Doing good so far Rayz! Depending on how fast I get my errands done tomorrow, may come down for 2A and if not, I will be down for 2B. Didn't get enough sleep and have been battling the flu so decided to wait until I feel better.

@moaurlawn get well. HSI no wifi is absurd!

85 left from 184. Heading into level 10, 100/400/800. Table just broke and came to new table w no history.

Pulled a sick bluff w 66 on a KKA94 board during level 6. If he calls me otr then I'm left w 10k. Luckily he tank folded, and now up to 50k. My heart was pounding out of my chest as I sat there stoically.

By the way, dress warm if playing in this poker room! My nose is running, and ears are close to frost bit.

Dinner break. 44 players left from 184 event 1 wsop. Heading into level 13, 200/800/1600
I can't believe my "one time" actually worked!!
The blinds were 200/600/1200. Middle position makes it 2500, co calls, button 3 bets to 5500, and I'm in the small blind w AK. I decide to 4bet 31,400 all in. My image at the table was super snug, and feel I may get QQs to fold (if a player is holding). It gets back to the opener in MP who tanks for ever then shoves, HJ folds, Button shoves as well. 3 way all in and both have me covered. Main pot is nearly 100k!
We turn them over and
mp: KK
HJ: folded 1010 after my 4 bet
Button: QQ
Me: AK
Now the dealer is reading to run it out. I had to make sure to say "one time" before she did. There was no way I was leaving w/o using my one time!
The flop: 4 10 J
The turn: 9
The river: I call for the Ace before she flips it over, and what do u know!
The prettiest ACE of hearts I ever seen!!!
UNREAL! So glad HJ folded 1010!

This means nothing though if I don't get itm!!
Let's GO!!
96k

Thanks for the support!!!

What a drag, Out in 30ish.
Huge hand if won wd hv been the cl w 200k.

Blinds 300/1k/2k I raise from mp to 4400 w J9, guy on my left calls.. Heads up to the flop w top 2 stacks at the table. Flop gives me top pair & flush draw. I lead out 7k, he raises to 21k, I re raise to 80k, he calls. Turn gives me an open ended straight draw, and I shove rest of my chips 10k. 200k pot, and already used my flipping one timer.
The river is garbage juice.

Wow that was fun though! How about some more misery tomorrow?

I am finding this to be a leak in my game. Trying to bluff people at the wrong time. When he raised you there is a good chance he isnt folding. I understand he may fold some hands but I have been looking at big hands I've lost and it usually involves trying to blow someone off a big hand when I have a big draw.

Cash it's OK, but tourney the chips are so much more valuable that I would really consider villians range and his style. Obviously you were there and maybe had a read or know the player, but food for thought.

Reading this down really got to my feels... Ray we've sat at one too many starting tables together in tournies the last few years and I feel, aside from myself, you're one of the most deserving guys due for some rungood in a tourney. You fought hard and I hope your spirit carries over into Event 2 and you continue what you started in Event 1.

I'll be around for 2B and then of course down for the Main next week and I'm sure we'll be at the same starting table.

I tend to agree. I don't know that I would be looking to GII here on a dra, even a big draw. Your too good of a player and I know you can find better spots. I know you have to win races in tourneys, but to me if I get 3 bet here with your hand, I'm folding. I know tourneys can be very boring, but you have to be patient and use your knowledge to accumulate chips. I know you know this, but it helps to hear it sometimes. Gl!

lots of good advice. u can't play tourney like cash. chips are 2 valuable. being chip leader nice but u can't shove a draw with no FE. u have an edge, when u get to 30 ppl u are trying to get to bubble with a stack that gives u FE. the bubble is where we make $$. having CL with 30 ppl left is irrelevant. but u absolutely cannot go bust, not when u have an edge

@yster @loudpacqio @riveredflush thanks man.
@blufforbebluffed nice meeting u yesterday. Another classy guy on 2+2! Gross hand in the cash game btw. Best of luck to u n life and poker.
@isteal @ythelongface I can totally relate to what ur saying. I kept tellin myself survive, survive, survive, and that my chips are my warriors. To take care of them. Mayb flatting his raise otf wd hv been better. ?? But I also felt he cd be raising here w AJ,KJ, QJ, mayb straight draws and flush draws. When I put in the huge 4 bet he cd possibly lay those hands down. Top 2 not so much.
But on the other hand if I get it in, and win this monster then I'm chip leader and cruising to ft w a chance at 14k.
@hello7027 thanks. Btw, I was sitting w Charlie (mspt Eville Champ), and he had nothing but gd things to say about u. Gl tomo.

couple problems. u can't b CL w 30 ppl left n cruise to final table. there is no cruising deep in tourney. if u did win that hand then its peddle to metal. cruising and doubling up n thinking u made it is fish mentality. And when he raises u then he isn't folding AJ or KJ or wutever and honestly u know this.

don't take my post as rude. I respect hell out ur game n wanna c u succeed. just remember in tourney its not just about this hand, but how ur actions affect ur future equity and game flow. a tourney is a game within a game.

I agree with what LP said. Being chip leader is nice, but I have seen many chip leaders go out before the money. I only worry about my chips and, my table. I don't think it helps too much to be overly concerned with being the big stack. I have a lot of respect for you, but it seems to me, that in some situations, you play a tourney hand like a cash hand and this puts you in some risky spots that could be avoided. All I'm saying is, your better than your opponents...don't race them..abuse them

I respect and appreciate the post. The critique is why I do this thread. I'm trying to be the best, and you all help me improve. So thank you!!!

Event 2 lasted 3 levels. I was getting some great starting hands, but dirty flops. I.e. KK twice 3 bet pre both times, ace both times otf. I got called 3 way and 4 way, so I put somebody on an Ace both times and folded once otf and other ott. Also had some big draws on sm hands that only bled me to death. The table was playing uber aggressive and I was quickly down. Tons of great hands that that never improved. Poker Gods not looking out for Rayz today.
Finally got it w Qd10d, flopped a flush draw that once again didn't get there.
Short day, but now gonna try hard to win some money playing these sick cash games.
I need to flip the script and turn the page. The plan is, if I win a decent amount playing cash, then I may gv it another go tomo.
For now I'm going to take a drive, grab some lunch, regroup/refocus, and hopefully run gd in cash.
Hv to take the gd w the bad. It's poker

@blufforbbluffed thanks. I may head to Hammond and c ya there. Gl

Gd news is I'm up about $1200 in 2/5nl. Bad news is two tables down I'm watching the guy that has all my chips in event1 about to win it. So mayb I wd hv cruised to ft after all. Damn that pot was so huge yesterday and wish I cd hv hit the river!!
Down to 3 players in event 1 and the guy that beat me is chip leader. Stings a bit, but I'm not a bitter guy. Or am I??????

The best advice I can give you is do your best to avoid marginal spots. We all make mistakes and all you can do is learn from them and make adjustments.
