6 more days and I'll be in Mexico! Honestly can't wait, so tired of the cold and snow right now and the fact that I only have 2 good friends back home in Illinois .

I decided that in order to help keep my sanity during the SNE+ grind (and to get me some more live mtt experience), I'm going to try to travel once a month to play a liveament somewhere....most of the time will be LA or Vegas as it's super cheap and quick to get there. The CPC ME falls on my bday, so I'm going to go home the few days before the event to spend some time with the family before the tournament.

I *think* I'm going to set myself a BI cap of $5000 for live events this year as I have all my own action (besides what I sell ofc) excluding the WSOP ME; just would be nice to break into live MTT's without the variance of 10k's.

So far, I have firmly decided on playing these events (all re-entry but CPC ME)...

Feb 15: WSOPC Caesars $1675 ME
Feb 17: Venetian DS $2500 ME
Mar 1: Chicago Poker Classic $3200 ME

Well surprisingly I'm sure there were some people that took a more positive/constructive route opposed to whining about losing a % of fish.

I would like to point out though that asking someone if BF was the best thing to ever happen to them is a skewed way of asking them if it inspired them to improve and how they went about it.

Ive got some longer thoughts on the subject but using this break to cook and study. 1k vpps to go, decent profit and redline looking v good.

Had another DS to finish up but played well and redline was good. 9m went pretty well and i raked more per hour than I do in 6m. Have 3.65k to go. Gonna try to finish up tmrw, might mix in some 60s tonight.

Josh touched on it but we just wanted a fun thread so we could do our prop bets and freerolls. Josh is gonna be spending most of his time writg for his own blog so be sure to follow that if youre looking more for his stuff. Im going be doing a small occasional personal blog on his site as well.
Yes and no. Im certain that Im a better poker player right now than i would have been if BF hadnt happened. But the less skilled me might be making more money if the US market was as open as it was.

That's not to say that Im glad BF happened. From a completely selfish standpoint I think I am. I was stuck in a rut pre BF. Happy just grinding out 3-4k a month putting in my 30 hours a week. Still living in my hometown and rarely going anywhere except bars and parties. Id never left the States before this. Aside from becoming a better player with a better work ethic, Ive become a more rounded person and have gained some new perspective on the world. I personally had over 50% of my net worth on FTP and had to overcome some tough obstacles to grind it back up. Ive also gotten to meet some grinders irl and picked up some tips and tricks.

But I would def trade all this for how it was if it meant all my friends with families and kids didnt have to lose their source of income and large parts of their net worth. Just really pisses me off that these people had managed to make a living and support their families through poker, despite constant doubt from other people who questioned their profession Im sure, and then have it all crashing down and hear "I told you so" from all those people. IDK i guess theres a chance that some of those people are happier now than they were before. All in all Im happy with my life now and if that's the case you shouldnt have regrets because what has happened makes you the person you are today.
