Had a short session today while listening to dub techno; a genre I've been getting into lately. It calms me a lot and is great for grinding. I don't know if anyone is actually following my journey, if not, it's all good. I'll stick with it though as it keeps me motivated. This week I'm all alone and will hopefully put in better numbers than so far. My volume has been quite pathetic. Can't complain about the results though. It seems that only the PLO200 FF game is running nowadays which is fine as my roll has surpassed 30k$. I would say 40k$ is better for PLO200, however the games are incredibly soft at the moment.

The session went mediocre. The pool was the best/worst I've seen this month in terms of absolutely atrocious players. I ran a bit below EV for once (had it coming lol) and ended up only a few buy ins. So pretty disappointing considering the state of the pool. Even the regulars were quite bad. I see so many mistakes it's almost ridiculous. Sometimes I wonder what the heck is going on. PLO200 should be at least somewhat decent.

as played i think this is pure fold. Of course u have 8 blocker, but his hand looks like he had a wrap and was to scary to bet the turn. ( of course he should have bet). In his range i see mostly combos, as u block 2pairs+.

So i prefer to x/c, as no worse hand is paying off or as played bet/fold, even if villain had agrq over 30%

I think blocking and checking are both fine options. After thinking about it I think you are absolutely right, he looks exactly like the hand he has. We probably have to make an exploitable fold. I need some bluffs. Blocking k10 is vital of course. I have a lot(!) of k10's in my flop ch/calling range. Unblocking all the back door A suits is probably at some significance as well. I have some showdown value which is why I think ch/r is good. Leading river is also an option albeit not as good imo. Also, I have a pretty good sizing tell on this particular villain.

8j10q hand. It's hard for me to show up with a worse hand on the turn, thus I probably need to start bluffing. Zero equity bluffs are (and should be) rare in PLO, however this is probably one of the spots where it's fine. Not having a club is quite important, and of course, as you pointed out, leveraging the AA advantage even though the more I think about it the more I'm convinced that the AA advantage, with these stack sizes in mind, are quite small (a good timing tell when you 3b someone 300+bb deep is that if they tank call, they are way more likely to have AA than if they snap).

The last hand. I like raising. This is our board (v calls from mp), which is why we need to attack it pretty hard. Well played! I would probably prefer raising if we didn't have backdoor spades though. Still, it's definitely good.

Hello friends. I have been running worse than a trash can in the tenderloin neighborhood for the past 20k hands. In terms of AIEV it has been pretty bad, but in terms of distribution and rivers it has been miserable. But that's just a part of them game. I've played it way to long to not now, that periods like these will happen. I'm still crushing. Had a day where I played pretty bad. And two days of playing well bun running like shite.

Highlight of the week was one of the multiple fish regs calling me the worst reg ever. A terrible reg calling you bad is actually the best compliment you can get bc that means that you are doing all the good stuff that he isn't doing. Celebrated immediately with a pint of beer and allowed myself to have a cigarette. Also another reg wrote something that started with C U N T in caps, unfortunately didn't get to see the rest due to table break up.

Also a shoutout to the good regs. Thanks for starting tables with me and stacking my $$$ respectfully during this dickkk run!

Yes, terrible night last night. Honestly it has kinda removed the joy a lot of us danes felt towards the tournament. I didn't even care about the result afterwards, though it on paper (not under the circumstances) was a huge disappointment. Now it's all about Eriksen getting through this without complications and the players getting the help they need to tackle such a trauma. They are a very tightly knit group of players. A lot of them are very good friends and such an experience can't be easy to bounce back from.

Still excited for the game that starts shortly. Have a lot of english players on my fantasy team, so rooting for them!

One of the reasons I stopped posting was bc I felt that some of the regs in my game caught on. Don't know if it was just paranoia on my part. Hey man, nice couple of updates. Still crushing the games is see. Being so deep and MW I don’t think I like the pot (with a hand that rarely makes the nuts) Prefer a smaller size , to start with and evaluate based on action from that. Personally feels a bit loose stacking off here in his shoes although he has decent blockers and back doors.. What do you think ?

So here is my poker story: (wall of text: tl;dr - have been playing PLO almost exclusively for 8 years)

My first serious venture into poker was back in 2009. I played 16 tables of NLHE 100$ BI on the iPoker-network. Think I was around a 3-4bb winner. More importantly I pocketed around 6k$ a month in rake race winnings and 5k$ a month in rake back. I didn't really understand poker on a deeper level, but that wasn't necessary back then. Those were the times man.

As a young and very immature, borderlinge ret4rded, individuel, I did however spend a lot of the winnings going out and buying stuff I didn’t really need.

Then university came about and I only played poker sporadically when I needed money. I never really enjoyed playing poker and it was always more of a necessary grind to finance a lifestyle of alcohol, drugs, traveling, girlfriends, and overall a pretty good life as student.

Pretty quickly I transitioned into Pot Limit Omaha. Must have been about 8 years ago. The edge was larger and the fish were incredibly bad (still is). Over the years I’ve won a lot but I was always a big spender and never really cared for money. Then I stopped completely and started accumulating student dept instead. Poker was never really an option after that as I did (and do) find it incredibly boring and I liked spending my free time reading instead of mindlessly winning $'s from poor souls.

I still don’t care for money at all. What has changed is that now I don’t use them like a ****ing degenerate.

I don’t have any dreams of becoming rich. I don’t want fancy things in life. I just want to be content.

What has motivated me to pick up poker again was first and foremost paying of student debt (has been done) and then becoming financially independent (winning enough to invest money and get a steady yearly income that way), so I can put my focus into writing. I have a few published poems and am working on my first novel.

I hope I don’t sound like an arrogant assh0le, but I’ve always known that I have the talent to beat midstakes comfortably. I have a very intuitive way of understand poker and the introduction of game theory is right up my ally. I do have 100bi's for PLO500 now but the games rarely run and you will only see me in them if there is a particularly bad fish playing. I know how swingy of a game this is (did run 100bi's below at one point earlier in my "career") and I need 250bi's to be comfortable.

I have a masters degree in political science and philosophy with a specialization in formal logic. I’ve landed a pretty reasonable job and I will maintain that job until I am financial independent whether it be from poker or as an author (one is allowed to dream!).

Going through my hands post session. Marking a good handful. Usually I can't be bothered running them through a sim or looking at similar solves, as I already know if I did or did not make a mistake. But I do i from time to time run it if I am completely lost.

I do make mistakes during my sessions. But I'm well aware that I made a mistake as soon as I click the ****ing call button. Most of them come from tilt. Not tilt in a traditional spewy way. More deviating from preflop ranges and playing too many hands pre, and calling too much post, when I run like **** (an example would be the KKJJds, I ran like **** coming into the hand, and I didn't really think the hand through going into the river bet, and the call off is just terrible, especially vs this particular opponent who is one of the very few very good regs. It's just very poorly played and in these fairly deep spots it's incredibly important to not make mistakes and don't get attached to the hand just bc you flop the dream and the run out is unfavorable). I work a lot on this aspect and nowadays it is getting a lot better with me having whole sessions of pretty spotless poker.

After a heater comes the inevitable crash, yesterday was not good to me
