Rayz must have added on an extra $1k, because when he made a guest appearance in the commentator booth earlier he said he had bought in for $1k only.
?

someone folded K8... on the flop?

Gave 2+2 a shout out in the booth lol.
Played decent I thought. Need to fold Aces otr that one hand. Especially not holding the Ac. He was the only guy at the table that I’d call.

Thanks for tuning in. Man we needed that!
so not only the title of the stream was incorrect but also the graphics. glad to hear it, but they need to get their **** together! congratulations on the win.

yeah, he raise/folded to 3b. possibly the quickest fold i've ever seen. Rayz wasn't splashing around and probably had a nit image for once. but still...

Been listening to some advice here and studied some pre and post flop charts. Some hands normally play pre, I folded.

thats nice, commentator said that solvers were useless for live games but the use of solvers is not to play like them but to help you figure out how to accurately exploit, like you may think someone is a calling station when they call 2nd pair river against a big bet in a given spot, but then you look at the solve and it’s a pure call

not knowing anything about GTO you might overadjust there and think you should never bluff this player but that would be wrong

anyway if you want to make it easy just gamify the learning process and drill spots

yeah, that commentator is a humongous fish it is always hilarious to hear people speak with authority on subjects they do not know anything about or even comprehend. even funnier that he kept doubling down on it... embarrassing!

yeah my big takeaway when i tuned in for the first stream was that the commentators were nice guys, decent at calling the action and filling dead air, but either knew absolutely nothing about poker - like they just pulled two guys out of a home game playing in a garage and handed them mics

one guy definitely knew more than the other, but both seemed nice enough, yeah.

here's an inspirational thread for you Rayz.

One thing I wanted to say after browsing this forum for a few years is that GTO is not useless playing against bad players, in fact I think every player needs to learn the fundamentals of what playing optimal poker is, then deviate from it to exploit player tendencies after playing with them. If you don’t even know what optimal lines/sizing is at different situations, there is nothing to fall back on when you don’t have a read on a specific player(s).

i mean sure you could technically ignore that and if anyone else wrote that i'd assume they were joking

but i think what is ultimately going to happen here is you build it - they argue that the spirit of the no tennis courts rule would encompass pickle ball - they force you to tear it down and you spend the next 6 months protesting outside the home of the head of the HOA with some sign like "pickleball isn't tennis"

nothing but pain awaits if you pursue this

and big picture - this is a social thing that requires people regularly coming over to your house to play - much easier to just go to another location anyway

For my earlier sins I spent 6 years on the board of our HOA in our last neighborhood. Since pickleball doesn't seem to be explicitly barred in the CCRs you might get by with it but if your neighbors object the board may say that a pickleball court = a tennis court. And then as Rickroll says you are screwed.

So I'd suggest you go to the HOA board and see what they say before you spend a bunch of money on it.

What's the point of having $ and living in the Midwest IF you're still going to be ruled by petty little tyrants (HOAs)?

I agree don't build the pickleball court, this is a bad idea, it is essentially the same as a tennis court
