Been following this for a while now! I'm in the same position atm re wanting to play MTTs but not always having the time (also living with the Mrs), and realising that SNGs are the sensible, easier way to get some more frequent income going. I have been struggling to stay away from MTTs (or balance them with SNGs) for some time.

Are you only focusing on the 180s/4.50 x's? The 45s and 90s are also worth playing in my opinion as you'll get so much more volume. Perhaps not so much the 90s given that they're all PKO but the volume you can get in 45s (plus obviously more frequent FTs) is worth trying. That's just my preference though. GL!

Thanks for writing and following! Yah, I've thought about adding the smaller stuff, but I will probably just be even less motivated for those. I think I'm OK with the plan I have this month of Noon until 430, doing three hours of 4.5s and then 90 mins of 2.50s.

Come December, the business side of things will definitely be a much more streamlined and easy to run situation, so as long as I can build up the bankroll from poker and not need as much outside investment, I'll be able to start adding in MTTs and moving up slowing building towards mid-stakes by May for SCOOP. But I can always adjust that plan if needed and decided to stay at SNGs and just crush 45s and 90s as well for volume.

satellite84 and wilbow, are you guys intrested in a skype mtt/mttsng studygroup? I started one with another lowstake player, we both have icmizer and runitonce subscriptions. It does'nt have to take alot of time its just a good way to get some food for thought. We just want a few players who are dedicated to getting better. If after a while you don't think its beneficial you can just leave no worries My skype is critz.221

Been slow going for a while. Been doing well in the 180 On Demands, but volume has just been abysmal due to time and money issues. Just have not been able to segregate money specifically for poker lately with personal and business related issues popping up.

I will be putting in a decent session today and as with everyday I play, I hope to bink, even something small like $400 or $500 that would be separate of my regular money and allow me to get on a consistent grind, which in turn would give me something to update here with more.

Anyway, I'll post about my session tonight or tomorrow morning.

GL heroes.

Hope everyone had a good holiday break. Or is still enjoying one.

I had a real nice run of about +$2650 before stopping my grind on the 24th for Christmas at my GF's family's house. I shipped the Big $5.50 on the 23rd as my final event for $1750. But have been making deep runs daily with loads of final tables and had chipped up a solid profit since the 15th when I began playing consistently again. I backed off trying to force myself to grind heavy volume and just focused on 8 tables with good game selection and a time slot I could really feel fresh and so far that's been working well.

I plan to put longer sessions in through the rest of Winter Series (except possibly the 1st, though at this point, I think I will just end NYE earlier around 1 AM, so I can still get up to play as my GF works at noon on the 1st anyway). But still low table count (around 6-8 tables the whole time). Anyway, we'll see how I feel grinding longer buy-in times, if it's not feeling good, I'll go back to around 4 hours per day of buy-ins only.

Anyway, here is some lobby porn for my win and I hope you guys have a good grind through the Series if you play and if not then I will see you in 2018 as this will probably be my last post. I'll do a wrap-up and reflection on 2017 with a plan for 2018 in a new thread likely.

I may also try to sell some action for some $55s in the Series in the new year, but not sure yet. Will post a link here if I do put up a package.

GL heroes! Peace.

Nothing exciting since my last post. Had one session with one deep run that I punted off. Will have one last big session on Saturday and then do a final write up for the year and start a new thread likely as I expect to be grinding more in 2018 (though I say that every year).

Peace.

Not sure how many people stop in here these days, but I posted up a package for some higher buy-ins next week of the Winter Series in the Marketplace if anyone is interested.

Have an own roll session tomorrow as my final one for the year, then will do a big recap post and new thread on the morning of the 31st.

So 2017 was a pretty crazy year personally and poker-wise it managed to replicate pretty much every other year in my past with slightly worse luck than usual.

I ended up playing only around 2000 games for the year, which has become standard for me. I start with the best of intentions, but I just end up skating by, playing part time and using my other income streams to coast on.

I intend to break that cycle in 2018, but I will post about my plans in the new thread.

We had some adventures overseas for the first half of the year, which I posted a fair bit about in here and were fun overall, though far more expensive than they were worth given the way our plans had to keep changing. Looking forward to starting this year in a much more stable situation with my girlfriend working full time, our business churning out a nice, consistent monthly profit and after a nearly $3K December poker-wise, which saw me bink my first BIG in quite a while, a decent bankroll to attack the afternoon/evening schedule Eastern time for the first half of the year.

So that is how I intend to look at 2018. The opposite of 2017. The first half of next year will be stable, quiet, inexpensive and all about working and saving. Then when our lease is up end of June, we will attempt to make a decision about where to settle down longer term and start saving for houses/weddings/kids/etc... (as of right now, I think Vancouver is the leader, but we'll see as it gets closer).

Anyway, thanks to all who followed along, sorry there was so many gaps like the 2016 version, hopefully the 2018 version will be more consistent and poker focused.

GL in the new year!
