Well I certainly turned it around with a 4k day at 180s (3k day overall)! Here are the numbers: I had 27 cashes at 180s, 19 final tables, 2 3rds, 5 2nds, and 3 1sts. It would have been nice to grab more firsts, but I'm not complaining! I even had a $27.50 360man MTT that I lost a big flip in and finished 11th. Looking over some EV stats: I won 777k in Chips when my EV was 411k, which isn't a huge difference considering I've had days running above/below with a 2mil chip difference. My bb/100 was 1.66 when my EV was 5.12, which probably means I ran bad early and good late.

Anyways, yeah it was a pretty good day. Of course I continued my trend of losing at MTTs/45s/18s, but I'm not too worried yet as they are still small samples. I wish I could have played more on the day (9+ hours), but games stopped loading and suddenly I found myself in a bunch of $7 games. I did drop my tables down to around 30 and enjoyed playing comfortably. I think I'm going to stick around that area at least until my computer stops lagging. I found out that I have a 32bit OS on here so only 3gb of RAM is being used. I may just go out and buy a new laptop since its been 2+ years.

I'm still noticing that I am making mistakes. The only thing that tilts me is me costing myself money. Some of them are getting it in too weak, others are shoving/calling ranges being off, along with some lag induced misclicks (mostly folds). I'm a perfectionist and I'm going to work hard to limit these mistakes.
I think maybe vs me a bit wide but thats because i call too wide and dont listen to ICM enough, vs most its fine. And great day man sick job

Definitely do this. Get a Solid State Drive (SSD) as one of your hard-drives, and put your OS and all your programs on it - including your PT3/HEM database. This will show far greater improvements than a little more RAM. I've recently made the change myself and I'm extremely happy with it.

Yeah, I purchased a custom built desktop a couple months before black friday:
http://simplicity318.blogspot.com/20...l-trigger.html

I haven't gotten around to shipping it. It's definitely worth the fees to ship the desktop/monitors, but I've been trying to avoid the hassle of having it shipped. But yeah, I'm either going to have it shipped or look to buy another laptop

I was forced to play crappy games when I decided to make a last minute SNE run. I hopefully won't be making that mistake again.

I decided to switch it up and go with my overall graph/results along my daily results as this should show more meaning. I won a couple 15/180s to secure a profitable day and I actually made money at 18s-45s for a change! I'm still having trouble cooling down efficiently as I've been loading 2/180s, 7/45s, and even 3/45s when ending my sessions. I suppose it's better than loading nothing, but I may start loading 18s earlier forgoing a break or two.

I'm getting off to a late start today as I decided to take care of some things I've been putting off since I got to Canada. Who knows, I might not play at all as I haven't taken a day off ever. I did a quick update to my blog for anyone that's interested:

I took the day off on Tuesday. I ended up making $52 off Razz though . I've been on a downswing recently after putting in 18+ hours the last couple days. Today was pretty rough. Nothing seemed to go my way which is a pretty common pattern in 180man sessions. I lost concentration near the end of my session. It's hard to explain, but I just didn't want to play anymore so I didn't focus as much. I need to work on playing my best at all times and limit myself from distractions that I impose on myself.

I've been losing at everything except 180mans (and Razz) this month. That includes losing at MTTs, 18mans, 45mans, staking, and sportsbetting. It's really annoying to see all my hard earned profit from 180mans being used to cover losses elsewhere. I have to keep reminding myself that I am +EV in all of those areas and that equity doesn't work like that.

However, with that being said I am going to start registering less MTTs and 45mans in favor of more 180mans. This is going to allow me to focus more as well as avoid some unnecessary variance that plays with my mind. I may also cut out 18mans from my sessions as it's really hard to focus on 3 different gametypes.

It's been a grueling week. I put in about 65 hours of playing time. I'm on pace to hit 50k VPPs and keep SNE for November. I estimate that I need to put in about 32 hours for the rest of the month. I had a 5k day on Saturday which is a personal record for me grinding 180s/45s. Besides that though there hasn't been much excitement as the profit for each day ranges from +$500 to -$1000.

I've contemplated whether or not I should keep this thread going. My aim was to use it as a personal notepad to write my thoughts, results, and areas I'm struggling in. It's embarrassing at times to have my flaws out in the open, but it's a good way to keep myself accountable.

I'm not satisfied with my results. I need to put a lot more time into studying my game. There are times when I'm playing that I know if I just put in an hour of studying before I started my play would greatly improve. It's hard to find the time though when I'm on a schedule.

Anyways, gonna put in some study time and plan to play about 9 hours today.

Why? Wouldn't I make less profit (profit+fpps+milestone) a month if I were to do what you're suggesting? My current pace allows me to attain 50k VPPs a month in order to keep SNE ($1,200 a month extra in FPP value) as well as an additional milestone ($2,800) on the year.

if you play less tables you can get better winrate and better vpp/game (think 30/60 18man or 9man along with like 15/180 or whatever)

masstabling this **** isnt the best option i think but maybe it is for you, cut out all the $7 and lower IMO.

I made a pros/cons list here on whether to play 18mans or 180mans. I ended up choosing 180mans for their enjoyability, ease of play, breaks, and the ability to play longer sessions. I may have a higher hourly at 18mans, but it may turn out that I have a higher monthly/yearly at 180mans because of the ability to play more hours. In the end I chose to play 180s because I thought they would make life more enjoyable. If PokerStars allowed relocated players to extend their VPP chase I may have chosen 18mans.

I'll probably end up recalculating everything at the end of the month and see if 180mans are still the best option for me. If breaks were added I would be very tempted to switch or mix them in.

$7s are used to fill when I'm severely low on tables as I have a cool down schedule where everything ends at the same time in order to maximize efficiency. You never explained why I should be playing less hours.

As planned I put in about 9 hours. Not much happened on the day to comment on. I'm a little behind pace for a 50k VPP month so I may start adding 15/45s over 8/180s. I've been watching TV shows while I play recently. I don't find it too distracting and it helps make the grind a little less monotonous. I started a bit early today and plan to put in about 9.5 hours.

I suppose it can be a pro as well as a con, but for me it falls under the stressful category.
