs against fish would be an insult to him. So I hope that you could understand that I am taking for granted that he is going to keep on assigning ranges and what not.

I just know that from my own experience, when I started realizing how huge TPGK is vs fish that are not showing aggression I started booking more consistent winning sessions because these spots come up so much more frequently than hitting and getting paid with your monsters.

When we have position and the fish checks to us on the river a lot of the time he doesn't have the flush because

a) he gets to the river with much more than draws like middle-top pair stuff which they often aren't folding to a shove. This is exactly why you always see advice posted in micro forums like "don't 3barrel bluff a fish, they can't fold bottom pair". So if that is good advice, and I believe it is with some rare exceptions, then we obviously need to be value betting a lot thinner.

b) When they check they are less likely to have a strong hand because even a fish knows you might check it back on the river so once they hit a lot of them like lead. That's not saying none of the fish check raise the river. They do, I'm just saying it's a lot less likely they have a flush even if you figure they check and lead with it 50/50 because of all the other weak crap that they have in their range.

18. Dislike your flop and turn sizing. Flop minimal 2 bucks, and not even close imo. If he has a draw or pair or w/e he is just gonna call. Like I mean, you can't get value from a missed draw on the river u know (atleast, pretty likely lol) and even hands like QJ always call turn when u bomb it but might fold river.

As for Pita.... if you dont think regs are calling with worse hands...... then 3bet them really light then, and when they call, you can easily give them a range of AK, and JJ+.... however i really think they are calling a lot wider than that in my own experience

I wouldn't say it's an advanced play either, but something I really needed to hear and look out for a bit more, and a specific reply to what I said about noticing I'm not playing very many big pots.

I'm not saying regs don't call with worse hands than that, I'm just saying that unless they're in late position I can't get called by enough worse hands if I 3bet with AJ. As well even if they are profitable 3bet bluffs, calling can be more profitable and these hands play well in SRPs and other hands like suited connectors play better in 3bet pots so I'm 3betting those instead.


MiniFTOPS is over (for me), I played 21 entries in 11 events, I had 25% of myself and spent $697 in buyins and got $321 in cashes which is a loss of $94. Bustout hands from 6max KO and main event today.
