I think PS has a better upside so I would suggest playing there, FTP just doesn't have traffic and with the uncertainty of the stability of FTP (ie lots of overlays on mtts, not a ton of traffic etc), I would suggest just learning the PS hypers.

Got in a bit of a grind yday but it was server reset/turbo night so the games were kinda meh for part of the night. I also stopped a few hours early, so both of those led to me not getting in as many games as I was planning.

Ended up taking 3rd in the earlier $77 6m turbo, been running kinda meh deep in tournaments but that's how it goes .

Grinding a fair amount tonight I hope, just took 15th in a $109 turbo, loaded in mtt's through the 109 turbo at 1am my time (its 7:35pm now), so hoping to get in another like 4-5 hours of hypers.

Yesterday was a pretty lame day all around, didn't really get anything going in any mtts, only got a 15th in a 109 turbo and lost at SNGs.

This thread is probs going to be pretty boring all of March and April with me really planning on just grinding away and avoiding degening IRL as I'm running a bit tight on funds with this DS I went on as soon as I took part of my own action.

Anyhow, will be SNGing/MTTing it up again today and then Saturday/Sunday will be 2 huge MTT schedules. Waking up Saturday morning and planning to be on the comp late regging **** by the time the hot 33/8r/55 fo start.

Sunday MTT grind! Been at it for about 6 hours right now, planning on registering at least another 16 hours, maybe more.

Been pretty **** so far but just shipped the 30^3 turbo on lock for 1.7k (sun)

Went out last night with the fellas, will TR that later though as I'm grinding atm

Gla on sundayfunday!

So I moved down to 30s only since last sunday and grinded roll up a bit to where i could add 60s back in today. lolme

****s honestly just getting unreal. Seriously considering just giving up SNE chase and grinding out 30s and low stakes mtts. IDK if im cut out for this ****. Running like absolute AIDS at 60s and 100s also affecting that decision.

Roll is at like 6k atm. Gonna grind 30s and 60s and a few mtts tmrw and see what happens. Just so i have no regrets gonna try and grind hard through end of the month and then make some tough choices. Hopefully will have 200k vpp bonus by end of month which should pad roll a bit.

Currently at 140k vpps. YTD graph

Sorry for another emo post. Should prob just stop posting itt, nothing but whining about runbad and whatnot. gl tmrw everyone.

10k $30s for a month would be like 65,000 VPPs? Grind that **** out and get your sanity back for awhile, you don't have to fall too far behind pace.

If you play every $30 9-man that pops, your ROI is going to be pretty good at that buyin if you mix 6 & 9.

/Old man pep talk.

Keep up the grind, I gotta wait two years till I can move out of this country and do this; I live vicariously through your guys sickness, lol. You can do it!

I'm the ultimate nit but I have no idea how you can play your A-game with less than <200BI when you're in the middle of a 400BI downswing...

This sucks, and I feel for you, but you also know this is definitely pretty standard in the scheme of things. Your EV is good, and you are just running a good amount below it. Just got to grind it out. I like the old mans pep talk. Do that imo.

I think if you quit SNE now you will very much regret it when it does turn around for you and you are able to look at the situation a bit more clearly.

just go back to crushing 30 9 mans. this elite run is beyond ******ed. u would make more just playing 9 man hypers/turbos and have little stress

Thx man. Ill def regret it and being a lazy poker player there are few areas in life where i have to push myself so i think pushing through this and still accomplishing my goal will be good for me.

Thx buddy. How you been, you move up to the 15s yet?

So yeah decided to take gramps advice and move back down, most likely for the rest of the month. Shouldnt be too tough to reach 200k in 3 weeks of grinding them and that wont be too terribly behind pace and after 200k bonus i can reevaluate. Just so tough, like i was talking to jdawg about last night, to not grind the soft sat night 60/6m or 60 9m during weekend. But as has been shown sometimes keeping your roll and mindset right is more important than maximizing hourly and $/game

Yeah BBFG Im def being a little risky. I guess its part necessity and part just being able to move down if it gets low enough. And even worse/worse case scenario i can get a quick stake at a decent cut and grind roll back up. IDK i think im still playing pretty well and funny enough i feel like a vastly superious player to what I was back in January when i was crushing. Sippin talked a bit in his thread about how running bad forces you to look at all aspects of your game and it def has for me. Been reviewing hundreds of hands a day and starting to look at resteal spots i hadnt before and might even review some full game hh after this instead of just marked hands. I think more than anything the runbad is affecting my grind ethic and my lifestyle/mood. Being eating like ****, not working out as much. Getting ridic drunk and acting dumb.

So have my buyin capped at 30. Had been mixing in 9m turbos but i really dont feel comfortable playing 9m hyp, turbo and 6m hyper at same time. And traffic at 30 9m is so spotty that its hard to be effecient tablewise during sessions. So i think im just gonna do the 6m/9m grind all day. Gonna try and do a 1k game day here pretty soon, might offer some freerolls so stay tuned. gl everyone

hi friend

want some backing?

Haha Zima (sun), glgl this week ruseman, hopefully we both get out of our DS's!

So my Sunday mtt sesh went pretty ****ty, ran really poorly when it counted getting numerous 6th-27ths in tournaments. As per usual though, even when I lose at MTT's I have a really fun time playing them, really weird how much I can enjoy them when most view them as self torture . Ended up with that win in the lock 30^3 turbo for 1.8k and then shipped a small 11r turbo on FTP for like 600, but other than that couldnt get anything going, took 6th in the 22 6m turbo, 6th 55 ST KO on ftp, 11th 30^3 on PS, 2 F2T's of 109 turbos, F2t's huge 51 HT that starts with sunday mil, etc etc, think I lost about 6k on the ole MTT sesh. W/e, excited to grind mtts again next week!

Sitting at 240k vpps right now and will be attempting to grind a decent amount of hypers this week. Have a fellow grinder coming to my place on Tuesday (iirc) to stay with me for a few days while he checks out Rosa and sees if he wants to stay in this area, so might end up with less hours as I'm sure we'll make a trip to TJ + go out to eat a few times etc, but I'm fine with that. Said grinder was staked by my same backer right before BF, so I've known him for a good amount of time and itll be good to finally meet IRL.

Pretty much on pace with where I wanted to be at on the year if I ended up dropping 200s and moving down to 60s/100s (1.5mil pace). Graph below

Updated Month Graph (SNG only, pre RB):

Updated Redline Graph (Jan 18th and on after I moved down stakes and reset HEM):
Hopefully redline continues to trend upwards after that absurd EV DS

Yea other than that, don't really have anything fun to share. Friday night there ended up being close to 30 of us that went out in Rosa to a couple of bars in the shopping area over by Walmart, was a good time and I ended up meeting probably close to 15 people I hadn't met before....been distancing myself from the overall crew and just hanging out with a few people, so was good to meet some new people as a change of pace. The 2nd bar we went to is pretty sweet, they have a TON, and I mean ton, of different kinds of beers from all over the world, always fun to try some new beers!

After we left the bars, obviously myself and 2 of my 'normal' TJ degen friends ended up in Tijuana and next thing I knew, it was 7am and we were coming home with 2 girls from HK lol. Ended up dropping my one buddy off and went back to the others place but I was so f tired I just got OI and went home...he was fine with that anyway and preferred handling both girls (his words, not mine ).

So yea, ^^^ is why I didn't grind Saturday

Gonna get on the grind, kinda unsure what I'm going to do today after the big mtt grind yday, I feel like I'm tired right now, not really sure how long I slept before waking up around 11pm last night and its now 6:30am, might just be OI after the 2 $82 6m hyper mtts start within 30 mins of each other in 2.5 hours and go to take a long nap when I'm done with those. Might just be OI earlier than that though and go do some grocery shopping when I wake up early afternoon; my PA hasn't been to my place in 3 weeks so this place is trashed and there isn't a single thing to eat in my condo haha.

Gla this week!

How many of these hypers do you play per hour? ;o
03-11-2013 , 04:58 PM
ruse if you play 420 30s a day, you can keep SNE pace. I'm in the same boat as you, just grinding out 30s until this **** stops.
03-11-2013 , 05:30 PM
If I may offer some noob advice, how about playing a few sessions of just 6man turbos or reg speed just to get some confidence back. Although I don't play nearly has big as you when I down swing at supers and think I am the worst player ever ( which I am) when I switch to turbos or reg speed the games just seems so easy. Anyways gl!

ur entitled to ur opinion but the facts are jdawg is backed which makes the swings less stressful than ruse. supernova elite is what worth what 100k? ruse would make that just playing the 30/15man hypers with supernova rakeback.just saying with his roll he should just continue to crush 9 mans. maybe double it then have the proper roll to go for elite next year. also fwiw i said this to ruse at the beginning of the year

well I heard someone with ~equal skill as Ruse made 165k last year gettting SNE, starting IN DEBT with only a $1500 roll. Probably not a true story tho.

who was it ? I think some fish living in Mexicoooooo ?

Ruse keep grinding SNE, u r sicko u can do it easily

gl R & J

Pffftt on playing 9-mans with their 5%+ ROIs. BE or you're not livin.

I was rooting for Ruse to be the first SNE in years playing only 9-man, but the cool kids talked him into trying da 6-mans. Should make his own decisions obv. - it's just fun to peanut-gallery-suggest 13 different ways for him to get SNE/not get SNE, since he's been mixing and matching.

And like Sandman said, you can mostly keep pace at the $30s, or even get there at the $30s if you're a volume sicko. Once the sanity is back and the roll is better, it's very doable to do 100k VPP+ months mixing in $60s and $100s.

And Ruse would be pretty sick value for a SNE staker IMO, even on a very favorable split for him. Though pulling out of the $EV funk, grinding it back a bit, and SNE'ing on your own roll with decent pre-RB profit at this point would be awesome and epic.

GOGOGOGO!!!!!
03-12-2013 , 03:06 AM
Yeah, even if he "gave" up SNE he could easily just restart the pursuit after he learned how not to get crushed by EV. I think the most important part of getting out of a downswing is regaining confidence. For most that means dropping a level and crushing for a few days or weeks.
