My name is Mike but most around my parts know me as Poker Triad. I used to post in the Las Vegas Lifestyle section many years back when I lived in Sin City, but for the last six years I have resided in Cambodia and have been the most prolific poster on that thread in the Travel section. I wanted to create my own thread as I wanted to discuss issues and matters of my life that do not just involve me living in Southeast Asia. I have led a fairly compelling life according to most and still have an interesting tale to tell of my current life. Most poker players in this region already know me, if not personally then at least through my social media channels. And while I haven't left Cambodia too much, I have traversed this land literally from one end to the other playing poker games in some of the most obscure places that most have never heard of. These days I reside in Phnom Penh where I lead a very paradoxical life in which I work hard and support my family of my wife and two children (about to be three) by day, and go out with my friends and party hard by night in the epic nightlife of Phnom Penh. I don't play as much as I used to as I now work as on online poke agent, but still put in a decent amount of volume playing PLO6 online.

Cambodia seems to be least affected by the Corona pandemic and life for us here has remained normal. While other businesses have suffered with the lack of tourists, poker players have thrived as online games have been as soft as ever during a time in which most have to stay home and poker rooms remain closed. This makes us very attractive clientele when we go out at night, for both businesses and the opposite sex. Our lives here are straight out of movie and is the culmination of everything I wanted it to be before I arrived. I live my life fairly openly and even have Twitch and YouTube channels in which I stream while I play, do a weekly vlog and produce video content of Phnom Penh's nightlife. This will not be a traditional blog with discussions of strategy, hand reviews and win/loss graphs but rather just a chronicle of our degeneracy with a little poker sprinkled on top. I spent the rare night in last night as I had some work to do and also I wanted to play a bit online. I keep two residences, one with my wife and the other a condo that I got to work and play online. It's a bit of an expense but it is impossible to get anything done at home as my wife is currently 3 months pregnant and she is always sleeping. This makes it hard to do the Twitch streams and even when she's awake then the kids will be up as well. I spend a lot of time at the condo so when I'm home I try not to do anything else and just focus on the family. I have a pretty nice set up in the condo and it was not that expensive with prices being depressed due to covid. It's a modern 1 bedroom on the 14th floor with a pool and a gym. Basic rent is $400 per month but I have a few other fees to pay so it's a bit more. I moved all my computer gear in there, upgraded a few things and pay $100 per month for high speed internet.






So I came over last night and got some work done and normally I would go out for drinks with friends afterwards. The only place open right now is Secrets Club which some of you may know from its previous incarnation in Pattaya Thailand. Since they are technically a restaurant with a full kitchen they get to stay open during a temporary closure of bars they ordered last week. That suits me just fine as we know the owner and get VIP treatment there and I have a couple of regular girls that I drink with and other things.... You can see both of them in the first minute of the YouTube video below. But I was feeling somewhat tired last night so I decided to call one of my other regulars over to the condo instead. Her bar is closed right now so I figured she could use the work. She'll cost me only $60 whereas the girls from Secrets will only come over for $100. Prices were much lower when I got here six years ago but have shot up recently with the migration of the Chinese. I've probably taken this girl home more than any other although she's not the youngest, skinniest or prettiest. But she's a nice girl and does just about anything I request so I can't find much fault. She knows I make these sorts of posts and doesn't mind but just asks that I don't post her face.



I had a goomah as recently as a couple of weeks ago and she was living in the condo, but I had to f*ck her off as she was way too busy and did not fit in with my schedule. I told her I didn't care who else she f*cked as long as it didn't encroach upon my time. Well it started to and she was costing me way too much money anyway. She probably doesn't want me posting her face either but she never seemed to mind me taking photos of other things back when I had a suite at Secrets.



The girl left around 4:00 AM but she probably would have stayed longer had I not kicked her out. I told her I wanted to play and needed to be alone for that, which she didn't quite understand. But then again they never do as even my wife has a hard time remembering that I need absolute silence to focus when I play. This is basically why I got the second place but I admit that having a place to bring girls is a great reason as well. I played a bit and streamed it on Twitch but the games died down a bit due to the late hour so I tried to go to sleep. Having been unsuccessful at that I jumped back online around 7:00 AM to find a few good games so I played a bit more but then the games died again. I'm not quite sure what I did after that but I did get to sleep at some point. I got up around 5:00 PM and headed home to spend some quality time with the kids before heading out to dinner with a friend. I'm back at the condo currently to get some work done. I've played one session already but am only up about $50. I'll probably catch a nap and then head out later for drinks and then try to grind in the early morning.

A friend recently told me that he was jealous of my life as I seemed to have the best of both worlds. That would be an appropriate description as I have a family but am able to still enjoy all that the night has to offer here. My wife isn't stupid and has a fairly good idea of what goes on but accepts it as a reality of our relationship as long as I continue to support our family and hers. I never hold that over her head and she knows that if she ever wanted to leave I would not stop the support. It may be difficult to believe but we do love each other and it presents less of a problem than people think. For a while I found myself stuck in the middle, struggling between being faithful and doing what I want. Philosophically speaking the middle is the worst place to be and the best thing to do for all parties is to just make a decision. I concluded a while back that I traveled all this way to basically to do what I want. As long as that doesn't hurt anyone else I will continue on with that philosophy. As I stated my wife is fine but I worry more about my daughters since they'll probably start to figure things out as they get older and I fear what their reaction will be.

I don't mind the question, hope you don't mind the answer. To say that we have an open marriage would be inaccurate as she does not sleep around on me. She knows that were she to do that our relationship would be over, although I reiterate that I would not stop supporting her. She basically let's me do what I want because I provide for her a life she could not even imagine existed a few years ago. The only thing she's ever asked is that I never make her lose face with her family and friends. Most of my activities up to this point have been very discreet and never added up to having a girlfriend. In fact my wife once asked if I take random girls or take the same one over and over again. When I answered the former she was very relieved. That was the problem with the goomah as we were basically a couple; we would have dinners, go out for drinks together and basically were seen in public all the time. My wife discovered this rather quickly and it created a situation where I can still get "caught." It didn't matter as I fu*ked her off anyway. I mentioned that I had to fu*k off my goomah a couple of weeks ago and of course she has texted and called me non-stop since. I had 31 unanswered messages in my WhatsApp inbox and I hadn't looked at a single one until #32. She wrote "RIP" so I was thinking that she was either threatening me or claiming to have given me some sort of disease. So I finally took a peak and I couldn't have been more wrong. Basically she went on and on about ****ing her for $100 so that she could save up to get a new iPhone 12. Man this girl really has a one track mind, but then again most of them do. I was just talking to my friend this morning about how she could fu*k this up. I literally didn't care about who she fu*ked or anything else really as long as she was honest about it. I've been doing this too long and already know the entire game plan so I basically told her she can go ahead and do everything she was going to lie about anyway, but just be honest about it. But I think the concept was too radical for her and she couldn't help but keep lying anyway.

Now I'm off to Secrets Bar with the wife as she wants a night out. Secrets is unique in this way that a lot of the poker players take their wives/girlfriends there. So it's a place where I both take my wife and take girls from; fu*king hilarious. I usually send a text message to the owner before arriving with her and ask him to tell all the managers to tell the girls to back up off me for the night.

So I took the wife to Secrets Bar last night and while that is usually a safe spot, I wasn't counting on the fact that my ex-mistress would be there. So we were drinking with a poker buddy of mine in the same booth when she comes up to our fu*king table and has the balls to say cheers and raises her drink at us. I give my wife credit because she knows exactly who this is and easily could have lost her sh*t. But she just smiled and nodded and we moved on. My wife excused herself to go to the restroom a few minutes later and the b*tch comes up to our booth again as she was obviously drunk. I screamed at her to get the fu*k away from us as she was obviously trying to cause trouble. Not that she can hear what I yelled as she was born deaf, but I think she got the point. My friend Big Bananas usually loves this sort of drama but he passed on my invitation to join.

I didn't go out tonight as the wife wanted to have sex and I happily obliged. I will still go out sometimes after coitus but once you've finished already it sort of takes the fun out of it. I headed to the condo to play poker at 2:00 AM afterwards and had a good session. I couldn't play yesterday and I didn't play much last week so I was happy to start this week with a healthy session. I picked up a $1,600 pot in $1-$2 PLO6 when I flopped top set of Kings vs middle set Jacks and another player with an inside wrap and a flush draw. I faded them both and the river paired the board to ship the pot my way.



I picked up about $1,100 in profit and then my tables broke after I won a few more pots.



Last week I put in very little volume and won about $800 and change, $1K with rakeback.



This is on the UPoker app and the screenshots are basically what the app spits out. I don't play pro anymore so I don't keep a graph but I'll have to start one up again perhaps. Anyway my tables broke and I met up with some friends around 5:30 AM to get some breakfast and I just got home at 9:00 AM. Got a lunch meeting with a friend in a few hours then I it's the dreaded rakeback day. Tuesday is the day I have to calculate and pay out rakeback for all the players in my agency and it's the busiest day of the week for me. Hopefully I'll finish in time to get some more volume in today and perhaps even go out in the late evening.

I over extended myself a bit today trying to get all of the rakeback calculated and paid out for the players in my agency today. Nonetheless I finished it all and crashed for a few hours at the condo, hoping to get out later in the night. I eventually made it out to Secrets Bar but made the mistake of waiting until closing at 5:00 AM to tell my girl I was going to bar fine her. She didn't want to go that late and said she preferred to just go home and my backup was on her period so I came home empty handed. Although such would not have been the case had some meth heads and ladyboys had their way. My friend and I went to the local mini mart after exiting Secrets and my friend decided to sit down at a table outside to smoke a cigarette. Once I joined him we were basically sitting ducks for the C.H.U.D. that basically hang out at this hour. Although we have been one of the few places that have remained relatively open during the pandemic, the lack of tourists has had an economic impact. This brings the worst out into the streets at night in the form of meth heads and ladyboys and they pretty much run the streets most nights as the bars have been closed the last couple of weeks. This is why I like going to Secrets as they have security outside and so I always just have my car drop me off right at the entrance and pick me up the same. At this point it wasn't even about sex because it was clear to them that neither of us were going to take any of them. But they kept following us down the street under the guise of sexual interest just so they could get near our pockets and take our wallets. By the end of I had to physically restrain one of them from reaching towards our pockets.

Shemales aside it was a fairly decent night as after finishing up the rakeback I went out to dinner with a friend at one of the fine dining steak joints in town. A lot of the restaurants have been running discounts the last two weeks in an attempt to attract visitors during the semi lockdown. At this one place steaks have been discounted every night so we headed down tonight as it was the last night of the special.



I played a bit and won about another $200 in a short and uneventful session. I 3-bet preflop out of position then called a 4-bet with KQJT98 double suited and flopped a straight; easy game!



It's about 7:00 AM as I write this and I'm still tempted to call one of my regulars but I'll probably just wait until tomorrow.

I've been staying in for the most part the last two nights as I have been overextending myself a bit lately and haven't been feeling well. So I took a nap at the condo and woke up around 4:00 AM to a text that one of my regular girls sent me. She wanted me to know that one of my friends had bought her drinks at the bar and that they did "something." I've told her many times I don't really care and she's free to do whatever she wants or needs to do to make money. I wasn't going to go out or call anyone in last night but since I was now awake and she just texted me, I figured what the hell. She came over for a couple of hours so an early morning grind wasn't going to happen.







I was starving by the time we were done so a friend and I headed down to the Rosewood Hotel, one of the few 5 star establishments in town. They have a series of great restaurants, all with fantastic views and their free flow breakfast is great value at only $26.











I finished that up and then came back to the condo to crash. It's about 4:30 PM and I just woke up so now I'll head to the other residence to spend some time with the kids and maybe take the wife out for dinner. I'll be back in the lab tonight to play and do a live stream of my session on Twitch.

I'm still feeling a bit under the weather, although I felt better for the first time today. I figured I wouldn't push my luck and go out tonight, but when a friend texted me around 1:00 AM I was starving so I met up with him to get a bite to eat. I really wanted to bring a girl back to the condo but did not feel like going to any bars to drink, something I rarely say or feel. As luck would have it a girl I know who works down the street on 136 at 69 Bar walked by the restaurant on her way home and I invited her to sit down. I've drank with her plenty of times but have never taken her home prior to tonight. She's a thin girl with lovely legs, but I wasn't expecting much when she took off her top. To my surprise she's godamn huge up top. I wish I could provide a full frontal picture but she wouldn't let me take that one. Big Bananas please remind me to set up the hidden cam next time you see me. Anyway a good time was had by all and it's about 4:30 AM as I write this and she just left.



I had a good night poker wise last night; top set and player pays me off for a near $1.2K pot. I also played a bit this morning but basically ended up even as I went down early and had to crawl my way back. I'm looking at the games now but nothing stands out so I may just wait until tomorrow.

It's been an absolutely crazy week with the wife's pregnancy and Christmas coming up. Regarding the former she's ending her fourth month so we had a doctor's appointment. I wasn't sure if they would be able to tell us the sex of the baby or if we would have to wait one more month. Luckily the sonogram was able to tell us that we're having a boy. My wife and her family have a history of just churning out baby girls so this will be the first boy in a while, something I'm very ecstatic about. My wife picked up on this and that made her happy as well as she's always worried about my reaction. I did want a boy, no doubt, but I am somewhat conflicted still. Females have much more earning power in this country so I'm going to have to focus on his education that much more and make sure I contribute as much as I can from home.



I hate shopping usually so for this Christmas I wanted to get it done early. As my wife does not mind getting her presents early I took her to the jeweler to pick out any two things she wanted. I got off fairly light as she picked a ring with a gold band for about $150 and a gold necklace for about another $250. I was ready to spend more but my wife is really good about this sort of thing and tends to never over spend. As for the kids I got them a couple of stuffed animals and two entry level tablets from Huawei. I realize some are against buying children mobile devices at such a young age but my daughter has picked up so much English in this past year. Most of it has to do with her always watching videos and using apps on my wife's phone so I just wanted to continue the process for her on a larger screen. I ended up getting two Huawei Matepad T8's but now wish I would have just sprung for more and bought two better tablets. I tested them out just now and it's not the greatest experience. I'll definitely buy them something better before they head to school.





Poker has been going great the past couple of weeks and will more than pay for all the presents. I've even promised the wife to take her on a holiday to the city of Kampot where her best friend resides. It's a small town that we used to live in previously and while it's really quiet there, the food scene is surprisingly fantastic and I need the relaxation. The only think I have to decide is whether or not to go before or after the New Year. Then after that I have to head out to Thailand for a few weeks to see my friend Ginge who also has a blog here in the travel section. We've been trying to collaborate on something for months now but the whole travel situation has put a damper on our plans.
