I did do a post earlier with all the big losers from yesterday's session along with my analysis of each, but it looks like I didn't submit it I'm not gonna write it all up again but the long and short of it is that none of them were played particularly well. In fact, most of them were played pretty terribly so it's no wonder I dropped 5 BI's so quickly. It's strange as well because until I reviewed the hands I didn't even think I played that badly. I hadn't suffered any bad beats or anything and wasn't tilting. I guess it just goes to show the importance of warming up and making sure you're focused when playing.

I did a proper review of the hands earlier with a fellow 2+2er and did some sweats which I found really helpful. It helped to highlight some of the issues with my sizings in certain spots. I tend to just use default sizing most of the time and rarely bet more than pot. Last year when I was playing last, I was mixing in overbets with some decent success, but having not been learnt to the level on unconcious competence they must've just gradually slipped from my game. I did a lot of experimenting today with smaller/larger sizings than I would normally use and was really pleased with the results for the most part. I got a few tank-folds with some overbet bluffs which leads me to think that my regular sizings might have been called. Similarly I won a few stacks by sizing really small vs aggro opponents and inducing them to put money in the pot with hands that they would have otherwise folded. All pretty basic stuff to a lot of you reading but it felt like another string was added to my bow today.

I passed the BE mark today (pre rakeback) so I'll post some graphs. It's a shame I blew up on those couple of days because they single handedly destroyed my winrate. That's the consequence of tilting though so no use whining about it.

Here's the graph since starting the thread:

And here's the graph since giving up the Mary Jane:

Volume's been **** this past week but have been studying a fair bit and just wanted to give myself an easy time whilst I get over the worst of the withdrawals. I'm still struggling to get to sleep and am waking up loads during the night but hopefully this won't last too much longer. Aside from that I'm feeling a lot better in myself and looking forward to getting back on the grind full time!

BR stands at $740 and we've got a whopping 1.2 bb/100 winrate

Just a quick update from my bed tonight cos I'm dropping off atm and I wanna seize the opportunity to get some proper sleep! Barely played at all today but I did a fair bit of studying and some more sweats. Also signed back up to DC and downloaded all of Carroters more recent stuff so I've got plenty of videos to keep me occupied over the coming weeks. I didn't play much because my laptop is on it's last legs and it's tilting as ****. Was doing a sweat earlier and had to sit there and watch as I folded AKs twice, AQ and a few PP's in unopened pots cos of how bad it was lagging. It's not that bad when I'm not sharing my screen but still, enough's enough. I've sold all my collection on MTGO and got £450 for it, so I'm just gonna add the extra few hundred I need and buy myself a decent PC. Downloaded League of Legends in it's place as my new game to mess around with in my free time.

If I can order a PC over the weekend it should be delivered by Monday. Hopefully by then my sleep pattern will have returned to normal and then I can get back on the grind fully from Tuesday. I'll still be playing between now and then of course, I just wont be putting in tons of hours. I'll be making up for lost time though, don't worry about that!

Not gonna lie I'm proper excited lol. This laptop's been slowly dying on me for the past year so it'll be nice to have everything running smoothly for a change. Estimated Delivery is the 13th (Monday) so assuming that's the case, I'll be up and running on Tuesday. I'll be putting a new schedule together over the next few days to keep me on track from next week onwards. My work ethic's been dwindling a bit this past week. It's fine, I said I'd cut myself some slack for the couple of weeks after giving up, I just don't wanna slip back into old habits and prevention's easier than correction in my experience.

So ye, the plan for the next few days is just to take it easy, rest up and prepare myself for the long grind ahead. I've played close to 100k hands since starting the challenge, so it's probably a good time to do another database analysis to see how much progress I've made in fixing the leaks I identified at the start. Also gonna start working my way through some of the training videos I've downloaded, and I'm sure there'll be a lil' poker thrown in there too.

On a side note, been thinking about switching over to PT4 recently. I prefer the layout of HEM (probably cos it's all I've ever used) but it just seems so buggy in comparison. This could of course just be down to my shitty laptop so I'll see how it runs on my new baby. Either way, it can't hurt to download the PT4 trial and see how they compare. I can still keep HEM2 and just keep the DB's up to date on 'em both, so there's not really any negatives that I can see anyways.

Yea, that looks like a steal of a buy. I paid £1100ish for a 16gb RAM with 1tb HDD & a 256 SSD.

Seems like a good computer, wp.

As for PT4 vs HM2 I've had both, they are obv pretty similar but as you say I think HM2 has more bugs so I would at least get the trial for PT4 and check it out. They also support custom stats which is a good thing if you want to build a powerful HUD, you can find lots of stats in their warehouse or build your own. I also find their filter setup for analyzing database etc. better. Let me know if you have any questions on PT4

Ye I think they were being sold at just under £1600 outside of ebay but they're no longer available on the Tesco website. Should be a nice upgrade from the ol' Lenovo ideapad .

Ah that's interesting. I'm sure it'll all become a lot more relevant as I improve and move up. Thanks mate, appreciate it!

Decided I'm going to take a lil' shot at 25nl today. I've got just over 30 BI's so it's not exactly aggressive, but it is earlier than what I'd set out in the initial post. It's only going to be a 4 BI shot so I'll be moving back down to 16nl at ~$650. I feel like I've been playing well this past week and my moods have been consistent so I wanted to capitalise on this before I suddenly forget how to play poker again, plus it's Saturday It's no biggie, just wanted to post it here for accountability reasons. I'm going to be 2 tabling, at least for the first few hours, (if I make it that far) so that I can settle in, take plenty of notes and make the best decisions. Gl me

Thanks guys but no shot after all lol Went to fire up my session and now HM2 can't connect to the PostgreSQL server. Just spent the last 40 minutes working my way through the troubleshooting guide on the HM website. Even uninstalled it and re-installed it as a last resort but still no joy. I'm not gonna drive myself mad over it, I've been through enough as it is at the hands of this bastard laptop these past few weeks. Just gonna wait for my new PC to arrive on Monday and then start fresh with PT4 on Tuesday - HM2 can sod off n' all. Apologies for the false alarm .

I'm not actually usuing the habit app anymore as in true "George" fashion I gave up on most of 'em a week or so into the thread. The ones I stuck with (showering first thing, meditation, 3 meals/day) have become habit now anyway so the app wasn't really serving a purpose. None of this answers your question of course, I just felt like telling myself off a bit The app is called "Loop Habit Tracker" in the play store.

Haha, it certainly seems that way don't it! I keep expecting to wake up on a downer - that's usually what happens after a few days of feeling positive, but so far so good...

It came! She really is a beast. Didn't matter how much I threw at it today I couldn't get anything to go above 30% in Task Manager. I bought a new mechanical keyboard too. Click Click Click It's my first one and I'm loving it so far. All the lights are customisable too and it makes typing 10x easier in the dark.

Spent most of the day setting everything up, just a few things left to do before I call it a night. I emailed stars last night for my HH's and I was still getting emails through from them at like 3am. I must've gotten around 30 emails from them in total with all my hands since the beginning of time by the looks of it. PT4 has just finished importing them (just under 2 million lol) so now I can finally get started on my HUD. I'm guessing there's no way to import HUD's from HM2 to PT4? No worries anway it shouldn't take me too long using my previous HUD as a guideline. After that I just have to check that everything's working OK and then I'm good to go!

Once I'm all done I'll do another little update with the plan for this week

No, there isn't a way of transferring HM2 to PT4 HUD. GL setting it up, I'm curious do you use many stats/popups in your HUD?

Cheers mate. It's a "koolertron 87 key mechanical". Pre programmed league of legends light sequence it's gotta be good Ye I figured it was a bit of a long shot lol. I've just finished setting up my HUD, had quite a few issues though, some of them still unresolved. First off there's a lot of stats I couldn't find, mainly the IP/OOP cbet and BB/SB Fold vs "x" Steal stats. Also having issues with the colour coding. The first 2 groups seem to be working fine (red/orange) but then the 3rd group is just showing as the default white. Really bugging me I've tried changing the values and looking through the settings but no joy

Right, now onto business. I've had a pretty laid back week. I played no poker and didn't really do anything too productive aside from the odd bit of studying. So I'm gonna step it up a gear this week. I'm going to aim to play 60 hours of poker over the next 6 days. To make it a little more exciting, if I fail to meet this goal then I'll be transferring $30 on Stars to the next person who comments ITT. GL you and GL me
