Good post bud. Congrats on 10k. Funny I had my 1k post yesterday and didn't even realize it and dumped it in some stupid merge thread.

Anyway good luck with the not drinking. I'm in the same boat. I'm basically either going out and getting blasted or not going out at all. Two beers doesn't work for me (I'm actually allergic to alcohol, kind of interesting). So when I'm off the sauce (right now prepping for vegas and mexico trips coming up soon) I'm a hermit. Sounds like for what your goals are, what you want to do back in the states, and how hard you tend to go when you do go, going hermit mode for a big% of the year will probably do you a lot of good.

Good luck in TCOOP and in your grind

Just saw your post D3n. Partly cause i was thinking about writing a 10k strat post and partly because i wanted to get on pace and not being on 2p2 would help.

Just remembered i had a couple fun hands from today. QQ is super standard, moreso given BB is a reg, but its still fun to lay down QQ pre to KK and AA. And im prob stacking off there 6 months ago. 2nd one might be horribly played idk .

I mean I went through the math on this for what i'm guessing your range is and i'm pretty sure its not that bad... he needs 41.6% to call and has more then 43% with what I think your range is, I mean I realize there are a lot of considerations here and I think it might be a fold in a better structured tournament but I don't think its that bad here.

In any case open jam with 55 is way way better here, expecting mtt regs to ever care about ICM is pretty generous though :-P .

Also regs making smallish ICM mistakes is not even close to why MTT's are so profitable (like you have to realize that yea, its probably bad but his call makes your jam less profitable in reality), more like the fish in MTT's are the worst of the worst when it comes to games and the regs are absolutely clueless what to do postflop when you flat in position/are in a 3bet pot and they are oop.
            01-27-2013 , 06:09 PM
Ofc it's not the only reason, but it's a nice added benefit
