I'm trying to bulk up. Last year I was 60kg at my lowest. I pretty much looked like a skeleton. Now I'm up to 67kg and growing muscles. Aiming to get to 75kg by the end of this year.

But I'm not going solely for aesthetics; I also want to improve my health, both physical and mental, increase my energy levels, and train myself for a job that might require lifting heavy weights, such as a labouring job.

I'm trying to go 3-4 times per week and mainly just do full body workouts, but occasionally I'll split it up and just train legs one day and just train upper body the next day.

I do a bit of cardio too, even though it's bad for gains, because it's good for overall health and energy levels.

My net worth is in the red by like 5 digits lol. I've got a 30k student loan for 2 degrees I never finished.

But my net worth isn't too relevant tbh. It's too short-sighted and doesn't look at what I'm capable of achieving in a few years time.

I can fix my sleeping pattern anytime I want. I was waking up at 4:30am most days when I drove Uber.

The thing is though that I might get a night shift job, so maybe I won't need to fix it.

I know, I know... I will try harder over the next few days.

Had a bit of false hope today when I got a phone call waking me up whilst I was sleeping. Normally I just put my phone in silent mode and don't answer calls when I'm asleep, but I stopped doing this recently, so that I could answer calls from employers.

Anyway, turned out to just be another telemarketer. Made me so angry to have my sleep ruined for nothing.

Jesus Christ, I’m starting to like you. You sound like a completely different human from a few pages ago.

If you mean what you say, I’m really proud of you for looking for a job. It’s not easy to give up on something, even something that was bad for you. You can always come back to poker, and you can do it from a place where you could actually succeed (over-rolled, back not against the wall, not playing stressed out every session). Poker is pretty damn easy to win at when you’re able to keep a level head and exceedingly hard when you can’t.

Good luck.

Speaking too soon. I expect order to be restored very soon. OP the most important part of building muscle is the food you eat. Sounds like you are failing in that area.

2 degrees? I didn't realise it was 2. What were the subjects and how far through the courses did you get before dropping out/getting kicked off?

Prop betting 1/12 of your total cash on hand for funsies is very relevant. You spending like you're at Step 10 but you've struggled implementing Step 1 and there's absolutely no proof of any upward trend that suggests Step 2 is viable, much less Step 10.

I can appreciate the defiance, but potential has to be realized or it's irrelevant. I know personally I hate being told I can't do something if I feel like I can - but all you've done is prove the detractors right at every turn for over a year. Right now you're just metaphorically bluffing rivers and getting through but at some point you're going to have to have the goods or you're going to get felted. The women in your life aren't going to life stake you forever, you're a grown ass man.

But hey, the gym is cool. You didn't start out by lifting the heaviest weights, right? You're building up to that? And hopefully not ruining progress by KFCing after workouts?

Approach poker like that. Hell, approach life like that.

Give us the details. 3 sets 10 reps? 5x5? What lifts do you do the most? Which are your strongest? Favorites?

Ripping OP for his delusion and laziness is fair game but this is uncalled for.

Not true, there were way more jobs available in the 1990s

I mix things up a bit and rarely fit every exercise into every session, but a bunch that I do are:

Bicycle machine: 10 mins
Pullups: 1 x 15
Chinups: 1 x 15
Bench press: 5 x 6
Lat pulldown machine: 3 x 12
Shoulder press machine: 3 x 12
Leg press machine: 3 x 12
Lying hamstring curl machine: 3 x 12
Barbell bicep curls: 3 x 12
Plank: 2 mins

So as you can see, I'm mostly using machines and not doing a whole lot of free weights (no deadlifts or squats). I just find I'm more comfortable on the machines and I like not needing a spotter and not having to worry so much about bad form.

Pretty much this.

Our internet is appalling for a first world country. Always so slow.

Can't comment too much on racism cause I'm white and haven't experienced it personally, but I have seen my non-white friends get denied entry into nightclubs before, even when they were pretty much sober.

Employment is fine though. We're lucky because the GFC didn't screw us as badly as it screwed America, Greece or a lot of European nations. So our economy is doing okay and jobs aren't too hard to find here. Then again, I should probably keep my mouth shut about how easy jobs are to find, until I actually get one myself...

Yeah it's been finished. I had to start the entire thing from scratch because for some reason, when I tried to copy and paste an online template, it just didn't work at all. But I got it done at last.

I forget exactly how much I spent on Microsoft Word, but it wasn't more than $200, and I consider that money to be well spent, even if my resume is the only thing I get out of it.

I thought Microsoft Word was a monthly subscription and is the sole reason I looked for alternatives. I found WPS office and have never looked back since.
