Im huge fan of sports bets, love it more than anything, but Im terrible on this... Im a big loser ... I win ok at poker, and lose at sport bets . But I enjoy more sportbets than play poker , lol .

One question: what you think about handcap bets on basket ? Is it possible to beat the rake ? Rake is 17%, seems imposssible to beat . Theres many games I see that seems the house is trying donate money, with some dream bets . Theres many games that I won , but I don't know if its luck, or if Im doing good bets .

I have some theorys for basketball handcap... but sometimes seems theres no logic on basketball. Any tips for an amateur that love betting ?

Today theres 3 games that I see lots of potentials, all from Philipines WCAA league .

I don't have a clue about this teams, but every huge handcap I see potential:

starting in 40minutes, theres a -48.5 handcap game starting . In 2hours starts a -58.5 handcap and in 3hours, -67.5 game . I will stay saturday night at home smoking and betting on this games.

My strategy is very simple: in the game -48.5, if favorite team start playing great and opens a nice diference in the 1st quarter, I will bet on -54.5 or something around that . If keep destroying, I will bet more at -60.5 . If favorite team start playing bad, and handcap drop to 45, 42, 38, I wait until 2nd quarter, and if start with 6+ points diference in 2nd quarter, I will take the favorite . If 2nd quarter start and favorite still not crushing, then I will bet big on +38, +35, or something like that.

Thoughts on my betting style ? Is this good , bad , or just luck ?


edit: today its the final FIBA americas cup . Im willing to bet on +8.5 venezuela . I watched yesterday game that Venezuela beats big favorite Canada. (game openned -20.5 to Canada, and Canada lose). Also, Im betting on few friendly matchs at Venezuela, and always good results... Played against some european teams and did good .

I dont know anything about college football(I do watch NFL) but I had no doubt after watching the first half.

Iowa has a much better team and chance of Iowa st. scoring as many points as they did in the first half was slim.

I started at $5.45 that I won in freerolls, and now I am around $700. My tip would be to bet sports that you know or bet following someone whose picks you trust.

Those lines are crazy! I am sorry, but I know nothing about the basketball games you are talking about. I know American college basketball and NBA ball pretty well. Regarding the pushing in all those bets during the quarters, that is not my style. I like to make one pick on a game at a point where I feel like I have a real advantage. I think simplification is the key to success in many areas.

hey hashman, been following since day 1 and I'm quite impressed. Ive normally been a NLHE player, but haven't played much in the past few months. I've actually picked up quite the interest in sports betting. A couple questions for you.

What % of you BR do you bet?

Do you have to know quite a bit about the games you bet on? Or do you do a quick search on some stuff/follow someone else's bets?

My sports betting BR is at $29 now, how do you think I should tackle this? go all in on obvious wins? or do a couple dollars here and there?

If you have a bankroll that you are trying to protect, I think that it is best to try to keep your bets to between 2 and 5 percent of the roll. However, for the challenge, I am being very aggressive in spots I feel sure about since I want to accomplish the feat in as short a time as I can. If I were you, I would bet big when you have a game you are sure on. Otherwise, it will take a long time to grind up the $29. Oh, and one thing I have learned over the years. You can almost never be sure on a pro football game. I say that since you have Brady as your avatar. I am not sure what you will be betting, but I would refrain from the all-ins on NFL games.

I forgot to add, Kounterfit, that I do make all my own plays. I am a bit of a sports nut. I love a wide variety of sports, which makes it easy for me to track what is going on. However, I do research for every pick I make. This research varies by sport, but the truth is that the research has to bow down to my gut. I always try to listen to that little voice inside of me that tells me when a pick is good or bad. Sometimes, he shouts at me, like he did on the Iowa play. When that shout happens, it is best to listen.

I don't think E-sports are something worth betting on, especially LoL. It's very unpredictable, especially because we haven't seen these teams compete against each other with this new patch, and we don't really know how all the behind doors scrimmages are going right now. With that said, I expect TK1, EDG, Fnatic, and LGD to make the semi-finals. I would have liked CLG as some serious upset contenders, but without Xmithie, they might not even get out of their group. I'll be cheering for them though.
