May I highly recommend you play 8+ tables. Variance will most likely shut a **** up, and you'll have a bit more action going on
Oh... most important, WR will go up !

Thanks for the suggestion, at the moment I don't want to play more because I wanna focus on the learning plus for is already a bit much for me to be focusing on...I'll try to move more to 8ish when I get better with decisions!

McFold, love your writing style, classic. For a starting cash game player I could say the best thing to do would be to work on your thoughts about each hand - plan ahead, re-evaluate every street, and review review review! And write a book of your exploits when you're a millionaire. This, I'm sure, would be pure gold. Good luck!

Yeah the red line is upwards, I think I call too much on the river, I am such a river call fiend, something that I need to be fixed but seems so hard!

McFold on turning pro

Try considering to turn your hand into a bluff on the river sometimes if
you think you call too much

Also, try organising poker around large bouts of free time (whether infrequent or not), as opposed
to a few hours here and there

Mr Motivator is a full on Gaylord. His wife is just a cover story. he does NOT make wearing pink and yellow striped lycra one pieces sexy. He is a dick. Both Bristol teams are ****. If you are a fairly new player you should be playing 2nl, not 25nl (or 10nl).

Still can't work out if this is a level or not with all the Mr Motivator stuff but epic either way. Lol. Also, **** the guy above hating, even if he's right about bristolian football teams. Cardiff City ftw.

TY, Hoping for Cardiff City to be the winners on Sunday, I always root for the underdog and I don't like Kenny D's face, why is he so grumpy all the time?

Man, so sad, see this all the time...macho man not in touch with his real feelings, too scare to acknoweldge them. It is ok to admit Mr Motivator is sexy. He is big powerful man with great thighs and good skin, how could you not respect that. It doesn't make you a sissy man. Plus he supports Bristol Rovers...best team in WHOLE UNIVERSE

Ok realised I have not posted too mnay hand examples in this thread, will post a few that I earmarked from my last 1000 hands, mostly ones the I F'ed up the A. Maybe one day when I learn stuff I can post some cool hands where I play good and am better than people, but until then this is what you're getting, comments & tips welcomed with wide open arms

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

UTG: $10.27
CO: $10.60
BTN: $10.16
SB: $10.18
Hero (BB): $15.72

Pre-Flop: T A dealt to Hero (BB)
3 folds, SB raises to $0.30, Hero calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.60) 8 J 8 (2 Players)
SB bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40

Turn: ($1.40) A (2 Players)
SB bets $0.90, Hero calls $0.90

River: ($3.20) 5 (2 Players)
SB bets $2, Hero calls $2

Results: $7.20 Pot ($0.32 Rake)
SB showed K A and WON $6.88 (+$3.33 NET)
Hero mucked T A and LOST (-$3.50 NET)

Villain was 27/27/7.0 (VP/PFR/AF) but only over 45 hands so not very significant, assuming his range is pretty wide as he opens BTN. Think he range is still wide after cbet as this is pretty good flop to take a stab at imo. When he bets turn I think he has a lot of Jx & 8x hands and obviously 88/JJ, also maybe some pocket pairs 99-AA. I also think he can be barreling alot as A is good turn card to barrel and he seems aggressive. Not sure how many Ax hands he has in turn range as maybe I expect him to check back hansd with marginal showdown value but not sure as no real reads. On river I think he is not really bluffing here, I dont see people much barreling thrice at 10NL and I can't see what he thinks I'll fold. I think there's a good chance he is going for skinny value with a worse hand though so I call. Not sure if call is good

If my maths magic is right I think I need be good 32% of the time to call, I assume he is never bluffing then he needs to be value betting with a hands worse than AT 32% of time, not sure but think this might be reasonable to think this is the case...

Where My Balls At?

Ok, another hand, think I missed some river value on this one, also maybe I should have raised lead on flop bit I think call was prob correct.

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

BB: $25
UTG: $40.75
CO: $28.20
Hero (BTN): $21.71
SB: $15.47

Pre-Flop: K 8 dealt to Hero (BTN)
UTG folds, CO folds, Hero raises to $0.32, SB calls $0.25

Flop: ($0.80) 5 4 9 (2 Players)
SB bets $0.57, Hero calls $0.57

Turn: ($1.94) 8 (2 Players)
SB bets $1.85, Hero calls $1.85

River: ($5.64) 8 (2 Players)
SB bets $4.04, Hero calls $4.04

Results: $13.72 Pot ($0.62 Rake)
Hero showed K 8 and WON $13.10 (+$6.32 NET)
SB showed T T and LOST (-$6.73 NET)

Villain was 26/12/4.0 over 70ish, not great sample size but so far didn't seem fishy, more a wannabe TAG player I think but not with a great game or so it seemed. If anything seemed on the passive side

I read his flop lead as strong, didn't think he'd lead out with hamds he just wanted to get to SD or as a pure bluff so decided to just call as didn't think there was much fold equity. Think his range when he leads is like sets 9x hands and any over pairs he didn't want to 3bet (TT & JJ maybe). Maybe he also leads FDs here too.

His turn bet is quite big, making me think his range is now a bit more skewed towards sets, I pick up a pair so now I have a bit more equity vs JJ/TT/9x and I also have 2nd nut FD so I call (not sure if this is ok given his bet sizing...I think I need 33% equity to call?)

River is very good card for me, if he has 9x or TT/JJ it is the most concealed way I could ahve drawn out from him, but his betsizing on the river is pretty big and I get scared so I just call!

Does anyone think I should have shipped it here?

    CO: $10 (100 bb)

MP folds, CO raises to $0.40, BTN folds, Hero calls $0.35, BB folds

    Flop: ($0.90) Q A 7 (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.64, Hero raises to $2.20, CO calls $1.56

    Turn: ($5.30) 7 (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $7.40 and is all-in, Hero folds

    Spoiler:
    Results: $5.30 pot ($0.24 rake)
    Final Board: Q A 7 7
Hero mucked A Q and lost (-$2.60 net)
CO mucked and won $5.06 ($2.46 net)

This hand really confused me, was playing on quite a few tables with villain, he seemed pretty straight forward and my read was that he didn't barrel a lot after cbetting, but he did pull of a strange turn bluff where he open ATo UTG check called on 789 flop, then check raised 7 turn...so he is capable of doing weird stuff I guess.

Once I check raise flop I think he's just folding all his air, his range for call I guess would be like Ax, FDs and maybe some Qx or 7x hands he is getting stubborn with. I check turn as I think he always has some kind of hand here and I expect him to try to get to showdown with all his non flush hands but he just insta shoves!

I was confused because his bet sizing was so big and you would assume if he had a flush he would bet less than pot to get a call!

But anyway I think he always has something here and I don't see him turning made hands into a bluff so I folded!

I played a lot of hands with this hombre in this session, felt I had a good hold on his game, He seemed very passive post flop and a bit of a calling station if anything, seen the man call down very light in a few spots!

I know there's so few combos of hands that beat me here (AA/KK/QQ/JJ/KJ/QJ/AT/9T) but he's just so passive I don't see him ever doing this as a bluff and he can't really ever have a worse hand for value here so another FML fold I guess....sigh...
