Hey Zima, WRT your fitness goals, have you ever tried yoga? I started doing basic yoga a few months back and it's already had a great impact on how I feel day-to-day.

I saw this video recently and it inspired me to check out the DDP Yoga program (www.ddpyoga.com) - I've only done a few of their workouts so far after sending off for the DVDs but it seems like it's a really good workout.

This has got to be some of the worst advice I've ever heard.

Yoga isn't a fitness program... ffs. Sure it's something to do which makes you active, but you're probably better off just walking since it burns a similar amount of calories and you don't risk injuring yourself trying to do some really awkward yoga pose when you're not flexible.

My hamstrings are ridic tight after working out for a week. been doing some stretching some at home and been making me feel better.

prolly will continue doing just basic stretching though.

Held a bag of ice during my whole workout today. people looked at me like i was an idiot, but boy, did i ever feel like i got a great workout in today.

Working out is going well. really liking it so far. might get one of my room mates to go with me as well, so that might help.

WSOP bink was pretty sweet. def puts me in a better spot financially. dont really want to get into things specifically, but its crazy how long it takes for a stable to turn the corner in terms of profitability. We always have made money, but in a pretty awesome spot right now in terms of how much make-up we have out atm, and how much we have in accounts, and how much has been invested.

Debating on going back to vegas to play the ME and see some friends. just not sure its the right thing to do. seems like i am in somewhat of a good routine at the moment, and unsure i wanna mess it up. the ME is really fun though.

Hi Zima, interesting thread.

I would like a quick bit of staking advice if you don't mind. I asked in MTTC but got no responses so I wondered if you might be able to help.

I'm fairly new to staking and I've got a horse who plays on 3 different sites which I specifically wanted him to play on. Then out of the blue he deposited himself on another site and played some tourneys with his own money without mentioning it to me.

What is normally done in this situation?

Thanks.

If you specifically set him up on three sites and didnt talk about the other sites, he should be free to do what he wants on his other sites. Maybe he shoulda asked you if you wanted the action (maybe), but if he was using his own money to play on that site, all that action is his.

Just want to add for Zima's benefit mostly - DDP Yoga is a fitness program. It's designed to keep your heart rate up at >120BPM for long periods (they recommend wearing a heart rate monitor during workouts), and was created entirely as a way to achieve both resistance and cardio work without high impact on the joints. No-one ever said yoga in itself was a fitness program.

I mentioned earlier in the thread i use donkbluff. its a site a friend of mine mad e for another backer and now its merged with P5s. there is a link to donkbluff at the bottom of any p5s page that has a video on it.

Just a quick question if you don't mind, hypothetically if two people start a staking business together, each contributing 50% of the capital/starting bankroll, but one does literally 100% of the work (any/all administration, handling of funds, talking to horses etc), excluding coaching which will be paid seperately, roughly what % ballpark do you think is fair in terms of profit split? Thanks in advance, nice thread and congrats on your successes this year so far, I'm sure more to come.

That seems dependent on number of horses and amount risked/expected return.

True, say aiming for 10+ horses, and no MTTs/Hypers to start (i.e. avoiding the highest variance games etc)

seems like 70/30 is about right. guess it depends on a lot of things though, but running a staking organization takes a lot of work.

both partners just need to be flexible and make sure they can change things later down the road if needed.

with a bankroll of 20k how much would you invest by stakees at sng and mtt?

Eh, i am not sure really.

Its really hard to get going in staking these days. I suppose its always going to get harder, as in 2008 it was prolly really easy to get a legit stable going.

If i had to start right now, and had 20k, i would try and get a good base of small stakes sng guys and just try and hammer out volume. It would be a grind, but investing in mtts with 20k just seems like suicide.

I am gonna be in airports for the new few days, so am open to answering some questions if people want to ask. Can be about pretty much anything and everything.

This summer went pretty good for us as a whole. we had 25% of a 700k score, a 77k score, 18k score and a few other 3-8k scores. we def made money on the summer, but nothing to great when you consider all the buyins. Live staking is pretty ridic and def not something for people scared of swings. It was pretty fun to have 6 guys in the ME, although none of them made it really deep. We recently added a really good grinder (bought MU from past staker) and am really excited to see how he will do with the state of the games as they are at the moment.

The WCOOP schedule just got released, and it looks pretty good. Sure it will be a swingy time for us, but hopefully it will go ok. We didnt really have any big scores during scoop, so hopefully we can get a nice one during WCOOP. Need to hopefully find the same run good we had for TCOOP.

How much horses do you have? Still adding horses or cutting down?

Got a lot of horses playing the same games and stakes?

How is the weight loss going?

we have 45 horses at the moment. We are always looking to add people, but have begun to be a bit more selective than in the past. we are always evolving our selection process and trying to make better decisions all the time.

The nature of MTT staking is that a lot of the horses will be playing the same games.

Weight loss is going meh. vegas really didnt help at all. i am low 290s, and hope to be in cabo for 3 months straight and see what i can do. I am hoping to be down to 250 by xmas.

Do you have a stop point? I guess I can split this questions into categories

Maximum number of horses?

Are there/will there be games you don't want to ever offer action for.

Do you have a monetary figure that if you reach you would bow out of staking or would you just continue to build
