Tonite I played 1 regular table for one hour again.
After 55 hands I was up $1.77.
At least I didn't pay anyone off.
My stats were better too. VPIP 20 / PFR 14.
The discipline and patience required to play this game is no joke.
Sometimes I fold 20 hands in a row; sometimes more.
I realize that patience is one of my biggest leaks.
When I get a good hand I want to play and so I call way too much OOP. Then if I flop anything that connects with the board I will bet multiple streets even if my hand is only medium strength at best. This is all because I want to play and win, and I am tired of waiting.
Over the past two nights I have been a lot more conscious of my reason to bet or not to bet. Most of the time I am realizing that I don't have a strong enough hand to bet for value and my opponents are calling stations so I can't semi-bluff them off of their hand.
I must exercise discipline and fold; waiting for a better opportunity.
