So played some 5 PLO by mistake and that can pretty much be ignored. Overall good results which I am happy with. A note on my zoom play. The styles required to play zoom versus regular tables are somewhat different. So moving back and forth between regular tables and zoom requires me to make some adjustments which looks like I didn't do to well since my focus was on the softer regular tables where I put 3/4 of my volume in.
Without revealing too much I will say this that at regular tables you should be playing more for showdown equity while at zoom you should be playing more for steal equity. Earlier in previous reviews I was more focused on zoom and was winning there while my regular table game suffered. I need to work more on transitioning between the two since I seem to be having difficulty going back and forth.
So its time to check how I did with following my rules I setup for myself.
1. Will not play poker the day after review, will probably study or take the day off but definitely no playing. Yes taking today off playing, might study a bit but mainly focused on the results, what they mean and looking at the way forward.
2. Will check results and do a review every 20000 hands (Instead of 10000 hands). Yes I stuck to this.
3. Will take shots at the next stake when I have 20BI for the next stake and move back down if my shot is unsuccessful. I will follow this upto 25PLO (Old number was 10 BI shot). Yes I stuck to playing 2PLO and now I do have 20BI for a shot at 5PLO.
4. Will play 4-6 regular tables or 1-2 zoom tables. I plan on upping this by 3 regular tables or 1 zoom table once I have reads on 90% of my player pool but that will take time so for the ongoing 20000 hands will stick to 6 regular tables or 2 zoom tables as the maximum limit. Yes did this 95% of the time. This rule was the second hardest to follow of them all.
5. Will play 1500 hands daily. Since I am upping my number of tables it will allow me to get in ~350 hands/hr and am looking at around 4-5 hours of play/day so am looking at 1500/day (old figure was 1000 hands per/day). Yes I did this successfully.
6. Will be sticking to work 25days and taking upto 5 days off and also to the study 1 hour number for now. Yup doing the first part pretty much. As for studying part that has been the hardest rule to follow and need a separate rule for it. I added in reviewing all my notes before starting my sessions for the day as part of the rules and that has shown results. Need to push myself further with studying. Its the only area in which I feel I let myself down.
7. Will post daily going forward. Yeah did this or close to it.
Looking forward am going to take a 20BI shot at 5PLO. Now here is where I need to be extremely careful considering my history. I need to play my same game, its the game that has been successful at 2PLO and I need to give it a proper shot at 5PLO. I messed up at this juncture last time and just played horribly once I jumped up stakes. I need to remind myself here that nothing has changed besides the stake. I still was and still am playing poker and I need to play good like I have been and not make any drastic changes to my game. What I am doing is working. The process is working and I need to stick to it.
On the side note I have not talked much of the other aspects of poker the non table aspects. The physical and mental health aspects. The exercise and meditation aspects. I might decide to in the future but just a note here that I have changed to exercising at least a bit almost daily. Also I am looking to add some daily mental health things to my routine not sure what yet.
Overall am very happy with the process and how things are going and just need to stick with it and do more of the same.
