Session 9
Today I sit down to play $1/$2 NLHE and on my first hand I am dealt 9/7 offsuit in the big blind.
6 limpers to the flop.
A 10 8 rainbow
I lead out $10 to see where everyone is at....
A call station reg calls the $10 and we go heads up to the turn where a 10 peels off.
I check to the call station reg and he bets $15 quickly. I call.
River is a 6. I shove all in for $175.
Now, there's only $62 in the pot and I know the $175 is a huge overbet, but I am pretty sure there's a good chance this guy peeled with 2nd pair here.
As soon as he goes into the tank, I know he has the 10. First, he starts shaking. Second, he starts foaming at the mouth. Finally, he starts convulsing and says "IF YOU HAD A FULL HOUSE YOU'D HAVE BET SMALLER. I THINK YOU'RE BLUFFING."
He calls and rolls Q10.
Ship it.
(THANKS FOR SHOWING ME THE WAY OF THE "PRISON RAPE" DGIHARRIS...<3 U.)
It's important to know your call station regs and it's ok to go for massive max value when you know they have trips.
Most are hardwired with a flashing neon sign in their head that says, "Have trips!!! Must call!!!"
So, I'm feeling good about that easy $200 and I go on to win $40 more before I see a $2/$5 NLHE must move table opening up.
As I am gazing at the line-up, I see a few fish.
It's also a Friday night so I know the action is going to be hot.
I decide that I am going to take an $800 shot at the $2/$5 game.
Two $400 buy ins and I am going to play the game like I would $1/$2.
Fearless.
If I think I can bluff someone off a pot with a semi-bluff, I'm going to do it. If I think I can pull a squeeze play on a ****ty regs light opens and I have An ACE BLOCKER hand, I am going to squeeze.
So, onto the $2/$5 session.
I am dealt 1010 in the SB. 6 limpers and then a terrible gambooler type guy on the button makes it $15 to go.
I know 1010 smashes his range so I 3bet to $100.00 to try to take down $50 of dead money.
To my dismay, a shortstacker goes all in for $190.00. So $90 more to me to play against his AA KK or AK.
I catch him on KK, flop a set, but he turns a set and I'm down $190.00 right off the bat.
No big deal, used to this type of **** by now, I reload back up to $400.
A hour goes by... I get AA in the BB, 5 limpers, same dude makes it $25 to go.
This time, I want callers, so I 3bet to $65. It gets back to the guy, he shoves all in for $200.
I call, he rolls JJ, spikes a J on the flop. So, now I am down $400.
Reload back up to $400 and I am on my last bullet.
Another hour or so goes by, I get KK UTG.
I raise it to $35. Aggro asian vilian calls $35. All else fold.
Flop Qd 8d 4c.
I lead $65. Aggro flats. (WHAT THE ****?)
Well, that tells me that aggro has a Q or is floating.
If he really had a flush draw, he just ships all in right there because he's an aggro AND he's asian.
Turn card is a brick. I check to my aggro Asian friend and as expected he ships in his last $200. I snap call.
He has a weak Q.
EZ game. Ship it.
Almost back to even.
I eventually work my way there, then this hand happens.
Hero is UTG with 77.
I limp in, 2 others do as well.
Old dirty smelly nit makes it $35. 30 year old solid/nit flats out of BB.
I elect to flat as well.
Old dirty smelly nit has $375 back, 30 year old solid/nit has $700.
Flop is 10c 7c 6s
The BB leads out for $75. I know he has 1010, 66, or 89 for a flopped straight.
I also know that dirty old nit is going to spazz ship all in. He just plays strength of his own hand and doesn't range anyone, so I elect to call.
Dirty nit fires all in for $340. BB tanks and tanks and tanks because BB is competent and he's actually thinking of folding his set of 6s right now. As soon as he tanks I KNOW he has 66. I'm good.
He elects to just flat. I ship my 7's all in.
The 30 year old guy srsly considers folding his 6's, tells me he knows I have 77 or 1010, but just in case I flopped the straight he has to call. He calls.
My hand holds and I win a huge pot.
A little chip porn for ya....
Ended up winning $1,240.00 for the day.
Bankroll currently at $5,700.00
