Latest Update:
Starting Bankroll: 12 Euros.
Current Bankroll: 22 Euros. P/L: +10 euros.
(day 1)
-------------------------------------------------

In this blog I'm going to chart my progress at trying to build a bankroll playing poker mostly, with some small percentage from betting (betting more for recreation really).

I've never managed to get anywhere near where i wanna in poker because i haven't followed bankroll management. Even recently I decided to follow decent bankroll strategy then read an article by a pro which said basically at very small levels it pays to take risks (the example he used is if you have less than 1k$) well my bankroll is nowhere near that so I duped myself into thinking i can take shots again... and surprise surprise no more bankroll.

I lost my job recently (long story) so have a fair bit of time on my hands for the next month or two and would really love to play poker and build a bankroll at the same time. I also like watching sports so would like to place some bets.

So my plan is to only buy into games for poker when I have 20 buyins or more and to only bet 1/20th of my bankroll at any time and always stop after 2 losing bets in a day.

I just deposited ten pounds (12 euros) and played 4nl (the smallest on the site, so this is the exception to the 1/20th rule) - and I ran the bankroll up to 22 pounds. Which was good.

I then had a go at some betting but it went really badly. First I tried to bet 1 pound on a tennis match and accidently pressed one twice... so ended up betting half my bankroll. Luckily the site has a buyout option on it which I used immediately for a loss of about 1.50 pounds.

I then placed my 1 pound bet, and it lost, and another and that lost. So my bankroll is currently at 22 euro 76.

I'm going to update my progress in here from time to time. Gl at the tables.

Had a good day today, managed to take €5 from Struff and Chardy tennis match backing Struff as the outsider. Had a disaster at start of day crippling bankroll at 4nl just running into top of ranges, eg. Straight into quads, backdoor jack high flush, checked to oop on river by nut backdoor flush.

Good news is I just took down a €500 MTT I had a ticket for, for €225 profit which has really boosted the bankroll. I psyched myself up before the game and made myself have a positive attitude, when I got a big stack I used it well, and I was nicely aggressive on the bubble and think I adjusted very well to my opponent heads up.

For now will try some 10nl as bankroll is good enough for 10nl now, gl at tables.
