As the title of this thread suggests, I am quitting my job on May 1, 2014 to play online poker full time. I'm no poker prodigy. I'm just another guy who genuinely hates his job and wants to try and do something extraordinary with his life.

I will be using this thread to chronicle my progress. This includes keeping track of bankroll (poker and otherwise), study material posting, hand discussion, and general updates on this journey.

The next month (April 1-30) I will be preparing to take the plunge by fine-tuning my game and maximizing profits. I currently live very cheaply with several roommates and no car (I bike everywhere). My living expenses total around $900 a month. If I can make anywhere near $500 a month my first few months I will be satisfied.

Poker Bankroll: $1000
Life Bankroll: $7200

My goal over the next month before I hand in my resignation is to focus on studying as opposed to playing. I still plan on putting in massive volume (for a 4-tabling part-time player) but in addition I would like to focus heavily on the technical aspects of my game.

I will be practicing a bankroll management strategy of 40 buy-ins (with my Poker bankroll) and as such will be starting at NL25 on Bovada. See you at the tables!

If I'm not mistaken max rake at 25NL is $2 and at 50NL it's $3. For rake considerations I'd consider jumping up to 50nl. I assume you are a proven winner and I don think the jump in skill level is big or even exists at all.

im guessing something lame like mcds or washing dishes..

but to the op i would suggest higher goals. you said you'd be happy making $500 which is just over half of your living expenses? its better to make a higher goal and fall a bit short.
