got 90th in the Sunday Spark. Somebody openraised like 4x w QQ and I sat in BB w AK and thought about folding because it does smell like PP so much.

9/13 in 3$ - 1K GTD right now. only 298 up top..

Big 16.5$ again

What can we do different here?

So what's the best line in those two hands?

Raising small doesn't really shine since with 20BB left, raising and folding to a 4BB bet doesn't seem so good.

I don't rly like spazzing around but I don't like coldcalling and facing hard decisions on very likely overcards (or a 3 for that matter). Don't even know if I would have been capable of folding the 7s after getting 3bet otf. (Maybe he'd just flat, who knows) He wouldn't have 66 in his range all the time, but maybe he shoves 33, Ax, 67 for us to make it not that horrible to call.

I meant raising a 4BB bet with 20BB and then folding to a 4bet is horrible.

AK

As played, flop is a clear check when you 3x you narrow the Bb defending range considerably, so this texture is very good for him. If you make it 2.2x there more of an argument for betting small for protection/value however I think it still a clear check OTF.

77
jam or fold pre. Folding prob better but jamming will make money, but not much.

As played getting it in is ok

my Session Lord automatically makes bets larger if we are more in EP. So in UTG it's like 3.5x and in BTN it is in 2x. Maybe I will change that up a bit. Guess it's made for cash.

77 is a fold for me then, I wouldn't 3b AJ vs a EP raise also.

AKo - 3xing off 22bbs is lolbad, we don't really accomplish much other than giving us a lower SPR on flops and making people more hesitant to 3bet us. A 2x-2.2x raise in this spot is best. Flop is a pretty standard bet/fold.

77 - A flat here is pretty bad off 22bbs and just invites the blinds into the pot, we do not want to have to take a flop multiway with 77 and we don't have the correct odds to setmine. Readless, I'm probably just folding 77 here preflop vs an open from a 23bb stack, if the opener has >30bbs I'm more likely to reshove, I also think 3B/folding is fine here as we look super strong when doing so. 99+ AJs+ AQo+ KQs+ is a reshove regardless.

As played flop shove over is pretty standard over his cbet, we flatted pre and got the flop we wanted. Flatting isn't an option.

thx

what stack size /position would we need to allow us to openraise more than 2.2x here?

same with 77, at which stack size do we flat? At 30bbs I'd rather setmine (readless) because I still perceive EP openings as strong (88+, so even 3betting 99 is borderline)

If we are ahead now then after flatting we will be still ahead most of the time. So if this was a HU Pot, would flatting enable us to get villain to barrel another time with air? Even if a scare card hits, the SPR will be 1:1 so basically no scare card will scare us out of pot commitment.

Recipe for disaster or what?

played the Monster Rush today and got it in @ FT w AA v QQ for a 700k /2nd place pot.

Board was so ugly. First he hits a flushdraw on a monoboard, turns a set and rivers the flush.

Got 7th. Meh. Anyway, keep on grindin
