That seems way too conservative for a well balanced portfolio.

Of course it is. Their demographic is people that can't afford Gucci. What % of old money do you think is wearing Gucci?

Always been competitive in sports and with myself. Setting goals and challenges hv helped pushed me to new levels. Never came from much, but never struggled either growing up. Bmx’er, skateboarder, and the sport that was in season was my jam.

It wasn’t until 2003 that I stopped everything to pursue poker full time. Perfect timing because I landed a teaching job right outside of college and knew the first day walking into my classroom that i didn’t want to spend the rest of my life teaching math. Felt I was capable of so much more. Not that teaching wasn’t an admirable profession. It’s just wasn’t my profession. My desire. My dreams. Wasn’t me. Me is being the top of the top. MVPs, Oscars, Pulitzers, Grammys, changing the world, inventions, and money. Selfish selfish selfish money. Who cares bout molding the middle schoolers w Rayz knowledge, and teaching them math they will never use. I wanted more than that. Wanted the stuff I always dreamed of having, but knew the chances were slim. We wanted that.
I wanted to create my own destiny w no structure. My own path that will create itself if I just keep pushing forward. Wanted to go after “it”, but not knowing what “it” was.

I was gd enough in poker when I started. Just the will to win and knowing numbers was enough at first. Remember being little scared playing in casinos at first, but then by end of the year I was walking in my local poker room like Conor McGreger. After first full year playing professionally, i knew this cd b something bigger. Something long term. Poker was gonna be my plan for everything.

Poker went well for many years and was the avenue for some other business ventures I had in my life.
It was 2013 when life became stale, i decided to reach out here. I knew I needed to refocus on the pokers, and needed the 2+2ers extra support for motivation. Found all that here.

We started w a simple $1/$2 no limit Holdem challenge in 2013 to make $40k. Each year since, we made some new yearly goals. Again, each year was to push me closer to my destination. Still didn’t know what I was going after, but I’d know when we got there. Year after year, poker was the base, but stock trading crept in, entrepreneur ideas crept in, sports cards crept in, crypto crept in, and few others I’m prob forgetting.
Somehow we made a million dollars this year and I’m still trying to think if we made it. We bought the Tesla, the $800 Gucci shoes, the Willie Mays rookies, but something feels off. We are capable of something bigger.

We ain’t stopping.
Thanks for following this 2+2 journey w me.
Rayz
I'm new to this forum but I wish I was here since 2013 to follow along with this. I read a few of the first pages of the thread and then some of the most recent pages. Seems like an amazing story

Welcome. Ty.

I’m not even sure how to recap the thread at this point.
If I had to do in a few sentences, it wd be…

We fought hard grinding, sacrificing, saving. Because of our hard fight, we got there to milly status. Now we splurging, shot taking, and looking to for a level no one thinks is possible.

Thought the thread wd end at a milly, but I hv some things up my sleeve. We gonna shock the world. #believe

Oh the shoes came in today. Just loud enough.

As someone who likes sneaker culture but has never really owned anything super special - do you wear shoes like that out? Would you wear them to a club or would you be worried about them getting trashed?

I like the shoes actually. You should get some Louis Vs too.

If I were to guess those shoes are probably somewhere around 1300-1500.

I guess my sense of fashion is different but I think those Gucci shoes are just ridiculously gaudy. At some point doesn't a person age out of wearing something like that? Like, would it be unfashionable for an 80 year old Ray to wear these shoes? I think yes. So what would be the age cutoff for a pair of shoes like these? I would say probably early 30's. That's just my opinion. I also think jeans on an older person is weird. Like once your past 60 you should be wearing slacks out in public unless you live in a rural area or something. Maybe I'm not cool, but I just don't get it.

If I was going to spend 1k+ on a pair of shoes, which would require me to be a millionaire multiple times over probably (or maybe just having a job), I'd buy some really classy dress shoes. Maybe these alligator skin shoes.
