Hello...this is my first post in these forums, Ive been playing SH limit Hold'em for several years as an exclusive source of income. I have also been very successful playing NL live both 1-2 and 2-5 and play several sessions a week.

I began playing many years ago and after some success live tried nl100 on stars...I was probably a boarderline break-even player, however i had serious control issues and did not know how to deal with a loss for the day however small, i would continue to tilt and spew up much more than my original loss. this cycle went on for some time before i finally donked off the remainder of my account on a massive tilt of nl200. Henceforth Ive made a limited few halfhearted attempts to start playing nl100 again on this act and never commited the $ or time to account for more than a little shortlived amusement.

Fastforward 2 years, Ive switched sites and other than live I multitable SH limit on 8-12 tables exclusively. Im happy with my results but I dont get the same satisfaction from limit. My past failure on PS continues to plague me and the account itself has turned into somewhat of a nasty scar reminding me of my failure. PTR has my PS act at -5502$ over a paltry 7262 hands... this is a little misleading since just under 2k of it was SnG winnings that i coughed up and a massive portion was donked off in one super tilt day of nl200. All the same I consider myself out about 3k over the history of this account.

I now feel that Ive overcome the issues that held me back in the past at nl100 and want to challenge myself to redeem this tattered act. On Jan 1st I will be depositing a min of $3000 into this account and shifting all of my efforts into playing nl100, more specifically I will be 2 tabling SHnl100 and work my way up in table #s as comfortable...

My short term goal is to make back the $3000 im out on the act within the first month of play (by the end of Jan) with my longer term goal should i find success being to switch to playing NL100 on Stars as my main focus and grinding like a madman. The reason Im starting this thread now rather than Jan is I would prefer to fund the 3k exclusively through my live 1-2 winnings this month (dec) which are currently +$570, if I come up short Ill supplement from my Limit roll or elsewhere and if i come out ahead the extra $ will be added to the 3k at the time of deposit. In other words this thread will keep a tally of my live play progress and perhaps the occasional hand analysis if something particularly interesting happens and then on Jan 1st transition entirely into my goals/challenge of nl100 on pokerstars...I hope you enjoy following my progress and being a strong believer in honest reporting I assure you I will accuratly report my results even if disgustingly bad . In all honesty this thread will get much more exciting and content filled starting Jan as I track my online play on here, however I wanted to start it now to motivate myself to stick to my plans ect.

Don't wanna discourage you but games got a lot harder compared to some years ago and I don't think you'll beat 100NL even if you have your tilt under control. Thing is it doesn't matter how much tilt control you have now, or how disciplined you might be, you've never climbed your way up to 100NL, you deposited enough in order to have a proper bankroll. Proper bankroll management doesn't make you win though.

You should seriously contemplate depositing 200-300$ and grind your way up to 100NL starting @10NL. As it is, you'll get destroyed in no time and you'll waste another 3K.

good advice but as i mentioned i enjoy a good deal of success in SH limit as well as 1-2 and 2-5 live nl, it simply wouldnt be a conductive use of my time to play anything less than nl100, i also would certainly struggle to take it seriously at those levels. i acknowledge i could quite possibly crash and burn yet again, however i am confident in my abilities and have high expectations... all the same i hope to entertain through this thread regardless of my outcome, should i fail i will most likely revert back to climbing up the limit ladder.

and a little edit on the OP, the huge tilt day was nl400

lol dude 1-2 and 2-5 live doesn't even remotely compare to 100nl online. You could probably win at 25NL though, but the game in itself is a lot different live/online.

Really not trying to ruin your dreams or w/e but I don't think this will end well.

lol of course limit is a diff game, and of course live is very different, however i think i can incorporate my live nl skill with my online limit skill w/hud/multi/online tells and beat nl100, i assure you im not delusional in thinking i have the skill to pull this off lol...but time will tell, live game profits at +$740 now.

^something ive considered, ive thought about starting at nl50 with a higher volume ...4 tables to start, but i honestly find it more nitty at times? i think i have better profit potential 2 tableing at nl100 to start. employing a TAG style w/HUD and table selection i will be quite suprised (and yes humbled!) if im not able to beat nl100 pretty significantly...

...kind of a waste of time at the MGM Grand for me tonight, flopped top 2 on QJ4 flop, 2 hearts. V bets, i reraise significantly...V flats...V checks and i shoved on the blank turn b/c i was worried about hearts...V makes (IMO) a really bad call with KQ and hits the A on the river ...so was out a buy in ($300) right away and spent the next several hours trying to keep cool and grind it back...managed to string a number of small pots together and got back to even but left up only $17 dollars for like 4 hours of play...bleh, was a soft game too, still lots of 'cowboys' in town for there little rodeo lol

get rakeback on FT and play rush, you can get 1000hands/hr and earn a great hourly @100nl

fiddled around with a free trial of HEM tonight, ive always used PkrTrkr3...didnt delve to much into it but they seem very similar...any reason in particular i should consider switching?

played today at GVR. i really enjoy the room there away from the smoke but often run bad there, small win +90$ for the day but only played 3 hours so was satisfying enough, planning on putting in some power sessions at the aria and/or ballys this weekend to kick things up.

the live fund drive is at $847/3000 so being Dec 8th im a little behind pace. Dec is fairly dead around here so the games are kind of lacking in there normal juice factor

didnt play live tonight, gonna have to bank a nice chunk this weekend to keep up with my plans.

ugh! down -130 tonight from bad session at the MGM Grand, I really need a change of scenery but i keep dragging myself back there b.c its my 'comfort zone'. need to change it up bad though so gonna pick somewhere completely random tomorrow(sat) night, may even go downtown which i never do.

ugh...bad weekend, running so bad. losing every significant pot on the river to 4 card flushes...2 outer trips...the norm lol. not too worried just havent ran this bad this consistently in awhile; down to $417/3000 profits and at this rate i wont have the amount i intended to put towards my online nl shot. ive decided should this happen rather than supplementing the $, ill just deposit whatever amount ive made, and ill deal with it having failed (should it happen) my first goal already, and play whatever amount ive reached up from the appropriate limit for the balance/BR...be it 25nl or 50nl...some of you have recommended i do so anyways. it is unlikely ill stay at these lower limits long (pending success) and will very likely move up upon hitting what i consider an appropriate BR level. all the same i will continue to post my live profits balance leading up to Jan 1st at which time ill start significantly covering my online nl playing...

ahhh new gameplan. did 'ok' tonight picked up +$120. after considering alot of different factors ill still be depositing w/e my live profits are at on jan first, however, the deposit will be made into a new site i havent played on, i just think that the bonus, the rakeback and the clear hud stats make it the correct choice for right now, +its possible that the competition could be weaker. my poor stars account will have to wait to be redeemed in the future lol, ill be starting this as a new goal thread on jan 1st and will link this in the OP or something. my first goal of the new thread will still be a profit of 3k in the first month and then fail or succeed ill take it from there
