I see a lot of micro-low stakes PGC created with goals that are unobtainable. I’m trying to avoid doing that. I’m making this with the goal of improving as a poker player and as a person. Playing poker helps me disconnect from other parts of my life, and forces my brain to work in a way most other things can’t force me to do. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone making this, but I think this thread will help motivate me to improve at poker, improve as a person, and will help with integrating into the community. To set a more finite goal, I want to be playing 100nl reg tables by the end of the year, which I think is very doable.

Here are my results from casually playing over the past 12 months.

ACR 25nl: ~30k hands ~ 2.5bb/100

Ig 25nlz : ~30k hands ~ 3bb/100

I’m in my 3rd year at University, so I don’t have a ton of time to grind. I’m looking to play ~3k hands/ week, roughly 7 hours of Zone, and studying close to half of my total grind time. I will be hitting this goal every week. I will be playing exclusively on Ignition, I think. Until the end of January I’ll be playing 25nlz and will switch to 50nlz in February once I’ve shaken some rust off and have done a little more study.

I’d love to talk hands and strategy in this thread and I’d appreciation input from players of any stake. I am interested in receiving coaching because tbh I'm not even remotely happy with my game.

Would post some HH to kick things off but HH Converter says "Internal Server Error"

Played atrociously bad at 25nl + ran bad last week. Was pretty weird experience, I was incapable of productively thinking and was just clicking buttons. I've started to talk to myself through most spots and its really helping with playing a more consistent strategy.

Started up a bit of 50nlz and already seeing really bad play

Thoughts on raising flop? Seems like we shouldn't have raising range but we could still get folds and have 35+% when jammed on. Turn, Snowie says call but idk

I'm going to be switching most of my volume to weekends. will try to get 3k hands between tonight and tomorrow. Once I get more hands in i'll start posting graphs

Any thoughts on the QJ hand is appreciated

Yes, QJs is not a 3 bet call. At least the way I play.

Here is a stream, and he has more streams under the Pokerstars videos.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/533375370

He also offers coaching, usually starting at 50nl.

Flatting a 3b IP with QJs is fine. You make it seem like he called with 72o, relax FI.

GL, I'm keen to follow. I am also going into 3rd year uni and playing exclusively on Ignition (only 10nl atm). My thoughts on the hands probably aren't worth much as I'm playing lower than you by quite a lot, but I'll give them for discussion's sake.

QQ hand seems well played to me. The 3b size isn't far off what I would think is optimal ($3.75? maybe a little less because villain is short).

In the QJs hand, I might be wrong but can't you pretty happily fold on the turn? You are losing to some of villains bluffs, the ones that you do beat are probably going to fire again on the river but you are only going to hit your straight on the river ~18% of the time. There's also not that much behind on the river when you call the turn, so you don't get amazing implied odds or anything like that. What did villain end up having in the hand?

In the KK hand, I would maybe make the flop bet a little bigger so that you have around a pot-sized bet left on the turn. Worse overpairs are more likely to call you down if you do this. I also think you get better protection against Ax hands if your flop sized bet is slightly bigger. I don't think this really matters too much though.

GL again and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your graphs!

Um, no.

Based on population statistics at play 25nl and 50nl on ignition.

I am showing its okay to call, we have an open ender, fold on turn.

Lose less money if fold to begin with.

Not treating as 72o, that's a Paisting shove

I have developed my own ranges, and am testing them gto wise, vs exploitation wise. GTO is call and fold, exploitation is raise on flop. BUT, QJ performs the worst (and I love that on the BU) over 34k hands in this situation. Which is why my recommendation.

You must be one of those sad nits I see if your folding QJs to 3bets IP.. lol, never a fold. Turn call is standard also. Flop raise is ok, I would raise that small reg sizing, and go with it as they are super out of line at 50z. Future must be getting run over badly on 50z.

I'm losing but I only have a 130 hand sample for that which is nothing. I was once losing with KK over 200 hands. Whats your fold to 3bet if ur folding QJs IP?

I haven’t analyzed the spot too deeply but I probably will later today. I’m guessing we have a lot of bluff equity on any river which makes it more attractive and we don’t have a ton of combos to continue with on turn. He had AsAx which I think is fine. I don’t love call ott but it’s probably fine. Just because you play lower doesn’t mean you can’t provide insight, GL bro, always feel free to comment strat

I think exploitative a flop raise is good. Also agree I could/should fold turn. But why do you say GTO is call flop fold turn? I quickly put it in snowie and it said call so I’m curious where you got your output. Appreciate the advice for Peter Clark, remember him from when i had a $10 RIO sub

Pot odds on that hand. He is betting too big. AND, we don't lose as much money chasing when we are not in the hand to begin with. What would you have done if he shoved flop?

Snowie is old. I developed my rfi ranges (and rfi call) using charts, and then looking at what I win with over large sample by position in database. I also use those to tweak my 3bet/4bet do and call ranges.

I use GTO+/CREV to hash the equilibrium, CREV has a max exploit tool, can compare the two strategies for a given range (makes for good bluffing). I also use Simple GTO trainer with core package for drills and play.

50nl is way more gto than 25nl on Ignition (for Zone). If you watch the previous video and the next video from Peter Clark on twitch, they show he is tightening his range. Watch for what he does with QJ in 3 bet pots.

PS, when he 3bet that large from early position, what did you put him on?

There really haven't been many interesting spots, a lot of folding. There are a lot of spots that I'm unsure/making mistakes, but nothing too terrible. I'll review them this week. I should also look into 3b/4b strat

Just posted these hands to hopefully give confidence to guys playing lower than me to considering shot taking on weekends if trying to move up. This is Ignition not PS btw

Too small 3 bet wants calls (my experience, this is Zone, no player reads). 10x is still big for this population, 8x or less gets the calls usually.

I am not rewatching 4 hour streams to time stamp folds with QJ. Nothing personal, you are free to skip through streams if you wish. There is a portion on that streams where Bu vs BB, he is in BB, and considers 3 betting QJ, but randomizer is low number.

You need very large samples to quantify it with database analysis. Even vs a tight range, QJs performs well in position. Even against a super tight range of only TT+ and AK, QJs has nearly enough equity to call.

UPDATE : Still running well. Really haven't been studying off table but I have been playing closer to B+ game more consistently which I'm happy about. I've also been mixing in some PLO which has gone well, unfortunately my ignition Hand Converter subscription doesn't cover PLO

To those playing 25nl on Ignition, if you play anything resembling a decent strategy you can probably game select reg tables and weekend zoom to be +EV at 50nl.

3bet is a mistake due to pop low fv3b%. Flop sizing? Obviously can range bet but vs field that over-defends pre is half pot better? Can I just say **** you and pot with Th, considering I still have equity when called by his range of mostly underpairs? Turn is mandatory bet right? Is river just a give up?

Been really busy with school. I got fisted by a midterm this week so I'll need to put in even more work there and will be getting less volume. Probably going to be updating every two weeks. Gl everyone

Last hand is played fine. 3b IP with this combo is fine. I tend to range bet bigger on dry boards like this so I like your intuition to bet bigger. I would say this hand is played close to perfect. We block JJ/TT which is big part of his RFI/c range, blockers to QJ/QT, and put 44-88 in very tough spot. Don't be results oriented. NH

I haven't been playing a lot but I've been crushing other areas of life. When playing I noticed I've been thinking about spots much more effectively, maybe this is because I've been adding in reg tables which gives me more time to think. But my poker mindset seems so much more mature. I'm really happy with my progress,

I am so completely lost on how to size turn. Stacks are awkward, I'm mostly trying to put 3bettor in a tough spot and maybe can induce from limper. Realistically I'm never choosing this sizing with bluff which are probably only strong draws.

PF, the hand is pretty and the BU seemed weaker.

Flop I think 1/2 pot is better considering his range is mostly over cards with 25ish% that often have to fold, and I block 55. If I choose 1/2 pot though it seems turns would be awkward.

As played turn feels punty, but possibly could still get better hands to fold + have equity when called by Qx. Just feels dirty to give his complete airballs with 2 overs a free card, especially with any river > 8 makes calling really difficult.

Enjoying reg tables much more with how OOL people get when they can't fast fold.
