2021 comes to an end. I thought of doing a long rewind of the year but I rather focus on some cliffs to take from 2021 on to 2022.
***
Graph - I only installed PokerTracker on mid-June as I started the thread, so it does not include the beginning of the year. I did not play NL100z before that anyways so might as well take it. It does not include 7,000 hands from Party with a $400 profit.
-- 230,000 (215,000 @100z) hands in 320 hours over 6 months as a part-time player. A volume I'd achieve in 1.5-2 months Full time.
-- Down $2,800 in normal playing time. Up +$9,992 in rakeback
Total since beginning of thread:
+7,200 USD
***
The main takeaway of this is that despite being a clear losing player I still managed to make $7,200 in NL100z over 230,000 hands. Rakeback is King and it needs to be milked as much as possible.
I begin 2022 in a really good state of mind for a few reasons:
1.- The main leaks have been identified and are ready to work on.
1.1.- Even if they stay the same, money still can be made.
2.- The bankroll is at an all-time high thanks to a good run outside poker at the end of the year, and eliminating an absurd investment.
3.- I feel really motivated, with zero poker burnout, and just happy in general.
***
I started the thread in June trying to stablish myself as a solid Stars NL50z player and 6 months later (Jan '22) I will be taking my first serious shot at NL200z. DONT MIND IF I DO!

Best session of all time IMO, and a good tribute to the other sessions of the year. Seems just fitting for this day.
The first month of 2022 comes to an end and despite losing because I am not very good, I am still happy with it.
I started the year with the intention of shot taking NL200z in Stars, but I received a deposit bonus from Party so I just went for it. The software upgrade and the rakeback made me stay so I played all my January volume in Party. Losing month but 2500 USD in cashback more than make up for it, specially given that I only played up until the 20th.
In short, $2000 month in online NL100ff to start the year. We will take it.
For the past 10 days I've been playing exclusively live tournies and a bit of cash and oh boy is this the wild west. Luckily I've managed to come back alive with a HU chop in a random 80 quid tourney, a min-cash in the 560 at the Vic and a +600 GBP session, amongst 4-5 bricks in 100s.
Anyways, I now head to Day 2 of the 340 (last one of the adventure in the Live Jungle), but I am pretty excited to get back to the study and to the bread and butter of the online.

I'll leave you all with this inspiring masterpiece. TRANSCEND
Poker in March comes to a close after completing the Stars RB challenge. Not the greatest month in terms of results but I still managed to finish in the green after the rakeback, which deep down is what matters. A beautiful 888 dollar left on the table, but the $1,730 obtained in cashback makes up for a +$842 month.
1.- Poker is pretty much alive. I am a pretty poor reg that barely does any study but I still manage to get my months in the black. I started the thread in the NL50 streets and in May I will be shot taking my first 10 buy ins in NL200z (I guess I could do it now but a nit has to live the nit life). Honestly, I am NOT GOOD at poker and the better regs at NL100 crush me; maybe fish feed me when I pick up their tendencies, no idea. Anyways, 200z regs get ready because soon enough I will be filling your cashiers.
2.- Screennames that I consider to be the best regs in NL100 don't seem to move up. There are 5-6 players of this type that have been grinding 100z since I became a reg (probably way before) but I never see them in the 200z pool. I assume they are just super confident at knowing the tendencies of the pool and that they are straight up printing variance-free. Anyways, just wanted to drop it in there. I also read Jericho's thread and how every time he tried to shot take NL500 he couldn't win an all-in for his life. Now the guy is crushing. I respect that. Anyways, if I were destroying a stake for a year+ I would consider a pay rise, but ofc that is just my opinion and different players have different goals / finances.
3.- The EV line is just really overrated by people in general (or at least by me). As Jeans put it it is a better metric than money won, but it is still far away from your actual winrate. I will not be happy if I win Sklansky bucks during a session. I will however be happy if I win cash.

The plans for April are coming back to Party to nurture the roll before shotting NL200 at Stars. I will most likely be playing 100ff all month. Also playing the UKIPT side events (maybe if the nit inside me leaves my body I will crack on with the 1k), and the 1k in Monaco at the end of the month. I will also try to post more in here but can't promise anything '

I will leave you with this gem to destroy your speakers. Used to listen to this guy while 6-tabling NL25ff, I'm happy I came across it again.
Quick April update, 4.6k month! Best month of my life, as always most of it coming from rakeback but we will take it. It's not like they ask if it is rakeback money when you buy stuff.
1.2k on the tables, 3.4k rakeback, all in 100ff. Party, I love you. Game looks good as well. I keep "beating" some of the best regs in the sense that they saw me go ballistic in a couple spots and they will just never fold to me in other situations.
The plan for May is easy. 2-4 fastforward tables and 2-4 SCOOP tables all evening. Expecting big volume in May since I have no trips planned other than a couple potential live timbeys. Then, Roland Garros SFs on June 3rd for my mom's birthday, a legend of the game.
Good luck to all of you tournament degens.

sorry to the offtopic but how u track your win rate on pokertracker 4 with parttypoker? i cant do it, thanks !
HOWEVER SCOOP turned me on quite a bit and I decided to degen pretty much every 2-day event I knew the rules of. I would see the prize pools, start the session, grind, lose 3 figures, feel miserable about a format I actually hate, and repeat the process. In 3 weeks I only really got 3 cliffs that are not even that worth it:
Cashed the main for $273 (minus 218 buy-in)
Played my second biggest online tourney ever (610 dollar buy-in split over 12 entries of the $55 Phase)
Finished 60/3000 in the $22 NLO8 KO, after spending the whole tourney jamming 40bb anytime one of my 4 cards was an ace. Also Pads and Marle to my left which was kind of fun.
Finished 90/11000 that same day in the Storm.
The graph for SCOOP is 2057 dollars in the hole, which is annoying… I decided to take a shot at a small sample in these huge size huge variance fields and it went pretty much as bad as anyone could have thought, but it is what it is.
Quick input in the eternal discussion about the attainable ROI in the WSOP Main. 100%ROI = $10,000, which over 70 hours is $143 an hour. So you’re telling me the hourly in the MOST PROFITABLE TIMBEY in the world is pretty much what a good reg makes at 100z??? I do understand it is a chance at a million dollar check (at least), but that´s it, and there is no “long-term” results, as you will only play around 60 of them at most… I might be off in the ROI estimate, but surely ROI and Hourly should go pretty hand-in-hand yet people only talk about the former. Anyways, just the take of a wannabe rakeback pro after a tough tournament series.

FUTURE PLANS
I am now writing from Paris after inviting my beloved mom to see the semis of Roland Garros for her “35th” birthday. I am staying here until next week, and then going to Malta for the UKIPT Festival, so not much volume expected for June. After that it is time to take this a bit more professionally. This means:
- 2000 cashback points a week (worth 800 USD)
- 4 runs a week
- 1 2p2 post a week
I will follow these 3 little rules during July and August as much as I will be following the sun and the day-drinking, and I believe I will be able to cope. GL!!
I will report weekly. I will then re-evaluate at the end of August about where to spend WCOOP and the autumn.

This month’s tune is my guy Cruzzi again. VISION TUNEL
Pretty un-eventful week in terms of the pokers, as I only got back from Paris on Wednesday and my GigaChad Polish mate from uni came over. However as I said in my last post, I am sticking to the weekly routine of 5 workouts, 2000 points ($800 rakeback) and 1 post in the thread. Glad to get one sorted on Monday morning!
This week I plan on grinding Monday to Saturday, so the 2000 points should be in the bag. I will come back with some interesting hands on the next post before going to Malta on Sunday for some Live Tournament Degeneracy.
On a separate note, I flew to Malta on Sunday the 19th to degenerate a little in the live scene. I was on the poker table literally 45 minutes after my plane landed. I managed to finish 14th/391 on my second bullet of the €275 for €670 + €1300 in booty. Not gonna lie I am really happy with the way I played and how I identified other people's ranges/tendencies. I did get owned on a couple big pots on day 2 but that is the way it is, and that happens when you respect some solid opponents thinking they could have some bluffs when in reality they may not.
Also I am 99% sure I lost a 50 euro chip which is proper tilting.
Now time to check out the cash games and based on that decide whether I'll shot the Main or not.

Gonna leave you with some cheesy summery song, but that's the mood right now! GL at the tables laddsssss
Another month in the history books, another month in the green in the cash games. I was going through the jericho thread and I saw the post of his first losing month... I genuinely start every month thinking this could be the first one, if even a crusher can have such a downswing for that long period of time. I am aware of the 50 buy in downswings, and I am 100% rolled for that, and I´d say about 80% mentally ready. I still don't want it to come though lol.
I have no idea how tournament players can do this for a living. You could literally play your entire life and still not realize your EV.
Broke even on the NL100 streets but I played a bit of 1/2 and I ran like a god, so I'll take that.
***
Partypoker have changed their rakeback system, which tilted me a little bit at the beginning but I am starting to realize it will probably be for the best.
Pros:
- 1/2 runs. From what I saw last month is pretty much the NL100 regs, and some recreationals. I assume a lot of the NL500 regs are also playing that but I never played that high so I don't have anyone tagged.
- They have added a leaderboard for 1/2, which I'm not rolled enough to grind yet. I prefer the less variance in NL100 and the other promotion. However I do have a figure in mind of when I can shoot this and as soon as I reach it (hopefully before the end of summer) I'll be on it. I like to take sizable shots (20-25 buyins) rather than just jump in with 5 buy-ins and having to mix stakes for a few weeks.
Cons:
- I did not like the wording of the new system. They claim for it to be more clear for the players but at the bottom of the page they literally had to add a Cashback Calculator.
- My RB figure is slightly lower. This tilted me a lot when I found out but after thinking it through it will definitely be worth it being able to play 1/2 for a slightly lower cashback. I know that in the back of my mind I am a nit and I scrap every possible dollar of short term EV, but if this means the fastforward pools will continue to run for more months then this is obvs the best
Overall, I think these are good changes. Idk if there are any regs over here but I'd be happy to know your thoughts on this.

Planning a lot of volume for the first couple weeks of July until I go to Barcelona and my hometown for the last 2 weeks of the month. Then I have no plans for August other than grinding like a beast.

Yoo whats up mate. Also UK party reg here, Ive played with you a decent amount at 100ff. DM me if you want for screen name or we can talk strategy or something if you're interested (: been playing pro since summer 2020 and up to 500ff.
Pretty chill July in terms of poker. I only played for the 1st two and a half weeks and I was about to hit the first losing month but then rakeback and a little sun-run towards the end made up for it.
541 USD in the hole, plus 250 down more in 50NL Winamax, as I felt like trying it out. 1441 dollars in cashback make up for a total of 645 USD earned in July.
At the end of the month I took a break to visit my girlfriend in Barcelona, and now I am in the South visiting the OGs mamá and papá. Gonna grind some Winamax and tapas until the end of the week, coming back to the Almighty on Sunday.
The plan then is a couple weeks of grinding until the end of August, then another visit to the family and a trip with the GF around the East of Spain. After that, 2 weeks of WCOOP, and 4 months of real grinding. Only one weekend trip planned between WCOOP and the end of the year, so it will be proper grind mode.
I get burnt out kind of easily after 2 weeks of full on poker, but if I take longer than a 2 day break I start missing it and my full energy is recovered. Also the thoughts of leaving money on the table start creeping in a little bit. I do get to spend quality time with the fam so it is a break well spent, but I am looking forward to settling back in with my normal monitor and my normal routine once WCOOP starts.
How are u doing? Can I ask u some question About rooms and rakeback? I want to know how $ do u win in Rakeback terms at NL50-Nl100 and in which rooms and in how many tables/hours per day? Because now i play only 4 regular tables at NL100 at Bodog with 23% of Rakeback only, and I am even at tables in a small sample so at the end of month my $ are very poor. Thanks for the info

Hey mate how's it going. I always play 4-6 fastforward / zoom tables for 15-20 hours a week. It ain't much but it's honest work. I'm not sure if you can access the global pool at Party or the only-UK sites but rakeback will be around 30% plus potential bonuses. It depends and it varies each week though.
Summer is coming to an end and so are the travels and the days away from my beloved fastforward pool. I spent the first week of August in the south of Spain, then grinded for two weeks, then on to Barcelona to skip EPT and stay with my girlfriend. The next couple weeks will be to chill in the north of Spain, go to a wedding, and get lit in Ibiza and Valencia. I am really looking forward to all this but at the same time I can't wait to get down from that plane on Sunday morning, get to my desk and fire away WCOOP timbeys.
In terms of poker August was pretty chill with only 2 weeks of real online play and one live tourney at the Vic. Oooooh boi are live tournaments swingy. 2x average for 10 levels of day 1 ---> AK<AA BvB in last level ---> Entered Day 2 as dead last in chips from my day 1 (around 85th/95 total) ---> Ran like god ---> Entered final 13 as 1st/13 ---> Finished 13th/13th for 1.4k
I'm not one to post these kind of things but when it comes to live tournaments one is so mentally invested in each hand that it hurts a bit more. I'm still aware that my chances of finishing 13th after entering day 2 with 13bb are pretty damn low, so I will take this any day of the week.
BTN shows K K (One Pair, Kings)
(Pre 86%, Flop 97%, Turn 91%) Hero mucks T Q (High Card, Queen)
(Pre 14%, Flop 3%, Turn 9%) BTN wins 146.1 BB
***
Probably really optimistic, but I don't expect population to value bet thin enough (i.e. KQ), I block AQ, and I unblock FDs and backdoors. I believe he should still be betting river with a lot of his missed flush draws in this particular spot.
Hero mucks A 4 (Two Pair, Fives and Fours)
(Pre 45%, Flop 9%, Turn 0%) CO shows 5 A (Three of a Kind, Fives)
(Pre 55%, Flop 91%, Turn 100%) CO wins 198.5 BB

That's all she wrote. As I said before, 2 more weeks of relaxing until September 11th, and then it will be 4 months of pure grinding.

Not gonna lie, French sounds pretty good lol. Bumped into this song not long ago and I'm a fan.
Quick update. Worst poker month of my life BY FAR. 10 more days to turn it around but it looks like we're gonna have the first month of the year deep in the hole.
All I've got to say is that when I looked at the graph this morning for the first and only time in the month, I was expecting at least a 3k downer, so I'm pretty happy with this. Must be part of the last minute bias as they call it in combat sports, where if you get pounded at the end of a round the judges are more likely to give it to the other dude.
Anyways, the grind continues. LET'S GET IT, TUNNEL VISION
I have been playing in Stars all of November because I received a deposit bonus and let me tell you it's been a proper scandal lol. I have not looked at the graph yet but oh boy it will be a Gus Hansen slope. Thankfully I'm 66% done with the chest, I genuinely cannot wait for it to be over and go on a little holiday.
Decided to go back to Stars for the month and oh boi what a bloodbath that was.
I received a 500 dollar deposit bonus but the rakeback system they have is ridiculous. The fact that they do it monthly doesn't really make sense to me and is just too stressful, especially if you hit a bad downer and the deposit limits are near.
