Long Time player. Long time loser. My goal is very simple. I have 164 dollars on Stars and my only goal is to end each day with more money then the day before. I will post daily results.

There are no rules I will play some cash some sit and gos and MTTS. Follow along as I will also post diff hands for player analysis to help me improve as I need it.

Thanks

Forgot to say I don't use bankroll management either so I may play buy ins that are a big percentage of my roll. Either way goal is the same.

So you are playing 1 tourney / day ? And if your only goal is to get more money then next day (means it doesnt matter how much you are up) why not just play 2nl or 1$ sng or some low buyin tourney?

Yeah Sipio I think you may be right. I think A min of 5 sit and gos per day or 3 MTTS per day will be required. I would set a cash game limit but I don't play that much

I played one more 7$ sit and go 6max hyper last night and didn't win. So down 14$ yesterday. I am going to set a new goal for myself instead of just trying to make a goal to be profitable everyday. I am going to set a money goal of getting to 10,000 dollars a year from now

Long time player long time loser. $164 bankroll to $10000 a year. You need to be more realistic.

without a bink and especially without BRM, I wager OP will be busto very soon. Not trying to be discouraging. Just trying to help you understand that BRM is probably the most important consideration if you really want to make it to the top.

also, your goals should really not be money-oriented. Having this focus on making money is more than likely going to lead to a big fat donut in your balance. The goals you SHOULD be setting should be along the lines of; putting x amount of study hours away from the felt per week, posting/reading threads in BQ every day, putting in x amount of volume per month, analysing x amount of hands/trouble spots to share with the forums, strengthening your mental game, etc. If you set THESE kinds of goals, then by the end of say 6 months or a year, you'll have a better understanding of the game and improve as a player and in the long run, the cheques will come.

Money is not what's important when setting goals. Improving as a player is what's important. The money that comes with being a strong player is just a bonus.

fold 76 immediately. you dont want to play hands like that early in a tournament especially not calling someone elses raise. just play tight preflop.

and your goal to end each day a winner is ridiculously impossible. poker doesn't work like that you are going to have some losing days. rethink your goal to something achievable. try to play well every day. you can accomplish that. not playing well every day but the trying part thats your goal. TRY.

yes the 76 hand wasn't the one I want to post. I was asking more so about the ace jack hand.

you need about 200 BIs to be an MTT player, 200x27 is ...

The way you play makes no sense at all, to be completly honest. You will be broke within a few days or weeks if you dont take it seriously, and you just dont. People said go and play 1.50 Sit & Gos.. so do it or leave it.

GL anyway

Was down to about 70$ but after playing a small KO event and winning 20 in knockouts plus finishing in top 50 I am back up to 128$.

However after reading replies I have decided to take a much more serious approach and will only play small buy in tournament and sit and goes instead of not worrying about BRM. Follow along as I continue my journey. Its sure to be interesting

Going to play some micro cash now as I do have the bankroll for this. I am curious however what is the minimum number of buy ins a player should have before moving up stakes? 50?

Use the hand convertor its hard to work out the hand.

Your raising a tiny amount pre and also OOP with a few players to act.

HI Bertz

thanks for the quick advice. One question, I did try to use the hand converter to post the hand above but couldn't figure out how to post it in my comment. Instructions please? Also I will be playing more tonight and Sunday as my day off from my full time job. Also am really going to take advice of people here and not take dumb shots as I have had tendency to do in the past. Patience is the key

Focus on SnGs. The variance in MTTs is too high. Even if you only play 2.20$.. your BR is too small. You have to play 6max or 9max SnGs only. Start taking notes.. and use a tracker of course to convert hands.

You are just very very randomly ITM (10-15%) at MTTs.. thats why you see so few mtt blogs. Because not many ppl grind them like cashgame.

Gl at SnGs and post charts.
