Sup 2+2, long time break even/losing player who recently thinks he has "figured it out".

For the last 5 years I have been a daily cannabis user and played high and or burnt out. For the longest time I felt I needed it to excel and get into the " zone " of things. Once I stopped, I felt very weird playing and became somewhat of a spewtard. It has been over a month, and I finally feel like I am adjusting to the NEW or should I say the Old me?

I believe we all have it in ourselves to beat this game, given you put some hard work in, and have a solid mental game approach to online poker. Let's face it Variance is a BITCH.

From : Canada
Age : 26 Years Old

I love reading these blogs and thought what the heck I might as well start one and maybe make some friends along the way. I will be playing 6 MAX NL Holdem starting at 25NL to build a solid foundation.

Here is my plan of attack:

================================================== ====================
100K hands @ 25 NL
GOAL = 5+ bb/100 overall

150K hands @ 50 NL
GOAL = 4+bb/100 overall

2X Tabling so I get a good feel for what's going on and don't have my brain explode on me
================================================== ====================

In terms of Volume, not quite sure what I will be able to commit to. In about a month I return back to full-time work in Concrete Restoration. It's generally 6 days a week for 9-12 hour shifts. Factor in commuting 2 hours a day.. and I am essentially never home

Either way, I hope to put in 50k+ hands in April and profit, making a short update every other day or so. I am also attending college and will have exams in the new few weeks as well. Time management will be of the essence to succeed in everything.

If and when I complete my 150k hands at 50NL I shall re-evaluate on what the next step is. Ideally I want to keep climbing the Rush/Zoom ladder and be playing 100/200NL regularly by years end.

What a lovely start

I implement a Stop/Loss of 2 Buy ins and we hit that right out of the gate.
I played well for the most part, not upset at all. My AA ran into AK all in preflop for a 100bb pot (lost 25$). Then I got it in with KK vs. a shorty who had AA (lost 8$). My biggest winning hand $$ wise is lolable. I won't sit here bitching and complaining because this **** is gonna happen either way

    Big stack villain was 56/0 over 10 hands... in hindsight I guess I can just peal a flop and bet him off it then. If he does call, atleast I'm slowing down and definetly folding river. I'm really not one to gamble that deep with just jacks, but I obviously felt I was crushing his range or flipping and given the shortstack in hand, he might even hold some of the " outs " the fish needs to hit... Made a 5 bet JAM ( SB vs. BB ) when I was holding AJ in the SB.
    He had KK, but I spiked the lucky Ace
    Bad read, but good result - Gotta love Poker

    =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

    Here is my graph for Sunday March 30th, 2014.

    Happy with the results, unhappy because the weekend is over

    Since I was inactive for quite some time, it took me so long just to get Silver Status and just started accumulating rake back today. I will include that $ in all reports that follow from this day.

    I have quite the busy school week so I'm not sure how much time I will allocate to playing...

    I guess a break wouldn't hurt though!

    Hey man in that JJ hand you were WAY to deep to be getting jacks in preflop. I am amazed villain showed up with the hand he did and indicates he is a fish or a bad reg. Most of he time when he just calls the utg all in knowing you were initial 3b'er it's because he has AA or KK and is praying for you to do what you did. Don't look at what they had and reassure yourself it was a good play. The vast majority of the time when you get in JJ 250bb deep preflop you are CRUSHED.

    Good luck with your goals. I am same stakes as you

    Edit: sick win rate and nice start btw!

    I'm still alive!
    What can I say, my April has been hectic on the " Real life " front. Because of this, I have definitely not been playing my A game. I find I play when I shouldn't, and when I do play, I am trying to justify it by trying to " Make " Money. I'm getting involved in stupid spots, spewing money, raising when I KNOW i'm beat etc etc. Pretty much a mental game fish

    I really feel I could have been up way more if my mind was completely on the game. <--- Ain't that the truth for all of us? LOL

    I'm working really hard on getting over that barrier, and just remind myself the game is always there at a later date. I guess I'm addicted to this stupid video game......

    CHEERS everyone
