Re: Sports Betting and Poker: $5.45 to $10,000 in One Year

Hey Hashman, been following the thread lately, really nice progress you're making. I've always wanted to start sports betting because it seems like easy money but I never really tried it, but you have inspired me to finally start. I'm just going to begin following the picks you post until I get a bit of a hang on it, because it all still seems foreign to me. I'm still a bit confused so maybe you can help me.

Right now, I just have money on 888 so I decided to just start trying with that until I deposit on other sites. Following your pick with the Giants, this a handicap pick, right? On 888, it says Giants -1.5 2.25 and if I put $4 on it it says Potential Returns $9. So does this mean I get $9 back if the Giants win by 2 for a profit of 5? So basically I'm getting a better price than you are? Seems weird to me but I vaguely know what shopping is so this is kind of it? I was confused at first at the odds but I guess there's two ways of saying it, 2.25 (to 1) which would be equal to +112 by the method you posted with, am I all correct?

Anyway, good luck to you (and me lol) and keep getting better on the felt as well!

That would be +125, and yes, it is better odds than mine. Bookmaker is not known for good odds, especially for baseball. That bet means that we need the Giants to win by 2 runs or more. Thanks and good luck!

Oh right, that makes more sense, considering it's a better price than +115, I overlooked that part. Betting seems really confusing at first but I think I understand the gist of it, not as confusing as it actually looks. Thanks a lot

What a great 9th inning... I can see what you mean though about betting on MLB and looking at the starting pitchers. That bet did seem to be pretty good value, all things pointed for the Giants favour. Just need a hold next time.

Seems like barca should be way bigger favorites. Is that to win in regulation or to win the trophy?

Hrrm possible tilt bet? Seems a bit more than 5% max you said. Solid discipline up until this bet. No matter how much you like something it's still sports and anything can happen. Either way GL!

Doubtful. From what I understand of US politics, your democrats are nearly as conservative as our conservatives.

Yeah, like I said, do what I say, not what I do. Every once in a while I will need to break the typical bankroll rules I recommend on what are bets that I feel like are nearly sure things. Nothing is sure, you are right. I don't want to go much higher than this last bet I made. Any more than a quarter of my roll will most likely be avoided.

That's too bad that Messi was the only one of the Big Three not to score. He defintely should have got one. Barca should have scored 4+ goals.

Yes, the vast majority of US politicians are the scum of the Earth.

BR: 105.28

Horse racing was the first thing I ever bet on (not with a friend). The bet was on Real Quiet to win the Derby. He may have come up short by a nose at the Belmont, but I think American Pharoah is just the kind of majestic horse that can finally end the Triple Crown drought. I like Baffert to finally get it over the goal line today.

American Pharoah -125

Risk 3.75 to win 3.00
