Also experience in these games is a huge factor, so if you don't have much HT experience you need to accept playing thousands of games before you start to even get a decent idea of things.

And thanks sippin, that VPP range was pretty arbitrary, definitely sounds like a lotttt of $15s-$30s though. The reason I did figure on that range though was because the soonest I would be able to move out of the U.S. this year would be around May, so I might be better off moving in the fall, grinding out a few 100k VPPs to practice good studying and playing habits as well as getting some practice with the games in, building a database of hands, etc. and then going for SNE in 2014, which I've been told is very, very difficult the first time around and I probably don't even have a remotely good idea of the difficulty level of it.
Ruse, you're right, I'm currently playing the 10bb starting stack hypers with no antes, I am almost in the top 20 on SS for the stakes I play though which is cool even though the stakes are small but yeah I imagine pretty much every aspect of them compared to 25bb hypers is different aside from the whole idea of taking extremely thin edges.. and having to study/review constantly.. plus the fact that even a few bad adjustments or leaks in my game can make me a losing player.
And jdawg, I appreciate the honesty! If I do take the plunge, so to speak, I'll be making a PG&C thread and I hope you'll all follow along, you know, to watch me crash and burn
