It's not impossible that it wasn't all run-bad. But based on your history, it is also extremely unlikely.

Times sure do change. You can't even win buying in full anymore. Poker is dead.

OP I feel like you said you were gonna play tight on purpose so you could then talk about how you called a 3bet with QJo. I mean it's a mix but mostly fold there. Good job on the hygiene though!

He did not say he was playing tight. He said he was trying to play tight. He obviously was unsuccesfull at his attempt to play tight. But to his credit he did not play any table games last night

So it seems like every hand OP has posted so far has been misplayed and he has no clue how to play tight. His idea of tight is calling 3bets with QJo. Does he have any money left to his name or was that literally the last of it?

It doesn't matter that he's not that good. You already have QTs and QJs you can flat with, QJo is a useless and terrible combo to include.

congrats on showering and shaving, both in the same day! Also, congratulations of purchasing and cooking food! These are definitely not things that 90% of able-bodied adults do as a matter of routine, day in, day out!

you are a degenerate gambler, OP
get a hobby, be it crocheting, stamp collecting, or birdwatching
anything but making calculated decisions to generate "income" from your "bankroll" in a gambling game which you are -EV at.

the carnival game punting, as well. Why do you think that there aren't many stories about successful poker players also playing pit games regularly?

as a casino punter, you are a danger to the health and well-being of yourself and others

get ****ing real, and grow the **** up.

So when you said "unless you're playing some whale" you were lying?

There is space between Not that good and whale. Are you intentionally being dense?

Since you seem a little slow to pick up the meaning let me help you w/ an example:

Not that good could be: Only 3bets JJ+ from the BB and plays very straight forward post flop.

While whale is more along the lines of 3betting to wide (Q5s), calling post flop too much, making bad bluffs.

he 3bet 44 and bet-called a jam so maybe you're a bit slow on picking things up my friend. It's okay, not everyone gets it at first.

Did you know this information at the point you had to make the decision?

You are justifying bad play after seeing the results. Maybe that's your method.

he is following in his heros footsteps. It is critical that you change the narrative to dovetail perfectly with what you are doing making nearly any play justifiable.

Bankroll Update

So it's currently 11:30am here in Melbourne and I'm at the casino, waiting to start my 1/3 NL session soon (weird covid rules means the poker room is only open 12pm-4am now). I feel that now is a good time to update you guys on the bankroll situation.

Several months ago, I locked away 100,000 Thai Baht (~$4200 AUD) in my Transferwise account. I promised myself that I wouldn't touch this money at all until I went to Thailand. The idea was that I was going to pretend that this money didn't exist, so that if I went busto, I would at least have something to show for it. It meant that I could never fully go bust and I could always walk away from poker, knowing that I'd accomplished something.

After I busted my bankroll a few days ago, I took a short break and really contemplated what I wanted to do. I thought about going to the gym and living off welfare payments for a while. I thought about getting a normie job, like working at a supermarket stocking shelves or whatever.

After a few days of thought, I decided that I'm going to take a huge risk and do what I promised myself I was never going to do: take this money out and use it for poker.

But I promised myself that things would be different this time: I was strictly only going to play 1/3 NL and no -EV table games like roulette. I also promised myself that I would redeposit the money as soon as I started to show a profit.

So I hesitantly made my first withdrawal yesterday, and that's the money I used for poker.

Unfortunately, my first session didn't go so well. After losing $800 yesterday, the bankroll is sitting at around $3400 AUD now.

I want to make this worth it. I want to really give it 100% this time, because if I lose this money, then there are no backup funds after this.

one might suspect you have a gambling problem! also, you contemplating going to the gym whilst getting welfare was not a surprise.
