60hrs is alot, learn an instrument, also do a sport (not just run running just going through the motions dude and may or may not give you that so called runners high lol) but find a sport your passionate about and hopefully your ablebodied mobile enough to pursue it in the manner you want (im not) (though working 60hrs a week sounds bare so make it accessible easy to pick up, bike, get a trampoline, skateboard, swim if got leisure centre near, weightlift olympic or powerlifting (this can satisfy a goal if your goal orientated can work on technique getting stronger in core lifts progressing them) bmx, rockclimb, longboard. essentially you got your running im presume it relaxes you and you actually do get that so called runners high not worth it for to me but if thats case thats that box ticked, adrenaline wise your lacking though and guessing pokers the hit or gambling? so do a adrenaline heavy sport or one where option to release adrenaline there not a boring one (but equally you probably hit a wall there and stop getting the hit, so make it a technical sport too, skateboarding bmxing ticks lot of those boxes as its hard to master and progress) hopefully your able bodied enough to do one or the other, last resort videogames i used to like them, and similar with the sports depending which type gaming go down can tick the learn a skill and get adrenaline hit peace zen or whatever.

Takes up my time and of coarse I lose money. Don't have time to study and just play for fun, but it's not fun.
I convince myself it will be fun, load up play, and just feel awful after. Worse if I lose, more of a sense of relief if I win. It's suppose to be entertainment right? Well it's just not. I feel like my time could be better spent for sure. Sorry for bad writing and Grammer, very tired.
yh thats not healthy, says me guy with gambling addiction ha.

but i enjoy gambling win or lose its only aftermath might sting hurt ha.

quit poker quit gambling if dont enjoy it, mean your saying you get nothing from it entertainment or anything so just try stop, .

Do you really enjoy it, honestly? If I won I feel better because it's a sense of relief. Not really fun at all.
I think I enjoyed playing live for the social interaction. There is very little or none of that at all on the poker apps. And if there is people are generally kind of shitty.

I play guitar and drums, just not actively. Might get back to it. Also play softball during the season.
The problem with the apps is they are very addictive and readily available. Another fun part is its just business, but bad business for the most part. Watched people playing recklessly and they are never cut off. (Myself included.) Drunks need to be cut off at bars, I myself will tell clients not to do something, even if it cost me money. These club owners and players will take every last dime, and needle you too. Terrible culture and business. There are a couple of clubs that seem to care about their clients, but that could still be just milking the goat, not slaughtering them. Modeled after drug dealers imo. "If I don't sell it to them, someone else will. I might as well be making money."
I got a steep climb ahead.....

You keep saying you want to quit, but you keep playing.
You keep saying it's an addiction, a waste of time and money, unhealthy, an exploitative business, etc., but you keep playing.

Are you a compulsive gambler? Only you can answer these questions: https://gamblersanonymous.org/ga/content/20-questions

It's one thing to say you want to quit, but the urge to play is going to recur again and again. Notice the urge. Call it what it is. Then remind yourself that just because you feel the urge to play poker/gamble doesn't mean you have to do it. Eventually, like all urges, it will subside. (Try meditating.)

Notice what circumstances precipitate the urge to play poker/gamble, and either avoid those situations/activities (e.g., don't watch poker on TV or YouTube if that typically provokes the urge to play) or recognize the association and remind yourself that one thing doesn't automatically lead to the other (e.g., just because I'm watching Live at the Bike doesn't mean I have to play myself).

As someone else said, I'm not sure how reading and posting on this forum is going to help you to quit. Maybe write a one page statement (not here, just for yourself) of all the reasons you hate poker and want to quit, and read it every morning and every time the urge to play arises.

Maybe find a GA meeting near you and get a sponsor. If you're serious about quitting, why haven't you done that yet?

Good luck.

Found salvation in an app perhaps.
Gamban, won't let me long on and won't let me Uninstall it. Just get through a few weeks and I could be done.
Question, is the world a better place with poker in it?

at least you've been able to accept that poker is not for you. That's really good! Wish you the best in whatever else fills poker's spot in your free time

I really thinks that's its bad for the majority of people. At least in the online gambling world. Just from what I've seen and read here too.
Now a good old fashioned home game with friends is great.
Thanks for the well wishes!

Gamban keeping me straight. I have lots more money, time, and energy.
Going to donate money I would have lost playing this week.
Clubs are messaging me...usually works, but the Gamban app will not let me play. The fact that poker is predatory isn't enough unfortunately. The app is awesome.

When I feel the urge to play I have to remember that poker is a souless endeavor and creates no real value in life. It is the opposite of a charitable donation, and never really is that entertaining.
Take a walk, read a book, anything is better.

I've found that sex with supermodels on a daily basis, ideally with a hot tub, helps me avoid playing poker.
