Update #12:

Tagged 38 hands from yesterdays long session. Just finished reviewing them all. Mostly standard hands. A couple mistakes in execution. Some sloppy sizes. A few plays I felt were creative in the moment but wiz thinks are standard. Such is life.

Most curious part of today's study was some 200b preflop spots and some donk spots on equity changing turns.

Non poker wise - slept in, cleaned up, explored the city a bit, tried some bao buns, read in a park, played some basketball.

Now we cook a quick dinner and battle all night.

Wrapping up session now. There wasn't a lot of tables running tonight. Seems like weekend nights aren't that great on stars pa.

Reviewed all of yesterdays tagged hands. Gonna take break to watch game of thrones live. After that we battle all night again.

Impulse bought the new Kevin Rabichow course yesterday. Gonna be going through it the next couple of weeks.

Goal is to create a more structured study progress.

Update #15:

Volatile session today. Started off running well. Was up 3k when I pressed sit out all big blinds. Just sat out at all tables and now I'm down 1k on the day... Mostly standard preflop jam spots.

All things considered feeling good with my play today. Felt like I was in control most of the session. Tomorrow I'll fact check these feelings.

Update #16 -

Getting into a schedule of making monday my off day. Nice to take a break after the weekend grind. Also good to get some IRL/house keeping done early in the week to get ready for the weekend grind.

Getting back to reviewing hands from Sunday tonight. Will be running a session tonight.

Hopping on a coaching consult tomorrow. Exploring some db work in the pipeline.

Particularly swingy session tonight. Lots of big pots. Ended up even.

Update #18:

Reviewing some hands from last night. Caught two close spots leaning into one of my mental leaks. Just a reminder to myself that even though I've made progress in tackling these pain points they are still holding me back. Perfection isn't the end point. Being more self aware of these realities is what I'm striving towards.

Still sucks to see repeating mistakes in spots where I'm forcing action by taking overly ambitious lines. Creating a system to catch these hands and analyze why they happened mid session is a good start.

The biggest single improvement in my poker game was when I figured this out and stopped trying to force the action.

Update 19:

Very swingy night playing live. Was stuck 7k in a 2k cap game. Ended up clawing back a $700 win. Emotionally exhausting. Was nice to get back in the live streets but god damnit do you Mfers play slow.

Was able to review some Online hands earlier.

been having a pretty tough week results wise. Played in a live 25/50 game and lost a couple buyins. Sucks to run bad in big spots because you know it’ll be a while until you can find action that big again.

I’m going to post a little less details about poker strategy going forward. But will provide general updates from time to time.

Update 23-

Shot took 2knl for the first time this month. Sun ran hard. Made more in usd than the previous 9 months of grind… kind of silly.

Getting a consistent study routine down pact. Studying more efficiently than before. Hitting strides and feeling confident.

Need to be mindful of being more balanced. Neglecting IRL stuff to grind/study has been detrimental in some ways. I love being obsessed on one thing but the people around me seem to think differently. Sometimes days go by and I dont talk or think about anything but this silly game.

Some things are a work in progress, but overall has been a productive month.

Update 24- Opening up a bit in this one.

Swingiest month to date so far. Ended up +18k after being up 35k. Played 85% of my volume online. Sun ran 2knl online. Played a few long nights of live 5/T. Torched a bunch of online MTTs buyins.

If I'm being honest, swinging so hard is difficult for me. I still haven't gotten used to the pain of losing 20k in a weekend. Closing this month is bitter sweet. Bitter because the inevitable happened and the sun run ended with giving a few buyins back. Sweet because it's the best month I've had this year.

In reality I'm not processing variance as well as I need to. This month was mostly noise. Looking back at the hands this **** was all variance. I don't feel like I played extraordinarily well this month. Though, I my technical game was pretty solid on average my mental game was far from perfect.

I was more emotionally attached to winning this month than the past. Perhaps this has to do with the increase in stakes. Trying not to beat myself up for it because it is understandable. I'm pointing it out to monitor this and continue to reflect and iterate as appropriate while I acclimate to playing higher stakes. Other months variance won't be so kind to me and this emotional volatility will place a bigger toll on me.

Is your 2knl volume all iggy? Still playing StarsPA at all?
