Well, I decided to try again in Event #2 in Cincinnati on Sunday and made it into day 2 with 56k. Came back Monday and was winning every flip imaginable and going into Tuesday, I have 430k in chips. We are at the final table right now with 10 left and I'm sitting in 9th place in chips--there are around 5 stacks of similar size left. Hopefully I can parlay this into a win--that would nice! Either way, it's going to be a very nice payday.

I did see you Rayz, you were wearing the pinkish-red hoodie with sweatpants. Figured you were going to make a deep run. We never were at the same table though, you were at the front table next to my table.

@moaurlawn so super cool man! Take it down big fellow! Nice score either way! Sending positive thoughts ur way!

Again thanks for all the support I been receiving! From tweets to texts to messages to posts, it has been awesome!! So cool of u guys! Thanks muchos!

After they sent me home last night n 52nd place, the bad beat came when I was driving. On my way home, I missed the Louisville exit and drove all the way to Lexington! 2hrs turned into 4 hrs! I see it as losing another $20 in gas and 2 hrs of life I'll never get back. It sucked because when I got home around 10p the kiddos were already asleep! Ugh!
Well now, just woke up and on a whim, decided to play this $580 event 5(?) nlhe 6 max. Leaving now. Shd b at my table during the 2nd level of play! If come in the money, then I will def some more events. If no cash, then wait for the main.

Updates on Cincy and the $40k Friday, the day before my main starts.

Blah!

Heck of a run, I'm out in 5th for 15.9k. Had one of the toughest decisions ever in a 1.3 mil pot with AJ.

Action folded to me on button and I raised with AJs to 110k. SB 3-bet to 250k (his third time 3betting me). I flat call as my hand is pretty strong here. Flop comes 10 5 2 no flush draw, he cbets 250k, I call. Turn is an A and he checks and I bet 300k, he then goes all in for an additional 650k (somewhere around that). If I fold, I'm left with around 900k and if I call and I'm wrong, I'm crippled. I decided to fold and it was the wrong fold, he showed the 6d.

So that crippled me and got it all in on turn with top pair on flop and ran into a set a couple of hands later.

Need some feedback, as that hand just stung--would have been chip leader if I called. Do you guys make that call there? I'm getting around 2-1 on a call, though just a really tough spot for nearly all my chips.

Rayz,

I appreciate the support you gave me on the rail and wish we could have talked, I was just in game mode. I tried looking for you after I got knocked out and couldn't find you.

Hope to see you again, as I may now play in the main event on Friday or Saturday.

what were stacks pre and blind levels? also, what position were u in and what were the other stacks like? all of this information is certainly important.

My bad on the initial post, the pot was 1.9 mil when he shoved, not 1.3 mil as I stated earlier.

Seat 1 (guy that shoved) had around 1.3 mil
Seat 2 had 2 mil
Seat 3 had around 3 mil
Seat 4 had around 3.1 mil
Seat 5 (me) had 1.6 mil

Overall chip count was 11 mil at final table

I stated in the post that I was on button, and seat 1 was in SB.

Blinds were at 25k/50k with 5k ante.

I raised to 110k on button with AJs, he 3 bets in SB to 250k, I flat call
Flop is 10 5 2 rainbow--he cbets 250k I call
Turn is A--he checks and I bet 300k, he ships it all in for an additional 650k

So my initial post was wrong, as I forgot to add in his all in raise, so the pot was around 1.9 mil. It was a tough decision, as I needed to be right 25% of the time to make the call. He was playing pretty solid and was not out of line besides re-raising in the blinds.

I was actually putting him on A4 or A2, as A10 more than likely just flats the button raise. I knew he didn't have a set obv, he would check the flop. So it was imo, A4, A2 or a bluff. I am not sure he would take that same line with AQ or AK there. I don't know it was really thin and I was 50/50 on calling and folding.

Last edited by MoaYourLawn; 09-24-2013 at 07:23 PM. Reason: A4 and A2 would 3 bet in the blinds, since they do not play well OOP.

What was your plan on the turn when you floated the flop? Was there any chance that he checks down a hand with limited showdown value?

I think I prefer raise/fold the flop.

Congrats on the score @lawn. No worries on not talking, I completely understand.
U mentioned he was re-raising a lot in the blinds. That's sm key info. I been thinking bout this hand for a little bit, and it is a tough spot for pretty much all ur marbles. If wrong, looks like u hv just 5ish bigs left. A hand that I thought may b possible w this line is KQs w straight draw/flush draw only if Ace on turn makes a flush draw.(?) But depending on how much he is re raising in the blinds or if u hv seen any of his 3betn hands in the blinds...depends on if this hand is likely. It's a strong play from him, and u can pretty much only beat a bluff, or chop w same hand. If it is Ace 2 (2pair), then u still have 9 outs (10s Js 5s) if make an incorrect call. IMO, I can c Villain play A5, A2, A10 same line. But not sure he wd b 3 betting u n the blind w these hands. So AK, and AQ seems likely, but still not sure. U mentioned he 3bet u 3 times...were any of those while he was n blinds? Did u see any of his 3 bet hands?
I guess for me, it wd hv to come down to player perception, his 3betn hand range, and how much he was reraising in the blinds. Also, depends if I seen any ch/raising history. I can c a case for both plays, but if u eliminated sets, I'd prob call (Easy to say that now). When u float the flop and hit the magical turn card, it's tough to fold. i guess if wrong, u still hv outs to improve.(Hopefully 9 vs A2, and not 3 outs vs A10,AQ+). If right w the call it cd put u in gd position to ship. The payouts wd also hv something to do w my decision. I understand, it's a tough decision w so much money at stake and if wrong, ur left w just 5 ish bigs. if u fold u have 16. Very tough decision. For me, I'd like to say call, but it wd ultimately come down to "knowurplayer". Either way, u did great coming in at 9th in chips and getting 5th! 16k in 1 day = sweet! Job well done sir!

the bet/fold at this stack depth is pretty atrocious. if u have plans of folding to a check/raise I'd check behind all day. sucks u got bluffed but u live and u learn, get em next time. he was pretty short to, I hate this bet/fold, maybe I will look at it later more in depth but there was a ton to be won and u have a pretty good hand. that ace is a decent card for him to bluff to given the action, if u were pretty sure he didn't have a set and u have any equity at all vs his range, which you do, u have to call. ya, it appears u r getting like 3.4 to 1 to call, in which u should snap call. u have to call the additional 650k to win 2.2 million, again clear clear call, especially when action is now closed and u have a chance to eliminate a player, icm implications would suggest widening even more under these circumstances.

First off NICE RUN! You final tabled an event which is quite the accomplishment in a multi entry. On to the hand.. I agree bet folding turn is bad as the A (or J) is your gin card. I think the call on the flop is ok because when he 3 bets out of the blinds he is betting flop with very high percentage. This is why a flop raise is a viable option. Even if he has a T or any smaller pair than a T then you have 2 overs ~23.7% equity. As far as preflop is concerned, AJ is pretty strong when you're short handed. I would've considered putting in another raise preflop as he is assuming youre opening wide.

Yeah the more and more I thought about it afterwords, I think it's a call. Just a crazy spot to bluff with a check raise. My mistake was betting the turn, I had thoughts of checking the turn. While he was active in 3 betting out of the blinds, he wasn't ever out of line when it came to the turn or river--he played it pretty straight forward throughout the tournament.

Oh well, it was one of those decisions that haunted me all day yesterday, and I'm slowly getting over it. Considering I had a huge suckout with AK vs KK during 8 handed play, I'll take 5th gladly--no complaining here

Thanks guys for the feedback.

BTW, if he reads this, congrats to Jason Hill on the win--that guy was getting hands like crazy 5 handed when I was there. He deserves the win though, very nice, humble guy. Did not expect him to win that final table, though heck of a job.

How men and women record things in their diaries…...

Women's Diary:

Tonight, I thought my boyfriend was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much.

I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing..' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.'

When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep; I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

Man's Diary:

What a bad bluff!! Who bluffs a "calling station"? Ugh!

If dont cash in the main event, then made $200ish the last 2 weeks of poker. If cash in main event, then made $200 + Xcash = last 2 wk earnings.

Just glad the first of the month is almost here, and will soon be collecting rent from the 7 tenants. Hooray for the 1st of the month!

Update on $40K:
$28,056 cash -$1.473. tournaments = $26,583 over all.

Hey man GL in the main on Saturday, I am not playing--having wedding things to take care of Saturday.

I have to put in a little brag that my mother won a seat to the main event through the cash game promotion they had and I have been coaching her and she is currently top 16 to end day 1a.
