new setup working good
you can add nl100 tables when you reach 4000$. You are very disciplined and I don't fear you if things don't go your way. You can grind back at any time.

Bankroll:

Hi guys, tommorow i will do my first 100nl shot. I will mix 50nl with 100nl. If i drop below 3400$ i will stop the 100nl tables.

I am also waiting for a new desk so my setup should look better

New goal: Do 1 home workout per day for 30 days in the row: I have done 3 in the row right now so 27 left. It's a pretty basic workout of 4 sets of pullups 4 sets pushups 4 sets squats.

I mainly do it to create the habbit of working out again. I start the workout right when i wake up, it really boosts my mood doing it first thing in the morning.

Graph since new setup:

Very inspiring thread. Definitely makes me feel like getting back to the tables and working on my game after seeing your improvement over time.

Best of luck at 100nl!

Hello
This is my first post as i just made an account to reply on here as you have inspired me to try and emulate what you have done in this thread, my bankroll is currently $57 and im hoping to start at 2nl and do what you have done as i have only been playing a few months and have lost about $200.

Today i am going to purchase blackrains crushing the microstakes and take notes on it and probably read it again afterwards. i also have vermeers "building a bankroll" but i havent really read it properly or took notes etc, would you recommend i read this also?

Also would you say that holdem manager is a must at 2 and 5nl? I downloaded the trial version of it and it made my laptop run so slow that it was unusable so i was wondering if it was a must to have hm2?

The problem i have compared to you is that i work 4 days a week and dont have the time to put in the hours that you have done, and my goals would take longer to achieve, but im willing to grind it out and hopefully get to $120 so that i can play 5nl.(or maybe i should wait until $150?)

if you could answer my questions it would be greatly appreciated and im loving the thread.

thank you and good luck

Hello and thanks a lot for the nice words.

If you want to take the game seriously then yes hem 2 or pt4 is a must. you put yourself at an avoidable disadvantage if you dont use them. If your pc cant handle it i reccomend to invest in a new pc first.

I would reccomend playing nl2 until you solve all your beginner's questions and beat it for at least 7bb/100 in a 100k+ sample. I dont see a reason to move up from 2nl if you dont crush it.

I havent read ''building a bankroll'' so i can't comment on it.

Dont rush things or you will just have to start from the beginning again.

Good luck

Hi i took a break today because i didnt sleep well and i cant focus. I played a few hands at 25nl and broke even.

Bankroll is at

Goal Progress: workout at home 30 days in the row:6/ 30

Today i added dips in my workout routine so now it is like this: dips, pullups, squats, pushups. x4 sets each exercise

i start to like bodyweight exercises a lot, and the convenience of working out home.

If i complete the 30 day challenge i will post how much my strength improved at each exercise, it should be interesting so you can have a picture how much you can improve if you do this workout for 30 days in the row.

see you tommorow

Nice results. Still no hands itt tho

It's cool yr on the strength training grind but I'm not sure if doing the same exercises 30 days in a row is the best way to get results. It's better to have some rest days or alternate yr workouts to allow for muscle recovery as that's really when the gains happen.

But u already has big biceps, right

Hello and thanks, sorry for no hands

Training everyday may not be optimal for muscle gain, but i mainly do it for discipline reasons so i dont mind losing some EV in muscles :P

Seems you have the classic small sessions if winning, large sessions if losing. Such a common mistake a lot of players make try setting hand/vpp goals per session and only stop if you playing particularly badly.

gl with the grind.

Hello and thanks. Yes i agree that its a mistake that i need to fix. But right now that i just moved up i feel comfortable to just quit if i win a few buy ins, it should be fine as long as i also follow a stoploss of 2-3 buy ins. When i get more comfortable playing at 100nl i will work more actively to fix this.

today:

Goal Progress: workout at home 30 days in the row: 9/ 30

I will change my workout a bit because my performance in the last 2 days was diminished. From now on until the end of the challenge i will do 1 day for legs+core, and 1 day for upper body. Tommorow legs+core.

the workout will look like this for now, and if i feel comfortable i will add more exercises slowly.

Legs+core

squats
Ab wheel
hyperextensions
lunges
calf raises

exercises done one after another, 4 sets total. 1-2min rest when each circuit is done

upper body:

pullups
pushups
dips

4x.

Today i put in a total of 8 hours on the tables, 4 hours in the morning and 4 at night. It was 25nl tho, i decided i am gonna play 25nl until the end of the month as i would like to work on some things on my game before continuing the 100nl grind.

I enjoy poker so much more when i dont feel the pressure of money. At 25nl i could keep my A game for much longer, while when i played 100nl i always had at the back of my mind that today i may lose 600+ dollars if a bad run of cards come and i would not be able to sleep.

Goal Progress: workout at home 30 days in the row: 11/ 30

I could do 9 pullups at the first day of the routine, now they have increased to 15. i am really enjoying the bodyweight exercises.

vs 15/11/3 reg, his bet stats were all very low so i dont think he would ever shove like this for a bluff. thoughts?

Tough spot. Imo it's a fold, but still wondering why a reg would risk you folding.. What would you were sitting on his spot and holding the nuts? How many times would you get a call with the river shove considered your actual stats? I'm wondering if a half pot bet would be better? A lot of multi table regs would call or shove. What do you think? I'm actually asking advice for your hand haha

I would guess he shoved because of my turn bet sizing, that indicated i had something very strong, so he thought i would call a shove with that sizing.

Sometimes he will also shove with a missed draw, but i dont think he will do it often enough to justify our call.

maybe im wrong tho, just my thoughts

if i was him and i holded the nuts i would mix it up, sometimes i would shove because of that turn bet sizing, sometimes i would bet less

In the hand you posted have a hard time putting him on a hand that beats us...AA KK 3 pre 1010 folds flop most likely...I guess it has to be JQs or the missed draw right? Tough spot...

Sometimes you split pot with AK as well....
