Here's the thing. Jdawg would have no problem driving me home if i asked. I dont have a car down here so he drives me around a ton. But him driving there and back when i could just take a cab one way there just seems selfish for me and inefficient>

Ive gone on some rants in OOT but there are two different kinds of favors. Ones that are a net gain and ones that are a net loss or just plain making someone do your work for you. Having jdawg drop me off at my place on his way north to TJ? Net gain because the extra work added to jdawg is less than what it would have taken for me to do it on my own. Same with me picking him up some food if Im going by a restaurant on my way to his place.

But if say someone asks me to run to the store and get them a gatorade when i wasnt going there already. Thats not a favor. That's him passing a task off to me.

Then there's the airport pickup/droppoff. Youre gonna make a friend drive there and back so you can save money on a shuttle or parking on a trip that shoudl be one way? Youre inconveniencing your friend more than youre saving yourself time/money. That's just plain selfish.

Obv this is a weird way to look at favors but Im a weird dude so thats how i look at it. A lot of stuff like giving rides is different too because cabs are cheap down here and with broke college friends a round trip for the driver is prob cheaper utility wise than the cost of a cab so YMMV.

Long story short, Apowers, calling me into your room to put a disc in your PS3 that's 10 feet away from you because you dont want to get out of bed is not a reasonable favor.

Normally I just buy my friend lunch for that sort of task and spend roughly the same amount of money I would on a cab, but this way we both benefit.

Is this still a thing? Wait until you go back to his place or go out with him somewhere and get him to bring the ipod. If it were a huge deal, then take the cab and go get it, but as it stands, it makes no sense why this is such a confusing situation.

Yeah i mean we do that a lot. This situation was a bit special cause Josh had been drinking and had to be up for a Scoop day 2 so i thought itd be super inconvenient for him. But regardless of the payback of the favor, having someone drive round trip when i could take a cab 1 way is ineffecient, imo

I did it myself. Had some problems at beginning but googled and found a fix. If main issue i was having was that you need to make sure you run the program as administrator so it can have control over other stuff. Im sure ppl in the software forum could be of some help.

The variable youre missing is that I need my Ipod for a lot of things. For one shoppiing without it is miserable. Same with working out. Cooking, cleaning. Going a couple days with out it is not an option. But after further thought the ipod i bought at walmart wouldnt have any music on it so basically the only option was going back to Jdawgs to get it and then cabbing home.

Rungood continued today. Couldnt get any 100 9m hypers to go off but the turbos were and seemed decent.

re the ipod issue. What would work here in Norway, but might not in less honest countries, would be to call for a cab-pick-up at jdawgs place, jdawg walks down stairs(?) and gives him the ipod, the driver then drives it to you and voila, ipod in pocket for only one cab fair and time lost for no-one.

Obv if cab drivers runs off with stuff in ol' mejichhoooo then **** it.

But Mexican has a very weak central government and Im not sure they have the technological resources to enforce w/e they pass. Stars has honored most other countries' laws but not sure if they would with Mexico. But even if it does pass it prob wouldnt go into effect til sometime next year. So you should be good to head down later this year.
