Hey guys.

My name is Scott and I'm 32 years old from Canada. I'm a working professional. I'm just a recreational who plays poker as a fun hobby.

Only ever played holdem until about a month ago when i started dabbling and looking into PLO.

I'm going to be starting a challenge to grow my bankroll from small stakes and see how high we can work up to. Will try to update here with some progress / graphs frequently. Will be doing this as a side hobby for fun to challenge myself.

Current stake - 50 PLO
Target stake - 5000 PLO
Current Bankroll - $920 USD

Plan is to move up stakes to 100plo once I have 40 buyins for the new stake ( $4000 ). I may change the parameters of when to move up / shot take but for now I want to be sure I'm crushing the current stake before moving up. I know it's important to get out of rake hell quickly but i think the games are still very beatable even with extreme rake.

Thanks guys, talk soon!

Day 1. Didn't play much volume today, but won a few buyins at 50plo. One chart is normal tables, one is zoom/rush+cash.

Going to actually be moving up at 20 buyins for next stake. moving down if i drop below 15. Not sure what peoples thoughts are for this strategy in PLO for Bankroll Management

I just had a 37bi upswing in 2500 hands then an 11bi downswing in the next 900....seems pretty risky as you'll now be at your next lower stake with only 30bi. If you're willing to move down again if you drop 10bi there then I suppose it can work

Hello, since your playing for fun and have a job you can do whatever you feel like I would say. But just take some time and consider how it will affect your mental game potentially to having to move up/down/up/down/up/down several times in a very short timeframe instead of taking a little more time for a longer shot at 100nl where you dont have to check your bankroll during session all the time.

Another idea is to just add in 1 table of 100nl and be mixing first.

Either way, GL with challenge

I agree with you guys, thanks for the input. going to go back to my original 40 buyins guideline and wait for $4000 roll before jumping to 100plo, then i think if i drop below 30 buyins i'll move down. Thanks for the advice

I think it will definitely affect the way I play if I lose a few buyins and it's a bigger % of the roll. Even though it will be slower progress I think that's better for me anyway as I'm new to the game

I'm doing this for fun but obviously I am going to take it very seriously as I'm quite competitive

Wondering if anyone knows where the best sites for me to grind / play in this challenge would be. Playing on GG a bit right now, want to add another site in. What's the best in terms of action / beatable rake I suppose?

Thanks for any advice!
