Hey everyone new member here but long time lurker.

I've been a recreational NLH player for roughly 10 years but only recently trying to become a winning reg.

I have been grinding live 1/3 EUR in a local club and 5/5 in the Casino for the last month (5-8hr daily sessions) and have finally found my pace and (hopefully) winning strategy.

I'm a really Nitty player, playing pairs and suited aces only and AJo+ only in position. While this might seem boring it's the lowest variance and a pretty good win rate for now.

I'm currently sitting at ~30EUR/hr or ~123EUR/100 over a relatively small sample size (this should likely come down over time).

Hoping to share interesting hands and strategies here the more I garner experience.

How does that work? Do you see 400+ hands/hour in the 1/3 live game your playing in? The math ain't mathing...

They take 1EUR per flop so it's easy to see roughly how many hands per hour, they average if I recall between 25-26 flops per hour

The eur/hr and eur/100 are from Poker Bankroll Tracker where I plug in my sessions (25 hands per hour)

Pretty boring night last night as usual, session was 5hr:15 minutes long

Got QQ twice and AA once

One QQ and the AA were taken down preflop while the other QQ was taken down on the flop with a c-bet. I think sometimes I play monster pairs slightly more aggressive than usual and should try to bet smaller so I get at least one villain playing against me (I need to pay attention to sizes that are called rather than just trying to punish with heavier bets if I get lucky and someone calls me)

Out of my standard line of play was this hand on the CO with A3dd

Villain 1 is an older nit in the blinds (550EUR stack), Villain 2 is another older nit 2 seats to my right (300eur stack)

Villain 2 limps in for 3EUR and I limp in after him. Villain 1 raises to 8EUR and me and Villain 2 call.

Flop: 2c 4d 8c

Villain 2 bets out 10EUR into a 24EUR pot, Villain 1 calls, I call behind - this is non standard spot I usually play but decided to go for either a hidden non c 5 for a straight or another diamond as the pot is relatively small vs our stack ~400EUR (and Villain 1 is deep enough) and I also got bored folding for 2hrs straight.

Turn: 5h

Villain 1 bets out 25EUR, Villain 2 calls, I hit my straight and it seems like both either hit or are draw heavy so I raise to 72EUR, hoping for at least one caller.
Both villains call.

River: Js

Nice card for us, we only loose from 63 for the bigger straight but both villains check behind and it didn't seem like their range or they would of likely raised the turn or jammed the river.
I decided to bet out 125EUR into a 250EUR pot, Villain 1 thinks for a few seconds then flats ,Villain 2 folds.

I show the straight and Villain 1 is confused first, then angry and mucks.

My guess was something like a set of 44s or 88s due to the small preflop raise, Villain 2 was likely drawing to a flush.

I stay another orbit or two then decided to leave.
+350EUR for the night

Action packed session last night

Notable hand:

In the CO with AQo, I open to 20EUR and get a call from Villain 1 (nit) and Villain 2 a loose player to my right that limped in for 3EUR.

Flop: QsTh2s

Both Villain 1 and 2 check and I bet out 15EUR. The problem here is that Villain 1 is a passive calling station and would smooth call pre-flop with QQ/KK/AA. Both villains call.

Turn: 4c

Good card from us here as no draws hit so Villain 2 might still be chasing. Villain 1 is shortstacked which is good for us so I bet out 40EUR.

Both villains call

River: Qh

Great card for us as we get ahead of even KK. I bet out and both villains fold.

Villain 2 shows KK and mucks.

Pretty boring night at 5/5 as I was card dead for most of the session

I think due to this I wasn't playing my A-game

2 hands that stood out that were out of line for my usual play was

Hand 1:

QQ on the button I reraise from a 15EUR open to 45EUR and have 2 callers

Villain 1 is a new player in EP that just sat down for the minimum, Villain 2 is a relatively loose player that also just sat down a few hands ago for 200bb.

Flop 2cAh8s

Both Villains check back and I try to see where I am at with a 33% pot bet ~50eur, Villain 1 folds and Villain 2 reraises to 135EUR, I insta-fold to the aggression.

This is a non-standard line for me to bet out as I rarely try to take pots this way (saves me chips too), but I should slowly get accustomed to it with any villains initially being passive.

Hand 2:

AKcc in the CO so I raise to 15EUR, button is a aggressive preflop raiser but a semi-good villain that raises to 80EUR. I re-raise to 200EUR to try to take the pot down and after a while the villain calls.

I'm pretty sure here that he is holding a pocket pair and will likely not fold to my aggression if I bet out any flop.

Flop : 5dQh8s

Villain checks, I check back as nothing much going on here for me to bet out and will likely get called by a pair of 99+

Turn: Jc

Villain checks, I check back

River: 4h

Villain bets out 250EUR into the 400EUR pot, I ask him if he has trip Qs or trip Js and he says is that the only thing you lose too ?

Makes me certain that he has a pair of anywhere from TT-AA here so I just fold and take the lose.

I should try not to bloat pots like that with AK and balance it out with just calling.

Was running really badly from the start and getting coolered for close to 2 full buyins (lost with AA and QQ reloaded fully nearly twice) but finally made everything right because of this one hand:

Hero: A5dd

Limped in for 3EUR in EP and an aggressive player raises to 20EUR with 1 caller, so I call behind.

Flop:

2hAh4c

I check and both players check behind

Turn: 8h

I check, second player checks and the aggro player bets 40EUR which I call, the other player folds.

The logic here is simple if he had 2 hearts in his hand he would of 95% bet it out on the flop due to how aggressive he plays but instead bets out on the turn.

I know that my ace is likely not good against most villains here but that bet on the turn seems to be like he is holding a relatively high (Q or K) single heart.

River: 3d

I bet out 90EUR into the 140EUR pot (I have the small straight) and the aggro villain jams for 600+EUR.. I take a while thinking how the hand played out and as I was pretty sure he didn't have the flush so I call... He shows a single Kh which blocked the nut flush and mucks.

Hero wins huge pot and is running hotter than the sun (lol).

Played a small session last night

Found some leaks mainly around calling too light / playing some non-standard hands for me, but towards the end played close to my A-Game

Pretty good session last night.. mainly because I held my cool when I got coolered in a 1200EUR pot.

Aggressive player is preflop betting 60%+ of hands to 25EUR, so I decide to limp/raise AK.

Action is on him and he decides to raise to 25EUR in the BB after 3 people 3EUR limp in including me in the CO, I reraise to 75EUR and he calls.

Flop: 2K5 rainbow and he jams , I ask the dealer his chip count and after tanking decide to call the 500EUR bet. Most of the times against nittier players this would be a fold from me as I would be facing AA/KK and in the best case AK.

Villain shows KQ, I show AK so have him dominated

Turn: 5

River: .....Q

I shrug it off and continue playing my A-Game for a smallish win

Pretty basic stuff, I think I might be less aggressive with draws on Ax suited because most of the times I don't hit and it's costing me

Another decent session last night

Outside of a little addition spewing with pocket pairs against reraises to set mine I think it went pretty well. Next few sessions I will try to avoid spots like this to save some chips unless stacks are deep 150bb+
