Well it is difficult to do som serious heart training with MTB. For such things I would like to have road bike, but roads and drivers attitude towards cyclists is not best here. So I don't know, I don't know... But I always consider my heart rate and sometimes I make special days when I try to keep it at certain zones. But nothing serious. I am amateur cyclist.

There is no mountains in Lithuania, but I live in Vilnius and it is city on the hills, so I guess over my average exercise I ride something like 250 vertical meters (Elevaition gain). If it is not some special trip I will just ride in the city. But our city is surrounded by forests, has forests and parks itself, so depending on the mood it can be paved or unpaved road. Mostly I do mix.

I am not folding here. So nomatter what will happen I Just can't Unless I have some reads. And that is the problem - I should have been betting this flop, because all hands that he can bluff are not going to fold anyway and with AQ or AK he can try to check it down. So overall I am just giving him chance to realize his equity and trying to complciate everything on later streets.

K, today decided to skip grind and do my accounting stuff. However Didn't do this but skipped my powernap so decided that I will not have enough of energy to perform well. And Thursday is best day to take break before weekend grind (games are juicier).

So at evening I enjoyed NighCrawler movie

Jake Gylenhaals performance was great! I recommend it.

Today I was watching some tutorials on some bike tricks and no matter what kind of new habit we try to develop rules are very same-

* pay attention concentrate on just one task
* do it slow, until you master it
* repeat and beat it to unconscious competence level.

But in poker I fail doing this. If I spot some leak my routine will look like that:

Gather knowledge how to fix this leak (quite often I fail to some level at this step!)
Go over hands corresponding that leak and review those, write mental or even actual note how to fix it.

And then I go to grind... I grind up to 1000 hands per hour (or even more) and obviously one one can concentrate so well at such pace on some very particular task. So despite yourself being able to concentrate on this at the start, you quickly waste your energy and slip back to autopiloting. And that means- doing same mistakes, repeating same leaks. And you know- now you are reestablishing your old habits and making your leaks even stronger!!!

I think it is impossible to fix leaks and learn new techniques with good study away from tables, but bad grinding habits. So I need to develop some grind routines designed to beat study topics to unconscious competence level!!!

It is 3 in the morning and I didn't take my powernap. So feel that I can;t concentrate- wouldn;t be surprised that this text is awful! So as compensation here is a video to illustrate that there is nothing impossible!

at 1st I felt the same way about the HR doing mtb, I started running and then picked mtb, and it was always hard to keep it at certain levels, especially because when youre going down hr is gonna go down, but with a bit of getting use to it, ull have no problem managing it a bit more. Specially cause it seems youre doing great volume so with a bit of that your performance will sky rocket. Im no expert but Ive been training on and off(right now off) with a cardiologist whos trained by an olympic* coach, so ive gotten some great pointers to improve endurance training anyways as long as youre going out youll improve and thats the main thing

It is 4bet pot and I hardly see how there could be two small bets without All In

If I would decide to xback turn or something I don't see how could I get called by worse hand there. I expect there to be all in if opponent will decide to put money in.

OK, so today I found that I still lack motivation to work on the game and decided to kick my own ass. It always motivates me to have some HH discussion so I quckly message couple of guys from my old Skype group. I just want to review some random someone else hands and those helped me with it.

Discussion was interesting and I found that half of the time I didn't know which line is better.

Lets say CO opens and you 3bet him from BTN with AQ
he calls. He is reg who does that more often than others.

So now 449dd comes and he checks to you.

So what line is better? Cbet or check and play, try to bluffcatch.

There is a lot of reasons for cbetting and there is a lot of reasons to check. But I find that QUite often I don't know exact answer and I will decide based on my mental state, grind rythm and based on quick opponent evaluation.

However if I would be trying to explain those things to student, then there would be a problem. Because arguments for both options looks solid and if you will say both options are good- it doesn't sound serious, also on downswing you will start questioning your own plays.

At evening my power nap wasn't very good, kids woke up me earlier than my 35 min timer rang, so when I decided to grind a session I felt that I do not have enough of energy to concentrate. So I decided that today is best to play 200 zoom + reg tables (avoid 500z).

And looking back how I played in this session it was good decision! My concentration was really bad, I was autopiloting entire session and clicking buttons more or less.

I didn't tilt, but my aggression levels was higher, I was taking more adventurous lines

Last hour I really didn't want to play, but I pushed harder, because it is quite likely that I will skip tomorrow.

Today session was really tough.
Before meeting as warm up decided to listen motivational videos and get some fresh air. After doing that I started to feel a little bit more concentrated, having more energy, however still felt pretty fked up so decided to grind NLZ200.

Start was good, however my ability to concentrate was very bad, I was autopiloting. Later lost two close to 200bb stacks and I guess that contributed to my tilt level, even If I didn't feel it. Suddenly I started showing and spewing, and result was bottom in the graph. I felt bad, couldn't concentrate, had minor headache and was totally playing -EV game, but decided to stay- couldn't end in red, especially when there was recreational at 5/10. So tilt went away, but all other negative feelings was there. And I was able to finish in green, even while playing C- Game! And end of the session, recovery was pretty stable!

Most fked up hand. I guess I didn't play in such bad way, with no reason for any street., like in this hand:

I got a lot of things to be excited about!
I love photography so I was very excited to hear, that finally Lightroom 6(Software that I use for sorting and editing) was released! Also there is a trip to Georgia, where group of photographic enthusiasts are going. There will be a lot of fun and also shooting practice.

But I decided to skip this trips, because I decided to have some other trips. Me and my 5 years old daughter (just two of us) are going for two day kayaking trip and after that we will have a trip to Slovakia. We will do hiking, going to caves, visiting places, maybe even sleeping in tents. And that will be for entire week! I can't await for those trips!

Work away from tables increased. I had nice mindset and strategy meetings. On Mindset meeting I realized that I am very week at setting and achieving goals (90% fail rate), also remember how nice is to do reflections at evening, when you go over list of what you did today and how you could do that better. I learned that from Shinzhelfish (free videos on pokerstrategy). And I think I need to rewatch some of those. Nice thing about those is that those are not very energy consuming and I love psychology, so it will be easy for me to do, while cooking or playing carcasone with kids.

Also I was optimizing my PT4 HUD, added some stats, moved some from popup to HUD. Inspired on that I talked for a hour about stats with other strategy group member. So after I will finish this post I will go and fine tune my HUD again, maybe make some custom popups.

Right now I am doing database maintenance, will be doing some statistical analysis, so I am not able to get any graphs or hands right now. But two last days I played 500 zoom. First day it was OK, but I was breakeven, but yesterday it was much worse. I most of flips, but even without it I played bad and I felt that I suck at the game. Still couldn't leave because I was chasing loses. So finally I quit at -3,2k €.

I need to work on 500. At the same time I was playing 3 NLZ 200 and 2x 500 but I felt very big difference how games are played. I need to figure out some answers before coming back there.

One very nice thing that I found was that when I started to tilt, I quit playing 500z and went playing to 200z. It is a good thing if you don't want to quit session and it helps to calm down, put hands.

So my goal for future should be exclusive 500z hand review, running and comparing statistical field analysis both zoom limits that I play.

And one of my favorite motivational videos, that I listed very often:

Very quick update.
yesterday overdosed Mate tea :| The effect was like bad feeling after coffee, however it lasted entire day. So skipped yesterday.

Today was very nice weather so spent almost entire day outside. I expected to be in very good playing condition after that (a lot of fresh air- food for brain) But somehow I was completely unable to concentrate even for single moment. So forced myself to play, but finally quit because couldn't think at all.

Even not going to recheck my hands (shame on me).

So week started pretty well grind wise, however ended very poor. I guess result is ~10k hands.
And graph from today:

(200z) + 2/4-5/10 reg

Problem about "scientific" researches that about almost everything there is a lot of studies what showed positive and negative effects. For examples:
yearb mate, coffee, chocolate, tea, wine etc etc.

But yeah- I have seen that some site tells about some cancer chance.

yes, because it is more likely to extract additional bet on the flop (from hands like AJ) than on later streets. However People who would have such hands and would float wider, then would be more likely to be bluffing more with even hands that would be folding to our cbet. So in this case wouldn't be surprised that vs fighting guys it could be more value from checkback.

Also our value by cbetting comes from ability to bluff some other cards, controling pot size, denying his equity and similar stuff, but that is quite difficult to calculate, because calling after check has multiple benefits too.

Today I took my kids to ballet. Because of that I was forced to wake up very early (10
:20 AM) and lacked energy entire day. So me and my kids found very same thing about balley- it is borring! From myself I will also add that it is very simiarl to ancient ruins- if you seen one ruin place- you've seen all of them! ( I've been in egyp ruined temples, Heliopolis in turkey, Pammukale and knossos palace in crete). So I decided that I am not going to visit ruins anymore- instea I will go to scenic places, churches, some architecture heritage places- but all places that exist and and could be seen! Very same about ballet- maybe it is ok to visit it once in 5 year, but I will rather go to teathers and other places. :|

After that me and my friend decided to play some billiards.Well this time it was snooker and I finally came to conclusion that snooker on eurosport is much more easy and enjoyable than in reality :| I don't like to play game for 30 minutes!

At evening played some 200zoom and regular tables. Start was quite tilty- wife tilted me a bit, all emotions in the day added up and finally even stars crashed for 3 times. All those nice things was fallowed by pretty bad luck (visible and invisible). I was not just losing flips but also having bunch of setups. So even despite the fact that entire session I was Up BI wise, I was chasing for currency loses.

At the very end I even did some very desperate and expensive bluffs. Luckily those worked well.

But then something changed (Maybe stars RNG started new day) and quickly in 200 hands I recovered and won some money for my kids food:

I felt soooo good that even took one screen shot for you guys!

Pretty wild recreational player. At the start he ran very well. When I saw this river it was fuuuuuuuuuuu :| :

Heh, this week is quite busy for me!
So I decided to award myself and fulfill my old dream!
I am going to upgrade my old Canon 7D camera with FullFrame. I decided, that Canon 6D is best for me. Also I will take 16-35 F4 IS L lens.

I also took my 5 years old girl to cycle with me! It was awesome. Obviously it was much slower and 10km on mixed terrain took 100 minutes. But I enjoyed that ride a lot. I will be doing that more often and I expect that my yearly 3000km will suffer because of this. Oh and because I was riding with kid I just afterwards realized, that I didn't swith gears at all!

Yesterday I decided to skip grind and declare income with tax paying reasoning.
I do that like fifth year in the row and every time it is headache, something different. I hate it but now I am calm till the next year.

On monday I decided to skip my Pub quiz and go to. That was bad decision :| I developed very strange tilt form - I was calling too much, but only at one table!!! Lol, but it was enough for me, because lineup was very bad and it was 3/6. I guess I lost 4-5 BIs just at that table ant it was -1,5k€ ;(

Today I had we with my strategy group analyzed one good player- It was interesting session and I decided to borrow some of his lines. Result was amazing and opponents was confused!
But session started badly - I did some maintenance stuff with DB and something was wrong, so my popups was not populated with data, I was changing various database setting while playing, sometimes playing even without HUD, so quickly bled away 6+ BI. I decided to reduce table amount, quit playing NLZ200. And... like a hero decided to recover loses at 500z LOL!

Very nice checkback by opponent:

Lets analyze April:

Grind time: Biggest grind this year is caused by:
* Starting to check results while grinding. I know that it is bad, but I feel benefits about it- It calms me down and also motivates me to put much more hours when I am losing. So it is good for my entire yearly goals, even when it is not very best to play while losing.
* Quite High amount of days played. I didn't have many trips, holidays or day off this month. There is a chance of burnout or carpal tunnel renewal.
* I quite abandoned my daily studies, so I have more energy for grind. I need to fix this somehow.
* Sleeping schedule shift. I shifted my hours to late night, go to sleep at 3-4 AM. I feel fine about that, going to keep it.
* Replacing 500Z with 200Z, also playing correct combination of zoom tables with regular tables. It allows me to play stakes that suits my mental and concentration condition, reduces variance.

* 200 Zoom and 5/10 has nice and stable graphs.
* 500 Zoom has pretty negative tendencies. Really need to work on such game.
* 400+600 has satisfying winrate, however I know that I spewed a lot there. I still think that I need to improve it a bit.

Overall it looks like that my winnings wasn't very stable over entire period. And while I can justify flat at the start, I can't justify flat at the end. I recall playing badly, tilty and without concentration last day. Is that sign of incoming burnout?

Also I see negative tendency in non showdown pots. At the end, it looks like I was losing much more there. I see that most of those loses are from NLZ500!!!

* I can celebrate now

I would hate being in those guys shoes. Regular who called wrote, that he knew that I have it, but I know that it is impossible to fold there. He felt bad tho:

Month started very lazy.
Entire weekend (including friday) Didn't play- just enjoyed my time, family. Even played some boules outside, because weather is very nice.

Also went to the city, made some photos and then spend some time on editing those.

This is the city that I live at:

Also got hooked on some traveling/challenging yourself movies!

Very nice movie about amateur cyclists that went for 4400km challenge at rocky mountains. (From canada to mexico).

Trailer: https://youtu.be/_7MqAiPOF8c

Another nice movie- about amateur runners that decided to participate at ultra marathon at 4 different deserts on the earth:

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9jc34V-98E

Today poker ended well. I started working on some of preflop concepts, consolidating some statistical numbers in one place, tuning a bit hud and develop some concepts and then quickly felt urge to play.

That wasn't best thing to do, because I just drank coffee fallowed by mate tea. So I felt tilty, I felt angry and a bit aggressive, however still played and played badly. Quickly hit pretty bad results and started to calm down, recover. However Family came back from works and kinder gardens so I was forced to abandon computer while session was in red.

At the evening I took very late powernap 21:40 for 20 minutes and at something like 23:00 sat for second session. It went much better than previous one, still wasn't best concentrated. Still managed to recover. There was still some luck involved, however I think I played B or B- game.

Interesting thing is that I didn't mark worth of posting hands.
Maybe this one, but strategy wise it is worthless. Just nice result:

Ty! But...
i didn't improve anywhere. i didn't do analysis that I should've done.
So winning there would mean that I just luckboxed those maybe not most obvious luck, but having positive variance, including setups and good run.

I think that without actual improvement it would be detrimental- there would be reason to think that I am better than actually I am so I would abandon work on my game.

So rather that it is better to even get ass kicked and get actually better!!!

Today slept badly so after my mental group meeting realized that I will not be able to concentrate, so Decided to skip other work away from tables (I am very good at skipping away from tables work lately!) and take a ride. I enjoyed it a lot. Rode to university in the other side of the city and then blindly shot to the forests. Forest tracks was unknown and after nice ride down I started to fear that if there will be dead end I will have very unpleasant trip back- uphill and on the sand. Luckily got to some known places. After coming back home my garmin 800 told that I rode 40 km.

My grind was something like B or B- again, lacked of concentration again. Made some badly plays, but overall it was OK. Didn't tilt.

Winning nice at nlz200, however losing it back at higher stakes ;(

Yesterday was unable to take my powernap, so decided to skip grind and decided to watch movie:

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZUsc1ewgUQ

Not sure if it is because of lack of sleep or seeing too many extreme downhill videos, however this movie didn't make me such impression like previosly two movies.

Video itself is astonishing and music tracks was nice. Red bull team knows how to build movies, however story line and way it was told could be much better.

Anyway- if you have time then take a look at this one, rather at countless hours that you spend on series or games
----------------
Today tried to put some work away from tables. After 15 minutes of staring at monitor and doing nothing somehow I ended watching documentary about Heroin

Took shower hoping that I will be able recover and be able to concentrate. Decided that from now when I don't work away from tables then I will replace those dedicated hours with grind.

Previously there was multiple posts where I wrote that I had bad concentration. However today it was so bad that I even couldn't imagine! I couldn't see and plan further than next street and was unable to evaluate more than 3 factors :| Somethign is really wrong with me.

Anyway ended quite well. Managed to win 400€- exactly that price that I decided to spend on waterproof and crush proof camera, dedicated for my bike rides, hikes and Kayaking.

Thin value bet:
PokerStars - €4 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 112.77 BB
BB: 122.24 BB
UTG: 103.5 BB
Hero (CO): 114.76 BB
BTN: 110.96 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 7 7

UTG raises to 3 BB, Hero calls 3 BB, fold, fold, fold

Flop: (7.5 BB, 2 players) 4 T 2
UTG bets 3.15 BB, Hero calls 3.15 BB

Turn: (13.8 BB, 2 players) 6
UTG bets 10.08 BB, Hero calls 10.08 BB

River: (33.96 BB, 2 players) 9
UTG checks, Hero bets 27 BB, UTG calls 27 BB

Spoiler:

(Pre 81%, Flop 88%, Turn 86%)
UTG mucks 3 3 (One Pair, Threes)
(Pre 19%, Flop 12%, Turn 14%)

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu*k

I am angry. I am very angry and frustrated.
Just realized that missed one nice group ride. i love such things.
It would be ~80-90km most of it forest tracks, nice locations.
You can take a look how it looks like:

Poker is not going well lately. Well it is not that bad, but I can't play well. I feel stressed, angry. I guess there is a lot of accumulated emotions. i don't know what is happening. I am not on downswing or something, but I am scared money, want to protect winnings, sometimes go mad and want to quit session. I don't want to start it too.

Something is wrong and I need to start working on that. I abandoned my mental game, so I will start working on it today.
I tried making short warm up today, when I was analyzing some hands. I was analyzing, narrating what is bad and injecting logic to fight vs that. It is really good thing, but you need to get it as habit.
Anyway my WU was very short and I quickly wnet to grind. I realized that I am not able to play very well, also I knew that I need to make slow session, pay a lot of attention and inject logic when tilting.

I feel that I played well, made some nice bluffcatches and thin valuebets. Still ran well and nice winnings is affected of that.

One of the signs that I pay more attention is better note taking.
I always try to do that.
So this time I am not going to share hands, but I will share how my in session notes looks like:

Code:
mental hand history

feel tilty
2x500
who is sizing sensitive
TM
fold to 5bet
[Hidden] doesnt flat
he was right that I suck
play like ****, fastpolay shove
[Hidden] blind play
[Hidden]
ran ok

FSP?
dont want to pklay want to quit protect
what is raise size that opp would be making mistake to call?

Quick update.

Don't have mood to write anything for a week.
Last week started pretty badly and lost a lot in two first days. Then got some virus and was out for entire week.
Today Tried to start playing again, but still play like sht, play tilty, don't have confidence.

Everything is pretty fcked up.
Tomorrow there will be mindset meeting also I will try to review some hands.
Don't know what to do ;(
Graph for entire month- up to 8k and now it is negative:

It is not just bad luck or something. I play really bad.
