Happy 2019 all,

I have silently played poker as a hobby off and on for quite some time now and have decided this year to make it official. I would like to chronicle my poker journey here for myself as I try to grind up a bankroll and have a whole lot of FUN along the way!!

I have decided to start my journey with Bovada 6 max hyper turbos. For starters I have attached a graph of my first 118 tournaments.

Look forward to interacting with everyone and GOOD luck at the tables!

200 Tournament Update: +$40.20

Current Bankroll: $234.49
ROI: 19.1%
ITM: 42% (1st=41) (2nd=43)

For the latest 100 tournaments I only 1 or 2 tabled and it seems to produce much better results than my first 100 tournaments where I played between 1 and 4 tables. I also did some studying and found a great quote within a Daniel Negreanu Article that discussed mindset... "Well, I tell you what, he is gonna have to draw out to beat me." This positive mantra I believe also helped in my last 100 Tournaments.

For inquiring minds about the context... http://http://danielnegreanu.com/are...nlucky-person/

I am hoping for the next 100 tournaments to continue my trajectory until I reach +$75 profit at the 1.05 Hypers and then take a $25 "shot" at the 5.50 Hypers.

300 Tournament Update: +$47.40

Current Bankroll: $246.99 (Won $3.50 in a Freeroll MTT)
ROI: 15%
ITM: 40.7% (1st=59) (2nd=63)

For the latest 100 tournaments, I seemed to break a little above even and my ROI/ITM %'s have started to slightly drop.

This 100 tournament experience was a bit all over the place and I imagine that will continue moving forward.

I am still happy with my play so far in this challenge and I am committed to grinding out at this level until I reach a 50 Buy-In bankroll before I take a shot at the $5.50 hypers which is the next level available on Ignition.

Goal Bankroll for $5.50: $275

400 Tournament Update: +$54.30

Current Bankroll: $257.86 (Won $1.87 in a Freeroll MTT)
ROI: 12.9%
ITM: 39.8% (1st=78) (2nd=81)

For the latest 100 tournaments, my ROI/ITM %'s have continued to slightly drop.

I have decided instead of moving straight into the 5.50 hypers that I will use any funds over $250 bankroll to attempt to move up and play 9 player $3.30 Triple up SitnGo's.

My hope is that I can use this approach to further build up a more comfortable bankroll at a possibly faster rate(have not decided how much that should be?!) for myself to pursue the $5.50 limit hypers. IF at any point I fall below $250 I will drop back down and put in more volume at the $1.05 Hypers.

Utter. Chaos.

Current Bankroll: $231.91

500 Tournament Update:
+$39.60
ROI: 7.54%
ITM: 38% (1st=92) (2nd=98)

8 Tournament Update ($3.30 9 person Triple Up)

Net Winnings: -$8.40
[/COLOR]ROI: -31.82%
ITM: 25% (1st=2)

WHAT A DOWNSWING.

Seemingly, the moment after moving down a level per my bankroll rules it seemed variance and an adjustment period ensued back to the hypers format from the triple up format. I can honestly say it was also due to a drop in my level of play and some tilt from having to move back down a level. I think I caught my own skid by taking a break from playing and also studying up on what errors I was making and making the necessary corrections.

After what seemed like a dream start to this challenge I have to be careful to remain steadfast to what my long term goals for my own poker career are and I hope I can take this lesson and learn from it. Back to the Grind at the $1.05 Hypers until I can get back to above $250 for my next 'shot'. GLA at the tables.

The fact you are thinking of bankroll rules means you're already ahead of most. GL!

Bit of a comeback.

Current Bankroll: $285.21

600 Tournament Update: +$68.40
ROI: 10.9%
ITM: 39%

19 Tournament Update ($3.30 9 person Triple Up)
Net Winnings: $9.30
ROI: 14.8%
ITM: 42.1%

I'm grateful for a bit of a heater in the last 100 tournaments in the $1 and a good turnaround start with the $3.30 but am struggling with the amount of time I am able to spend grinding while working a full time job and a newborn on the way.

I'd ultimately like to make poker a nice added income for our family but am struggling a bit if I'm honest about how to exactly do so.

I am thinking about tinkering around with adding in ($1/$2) MTT at the moment and see if that helps with building up a bankroll at a faster rate.

Any thoughts anyone would like to suggest would be appreciated.. GLA on the tables!

Lost the $2 and placed First in $1 for $36 which is about half my last month's winnings.

I will try my luck again sporadically and sprinkle in the $1 tournaments when I can but I will remain focused on moving up the ranks in SitnGos for now!

Current Bankroll: $320.78

Just focus on keeping the game fun, and what feels natural to your skillset. Don't force anything, and if the results come, they come.

I used to rely on the low stakes sngs to feed my family and it gets stressful when the variance isn't co-operating.

The game is finally fun for me again, and I think that's really important in this wild swingy game

gl buddy!

Thanks a lot HiThereGuy, I think this is the perfect advice for me at the moment and I really appreciate it!

Best of luck to you as well!

Comeback Kid?

Current Bankroll: $333.60

$1.05 Hyper Turbos

$3.30 Triple Up

Struggling with transition to Triple UPs from Hyper Turbos once again and it seems to be a lot more skilled to be honest then just push/fold decisions. If people would be willing... I'd like to post a lot more hands and spots where I feel uncomfortable. I wrote down 7 spots just from the last two tournaments I really didn't know if I was making the right moves so people can expect that more from me moving forward.

I really need to find out how to "study" properly and teach myself but I know that will be quite a learning curve! As always GLA on the tables

Very standard to just set mine and check fold this flop. I'm only re-raising JJ+ , AK from the sb this early in a sng. Probably folding JJ and possibly QQ to a 4 bet, depending on sizing and my read

If the flop checks through and a safe card falls, then maybe take a 40-50% pot stab at it.

Hand 2:

A fun one. Still fairly deep and was pretty card dead. Tried to use position and outplay my opponent who was loose passive and limped a lot of hands and folded a lot to CBets.
Villain STATS: VP 36/ PF 0/ AG .5

What is the correct bet sizing preflop, flop, turn that I should be using?

SB: 2,466 (24.7 bb)
BB: 2,523 (25.2 bb)
UTG: 1,400 (14 bb)
MP: 1,460 (14.6 bb)
CO: 4,161 (41.6 bb)
Hero (BTN): 1,490 (14.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 2h 3h
UTG folds, MP calls 100, CO folds, Hero raises to 200, 2 folds, MP calls 100

Flop: (550) Ah 5h 2s (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets 225, MP calls 225

Turn: (1,000) 3c (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets 275, MP calls 275

River: (1,550) 5s (2 players)
MP checks, Hero checks
Results: 1,550 pot

I'm not sure why you would play this pre?

Tight is right in the SNG's until you're forced to make some aggro moves shortstacked

However, as played seems fine. I'd maybe check back the turn for pot control.

Totally agree and have not played anything like this since. Results forthcoming once I finally reach 100 tournaments at the 3.30's but certainly learning the more I play these.

$3.30 Triple UP - 100 Tournament Update

It took longer than I hoped but I can't complain about my progress so far. I continue to learn about this format and look forward to continuing to put in volume and learn along the way.

Current Bankroll: $434.30

I will continue to strive to make close to 100Buyins at each level of my progression (before moving up a level) including the $1.10 MTT(+37 BI) I am throwing in to the mix now and again.

Good Luck All!!
