Sunday ended up being business as usual. Had my biggest losing day since i got back online (only 1.7k tho, and in my books any sunday where u dont lose more then 2k is not a bad sunday). I had loads of deep runs again (including 100th in the big 109 after utreg sucked out on me in a weird spot) and am very happy yet with how i have been playing overall, however yesterday i was not on my A game mostly due to lack of sleep.

I slept plenty last night tho and i am rip rip roarin to go!

Ya, i had to call his shove, but considering who it was and what the situation was i knew that they had a really wide 3bet range, and i knew that bb knew that so it was a pretty std 5bet spot for me imo.

***The 1 Week Update***

There have been some obvious changes to my short term goals. After doing a lot of figuring over the first few days, and discussing with my backer and soem friends, i had realized fairly quickly that mashing out 180 volume was not going to lead to my highest hourly. It would have been nice to get to nova this year, but i think having that as a goal for myself will end up hurting myself long run out here. If i had more then 6 months total to stay in canada, i prolly would just get nova this year as well, but as my time is limited it seems very -ev.

Getting top 20 monthly might be possible for november, but its gonna require a bit more run goot in the large field mtts, taking 2nd-6th all the time just isn't gonna get me there this month. December i think i'll be able to pull it off, even with me leaving on the 21st for xmas back in the states.

My bf and i have been sticking to our eating plan (dont eat out ever, make the majority of our meals fresh, and eat a lot healthier then what we did in the past), we havn't been working out much yet tho. He has been sick and i have been so focused on grinding, i also hate working out by myself, so once he feels better we'll def get that in more.

I wont really get in coaching hours until after my xmas break (jan or so).


Most of my long term goals have stayed the same, however instead of 20k games i am going to aim for 12k games.

I dont really know what else to talk about in these, If any1 has any suggestions as to things they'd like to know about or w/e i can do to keep this more interesting just let me know!

You briefly tried Party right? Did you try any other euro's? How did you find the standard in comparison?

I only am grinding stars now, although i will play the PP 200k every sunday.

Didn't try any other euros, for what i grind i dont see much of a point to it tbh. If i was playing mostly a highstakes schedule tho, then i def would mix in ongame and ipoker and w/e.

The skill level is fairly comparable these days imo, at least between party n ps.

So you will be home for the holidays? Thinking about setting up some kind of tournaments over the break since we didn't have anything at Alex's this year. hit me up on facebook sometime and we can plan something.

I'm going to wisconsin on the 21st of Dec, i'll be staying in the usa for 1-2 weeks. I could possibly make it out to MN, let me know what u guys decide to do.

My session yesterday was very aggrevating. It was going fine and was business as usual, i was building up some good stacks, was itm in a 35 180, and was 1/9 in a 15$ 180 when my ps connection cut out. For 20 ****in minutes! >.< By the time i got back onto my account i was 6/6 in the 180 with like 1bb, i had been about to cash a 54ko turbo with a large stack and instead pretty much bubbled it, i ended up mincashing the 35.

First i thought "no big deal, cost me prolly $500, but i'll keep grinding, i'll just lower my tables and see if it happens again".

It proceeded to happen at least 5 more times. After the 2nd time it happened, i un-regged everything i was regged for the rest of the day and played down my last few tournaments.

I'm gonna see how today goes 1 step at a time and start with fewer tables, make sure that i have a good connection this time before i start 20 tabling.

Good news: internet stayed running well.

Bad news: havn't been feeling well, so ended up doing a really short session as i couldn't really focus on my game.

Ended up putting in a fairly short session yesterday due to not feeling well. Couldn't focus at all and felt pretty bad all day. Today i felt better and ended up putting in a 9 hour session, ended today's session early as well due to having a coaching session soon with my backer.

Today ended up being fairly interesting. Had my first ever cash in the 8r 2x turbo (prolly have played that tourney 50-100 times), ended up taking 9th in it (since my 1 cash is a ft...cant complain too much >.>). Also took 5th in the 54ko (7th in it last week iirc) and i took 14th in the 75 turbo (ft'd that last week as well).

Ran pretty terribly in 180's (bubbled like 4 35's) and thus ended up breaking even for the day.

Sunday ended up being pretty brutal, i took 25th in the sunday kickoff (1500 runners) and took 145th in the sunday million (busted on JJ<88 for 600k pot after just getting coolered for a 1mil chip pot). The last week really has been a massive **** show, loads of deeeeep runs but i havn't been closing in anything when i do ft, and most of them i've just been taking 10th-36th (took 12th or so in the FT only paid >.<).

Late 3 week update
I've been grinding pretty much every day, have been going deep daily in lots of things, but variance has been kicking my balls in. I've been avging around 90 games/session and playing around 10-12 hours/session. I am very happy with where my game is at and am happy with the volume i have been putting in.

I am also doing a prop bet vs rowniwn from dec 13th to dec 19th for volume/profits (100$ on each). Havn't really felt much of a desire to update this, dont really see much reason to i guess as all i really discuss here are my profits/losses. I guess maybe if i actually used this to blog or w/e i'd be slightly more inclined to post here more, but seems like there isn't much interest in that yet, and i am more focused on grinding, and what little free time i have i like using that with my boyfriend.

***Month Update***

It certainly has been an interesting 7 weeks in Toronto and month back on ps.

Toronto is an absolutely wonderful city and my BF and I have met so many great people here. We are definitely considering staying here permanently in the future.

Having a 20k welcome back week to stars was very nice, the 3 week downswing since has been really brutal and soul crushing. I am very happy with my play over it, and am fairly content with how my mindset has been overall, however i still let my results get to me a bit more then is warranted (although being stressed out about time constraints and 1300 game swong+47k make up = understandable), but i think having a break will bring around my mind set to where i need it focused on and i won't stray as much (my play, not my results).

My volume over the last month hasn't quite been what i had been planning, as far as hours played goes. I still managed to average prolly 60-70 hrs/week but i took like 6-7 days off over the last month when i probably should have taken like 3-4 off (internet issues, get togethers with people, being a bit sick/not feeling well, etc). Overall though i am pretty happy with my first month back as far as games played/hours/etc. Jan should be a huge month for me though, and would really like to finish top 10 for Jan in monthly tlb and in TCOOP (Turbo Championship of Online Poker, series i suggested to ps and got a following for on 2+2) leaderboard.


We will be leaving canada later "today". I'll be back grinding by Dec 29th or so, my bf will be staying in the states till sometime in mid jan. TCOOP starts around when chris plans to come back from the states, so i probably will end up taking only 2-4 days off in jan. Should give me plenty of hours to upswing nicely, make a tlb name for myself, and clear some of that make up ^.^ .

Got back to canada on the 28th, i've been sick for the last 4 days though, so im still trying to recover. I'm probably going to play a bit today, but wont be a full session as im not fully recovered yet.

Played my first session of 2012 on sunday, lost $2700. I kept my tables between 12-16 and really felt some improvements in my overall game and mindset (compared to 20-24 tabling). I also think that for non sundays i'm gonna now keep my tables between 10-14. I think lowering my number of tables to an amount where i can play my A game for the most amount of time and stay focused will decrease my variance immensely and increase my roi by enough to warrant the lessened volume and help keep my mindset the best.

I still will be trying for 2k+ games/month so in order to balance my lessened tables i will be aiming for more hours played and more hours at 10tables or more.

I am definitely disappointed in my volume over the last few weeks, even though i have decent reasons for so little. I will definitely be smashing out volume for TCOOP though, especially as by then i will be fully recovered and my BF will be back to canada ^.^

Here is my overall graph from the start of this challenge.

14 cashes this sunday. Highlights include a 7th in a tiny 33$ (AK<AJ for many chips with 7 left, first was 3k), and 23rd in 54 Tko and 24th in the big 3r.

I havn't had a single winning day since my xmas break, i also havn't seen my boyfriend in around 3 weeks. The good news is though that he comes back late on the 18th!! So i'll be missing the first day of TCOOP as we are spending our first full day back together.




Since starting my canada grind i've had 4 winning sessions, which is pretty ridiculous when you consider what schedule i am running. I am playing the softest/best-value games 1$-200$, the highest variance game i play is the warm up (edit, before my xmas break i was playing the 82 hypers, 109 2x chance, 55 2x chance, and some other high variance games, however i have cut them out since my 5k score in the 55 6max turbo). Everything i play is low variance, i only play 2 turbos above 55$, i even skip like the 44t due to how reggy they are. I've also cut back on tables to raise my roi in these games even higher. So i'm still getting loads of deeeep runs, i'm just also constantly getting ****ed when it matters.

For those who are curious, i did some number running and asked around for opinions on the schedule i am currently grinding. It is: 109(17.5k), Big 109, 109t (5k), party 109, 75 5k, 75t 15k,22c, 55$, 55$ 10k, big 55, 556max turbo, 3 party 55's, 54ko 8k, 54 Tko 20k, 44 6max, 33 500 cap, 7 27's mix of ko's and big antes turbo and non, around 6 22's mix of big antes and big 22's, 3 party 22's, around 20 tourneys 16$ and less. 10 180's/day. Sundays = mill, wu, party 200k, kickoff (so +100$/day on avg).

The schedule i am playing equates to around $1800 - $2100 in buy-ins a day , with 99 days to go, i'll probably end up taking around 6-9 full days off. 90 x 1800= 162k. With my game selection I am estimating that i should run an roi of 40-80% (my backer thinks he can run 70%+ in what i'm playing others i have asked agree that 40%+ is def easily doable and expect my roi to be above that), 40% roi = +65k, 60% roi = +97k, 80% roi = + 130k. Make up is currently at 61.4k.


So, even with where i am at now, i should still likely clear make up by the time i leave, and could make a decent chunk of money for myself (hopefully!). A lot of run good is surely neeeded (or just less run bad).
