I'm not positive all the details but the Voyager deal is with FTX.US which is not the same entity as FTX.com. I would imagine it'd be very frowned upon by a vast amount of lawyers and US regulators if they backed out and would be no bueno for their chance to remain operational in the USofA via FTX.US, but who knows at this point.

FTX.com, FTX.US and Alameda Research all filed for bankruptcy yesterday. The size of the "hole" is about $8B. Likely the Voyager and BlockFi rescues are off the table too since the rescuer is bankrupt and likely will be in litigation for years.

Reminds me of Ray, he got temporarily "rich" as he's aggressive and clueless about finance.

I just assumed he ditched his family again, hightailed it to the Bahamas, and is currently camping outside FTX’s HQ

as much as ray repeatedly ignored all the good advice he received and was the architect all of all these failures

like casually deciding he could just randomly beat vegas with 5 figure sports bets based on hunches and even when we proved how he could have hedged out of that bet to guarantee profit he instead did his own full ****** plan which only tagged in 5 more figures in losses

repeatedly told not to hold on voyager, how he was neither earning interest with them nor had recourse if they failed

yet i still feel bad for the guy, can't imagine a worse fate than to temporarily believe you're a millionaire and brag to everyone about how successful you are and then go busto with unpaid tax bills

like he told everyone as indicated by filming and taking pics of stacks of money, posting about it here, & even the commentators on the stream kept telling us not to worry about his punt because the guy had money coming out the wazoo - has a brief conversation with the commentator and still mentions "I've made so much money in crypto"

He was a millionaire (before taxes), but almost immediately blew it (on another obscure crypto, I believe).

yes, for like what a month or two?

no income & no other assets, pending tax obligations and he parks it all in shitcoin on a shady exchange neither earning interest nor directly holding his assets

just terrible decision making

he did luckbox a family and was sort of financially independent for a few years

he also doesn't seem to have any physical ailments that would preclude him from making more putting greens for cash, so he should not be completely screwed - I wouldn't feel too sorry for him

just another guy who punted away his good fortunes, the casinos are littered with people like him

Where did he admit to going busto afer making hella on MANA?
He hasn't updated this thread and Voyager didn't freeze withdrawals for over 6 months after his MANA score so that as plenty of time to get the money off there.

P.S. I had to stay away from this thread for a while because I joined in on MANA for the lulws but pussied out and sold early locking in 5 figure gains AND within 72 hours of selling I would've made an additional 1.3x my salary or some **** tilttttttttttttttttttttt

He bought Stellar Lumens which was actually one of the bigger, more reputable tokens around although it was a pretty dead project which didn't have anything too exciting going on.

he never withdrew because that would have been too sensible, he took the MANA money and went all in on XLM at an average cost of .29, even though btc has recovered from the bottom xlm is still sitting at .09, so even if voyager funds were accessible he would only have about 1/3 of a milly and probably owes close to that much in taxes. if he wanted to sell his voyager account on the open market right now id guess he could maybe get low 6 figures for it?
