2NL = 0.01c/0.02c right? Just making sure I'm pretty new to the forum.

Had some bad times in the beginning by getting tiltish, very up and down results but now I'm steadily doing good everyday, when I lose a couple of BI's in it's no big deal I've mastered my emotions and tilt, and realize that it's a game of variance and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Question is, what do I do now? I'm pwning it right now, I don't want to move up to 5NL (0.02/0.05) yet until I have a sufficient enough bankroll. Started with 10.00 and I'm at 24.00 right now, should I get up to about 30-40 dollars before moving up to 5NL? What do I have to prepare myself for for 5NL? Does it still have the same amount of fish/playing styles or do people get a lot smarter. I've been c-betting like a demon at 2NL and they fold constantly, and the players that do play back at them I tighten up my c-bets against and usually get them back after they checkraise me.

Should I try micro SNGs to build up my bankroll further as well before moving up? I got some time to go before I move up because I want to have a sufficient enough of a bankroll to endure the upcoming losses. I expect to start off shaky at 5NL because I know I'll have to adapt.

$40 is the BR for 2nl, $100 is enough for 5nl and then 300 for 10nl, $30-40 for 5nl is just a death trap. Yes 2nl = 0.01/0.02

5nl isn't different to 2nl at all really, just bigger pots... but going from $10-$24 i guarentee is not enough hands to say your crushing 2nl, I went from $25 to $90 and still have room to improve.

moving to sng's is only advisable if you'll make more money from them than cash, however moving backwards and forwards isnt ideal, stick to one game.

Thanks I'll keep grinding away at 2NL then. Just thought that since 10.00 was a sufficient bankroll for 2NL, that 40.00 would be for twice the blind size stake increase. Regardless I'll keep plowing away at it, think I'll move up to two tables and try that as I usually only do good when I focus exclusively on one table.

I have to work on 3betting more, I typically only call in position I usually only 3bet with premium hands, have to learn when it's applicable to 3bet with weak hands, it usually doesn't feel profitable at this level though because the fish always call 3bets, hardly fold out.

I want to learn SNGs since a lot of good players supposedly built up their bankrolls fast from them.

indeed. i'm for sure going to start doing 2 tables at a time then. 1 table at 2nl is too ez for me right now that i'm getting bored. i feel like i have to advance or move up in something. we'll see how this goes.

Yerppp, the varience in micro cash is nothing like what it is in micro SNGs as you can go throught a 80 - 100 BI downswing which will obviously kill your BR so grind away at your 2nl. Just wish i had the patience to do so lol! glgl

i can see why. one bad beat can ruin your SNG. it just intrigues me bc players like durrrr said they got rich quickly off of sngs back in the day, but there was more fish back then too.

Durrrr built a roll playing sngs. He got rich playing HSNL.

Yeah, nowadays a lot more players are familiar with proper SNG strategy, playing tight, abusing the bubble, push/fold, ICM etc. They're a lot harder than they used to be. Still very beatable at the micro/small stakes though.
