Last week was bad all around. Poker play was sub par, slacked on diet, and my workouts weren't very good. Hoping to change it this week with a couple key things I plan to do differently. First of, a big reason I slacked on my diet is bc I didn't prepare. I will have all of my meals pre cooked this week (just finished cooking for the next 2 days) and I also plan to eat the same exact thing everyday which sounds boring but will definitely help with my goals. Another great thing I started this week is an accountability "prop bet" with my roommate @randal_graves. Basically, we set goal weights for ourselves on a monthly basis and if we don't hit the number we have to pay the other "X" amount. This arrangement will last for the rest of 2016 with the final weight in being 12/1.
Poker wise, I had not so good results but that tends to happen when you play sub optimally. I had a couple spots that were pretty easy folds and I called anyways. I've also been focusing on small things each session to improve my overall game instead of trying to improve several things at once. As far as hours, I ended up with aroun 37 for the week. I am attempting for probably the 50th to put myself on a schedule this week. I always tend to be more productive and efficient with my time when I have structure.
8/15-8/21 Goals
-50 hours of cash
-Start reading Managing Oneself, By: Peter Drucker
-Review any trouble hands and post them ITT
-Start "Couch to 10k"
-Stay on a "loose schedule"
Good luck with the structuring. I can definitely vouch for its effectiveness. I used to just go to the gym with a loose program in my head and no time limit. It was marginally effective and I actually ended up Fing up my shoulder.
I'm a P90x guy now. It's not for everyone, but it was the perfect thing for me because it told me exactly what to do on each day, and once I start a video I never stop. I can also see exactly what kind of progress I'm making by just checking off the days on a calendar. I've turned into a list person. I list out everything I have to do no matter how big or small and I just start working on that list. Some days I get a ton done. Sometimes it's just one thing, but I find I'm far more likely to stay productive if I'm taking things off my master list than if I just try to do things when I think of them or when I feel like it.
Couch to 10K sounds interesting. I'm working up to a 10K right now.
