I've decided to mix things up and start grinding some SNGs and MTTs (but mostly SNGs) for a while. My main SNG format is 6max hypers. Today I played a quick session of 18 x $10.50 6m hyper turbo SNGs and one $11 MTT for ~$90 total profit.
I spent most of July learning and playing these 6m hypers but switched back to cash games around the start of August. Here's my lifetime tracked SNG + MTT results on ignition (I played a few MTTs before this time period but never bothered to download the HHs since it wasn't my main game, and this is more or less all of my 6m hypers AFAIK):
I also grinded some MTTs and SNGs on ACR and coinpoker over this time period with a net earnings of about +$500 in addition to my +$2k on Ignition.
I switched back to cash games because I enjoy them more overall, but I obviously haven't been having fun the last few days, so I might as well try something else. I think playing new games is good for my mindset as well, because my tilt often builds up over time when I run into the same triggers in quick succession. MTTs and SNGs obviously have a ton of variance which can sometimes be tilting, but it's a different kind of variance. The short stack variance of losing flips is usually much easier for me to deal with than the deep stack variance in cash games.
